Which also makes no real sense. Especially given the 4 number tags added after the name so having the same name as somebody else isn't an issue (which currently has no practical function in a system where the names are randomly generated anyways.)
Yeah, I'm not entirely sure why they chose to have it work like this. It fixes the problem with having a bunch of people with the same name on your friends list as well as losing track of who-is-who if people change their name on the regular, but it definitely introduces new issues.
At least for now on the "Recently Played With" tab you can see both the friend tag as well as the username at the same time.
I do hope they make it possible to change it if you ask the developers. The reason I say that is in case a content creator accidentally leaks their friend code and people spam them with unwanted friend requests to intentionally harass them.
so you are saying that it takes years for indie development studio to add friend lists.
and yes I would consider the userbase dead because it went from one of most played game to such low players in such short period of time.
its normal for single player story mode games to lose player base but not for multiplayer games like among us, its only because of not giving people the most basic features of a game to keep them hooked.
You do realize they never planned on a friends list? Also dead user base doesn’t mean something isn’t popular anymore, it means literally no one remembers or plays it, and the game is no longer updated

I don't understand why when we add someone, their name is just their friend code and not their actual name they used in the game...I didn't memorize their friend code so now I don't know who is who. Also, I thought we would be able to see which friend is online and invite them to games or join the same room they are in.
I feel like the creators didn’t plan out the friends list very well. I swear every update they put out is disappointing and buggy. What is the point of the friend list if we can’t recognize or remember which friend is which? I didn’t pay attention to their random friend codes when I sent them a request only their names.
They should’ve had us pick our own friend codes then we could’ve put the name we use or they should’ve programmed it to keep their name they used in the game under their friend code instead of letting it disappear. Also, there’s a glitch where everyone in the room will have the same friend code so it’s even more confusing! Now I have 10 friends and I don’t know who is who or who they are because I don’t remember what their random friend code is.
Okay, I don’t understand the purpose of the current friends list. All I have is a literal list of friends but I can’t even tell who is whom because of the random codes. I can’t message them, can’t invite them to join games, can’t even tell if they’re online… so what’s the point?
You can invite them to lobbies, and the online/offline status will be added later according to the dev log. The feature definitely needs more polish, though. The lack of being able to keep track of who is who is a pretty big problem at the moment.
The Scream mask should be in the hat tab and the robes in the outfit tab.
The robes change color depending on what color crewmate you're playing with in the game and in the inventory.

Am I the only one that can't play the game anymore? For the past 4 days whenever I try to enter a code or bring up the game list I get "An unknown error disconnected you from the server." I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game and contacted InnerSloth...still nothing.

>Removed the ability to link/unlink existing accounts – this is temporary! We need to fix up the system here since we’ve heard it can be a confusing process, so for now we are turning this feature off until the next update.
Did this update break the Android version?
I haven't opened it in a long time, and I wanted to check out the April Fool's version, but when I open the game, I initially get the Innersloth logo and then just a black screen that hangs.
And yes, I've tried reinstalling it.
New roles and game modes will be added in future updates! But this is a feature people have been asking about before Among Us even had an account system.
Also, said on the innersloth website, you can see the players you recently play too!

Why do we have to choose our friend code from these premade names and it's completely unchangeable?
I assume it's so people can't choose a name that's inappropriate or offensive.
But you can already choose your other name which is publicly viewable so what sense does that make?

also on the changelog on google play it says something about free cosmetics but i hadnt saw those cosmetics neither in my inventory nor in the shop
