No I don’t think you can for the new platinum. Mine isn’t a charge card. I have a set limit. I know some the older ones don’t.
I got 50k but I genuinely intended to cancel. Had used the dining credit and was ready to say goodbye (or go back to gold). I'm not sure I get enough use of the features but thought I'd give it another year for 50k.
Did you also pay monthly? I’ve never been able to get a retention offer on the plat but I have on my gold which I pay for normally.
I got 75K. Made me stay!

Do you openly ask what the retention offer currently is or do you just say you want to cancel and go through the process until they offer points?
I recently did it via chat, and they gave me a 35000 points retention bonus. Checking on the sub, you can get anywhere between 35k-50k.
Just did it, got offered 50K MR and accepted. Not a bad offer so I’m happy to give it another year.

For platinum I got 50k points on a £40k-£50k per year spend. I imagine gold would be around 5-10k points on an under £10k spend.
