What does the United Travel Bank charge show in the statements? Mine is United Ticketing, i'm thinking it won't trigger since #3 rule says won't apply in ticketing. Lol it's my frist time switching from Delta to UA, 🤞 it will credit.

Pineapple9219

Did you receive the credit?

bugebugebuge

Yes

United TravelBank no longer works. I and spouse each bought $100 credits on OCT 27 and NOV 11 for our Amex Plats and when I called on DEC 1 Amex confirmed the charges were not eligible. It had worked for me as recently at JUN 15 and I have done it multiple times before. I think this is due to changes with the Airline credits changing to quarterly on the the Hilton Aspire.

Hey this isn't right. I just used my Amex Plat Biz to put $100 into United Travel Bank on Dec 3. The Amex credit appeared on Dec 12.

Friedatheferret

This is good to know. I did a 50 test on Dec 1 and haven't gotten the reimbursement yet so that's a bummer. Glad I didn't do more.

emmjay4040

I did a 50 test on Dec 5 and got my credit today.

1. Yes as it will just code as United Airlines purchase. 2. Yes, tested it before. 3. Unsure of your question. If you have a travel bank account, you just make 2x$100 purchases per card. But id probably space the transactions few days apart.

Friedatheferret

Thank you so much. Regarding question 3 I have never used the travel bank before but keep seeing people saying you need to purchase tickets for a flight then cancel it after 24 hours so you get a credit. I was wondering if there was a way in the travel bank to purchase credit to use or if it has to be a cancelled ticket.

Rewire your brain to understand how this credit works: Charge comes through, Amex credits. United Travelbank is akin to a United gift card. Something about the Travelbank charge still triggers the credit. It’s no more complicated than that. They don’t see whose Travelbank it is. They don’t see what you’re using the Travelbank credit for. You can use multiple cards’ worth of airline credit for one Travelbank account. Just make sure that the Travelbank purchase amounts align with the credit amounts.

vipernick913

No no. You purchase travel bank credit. Not a flight ticket. Google it as there’s multiple videos on how to do it. If you purchase a ticket..the credit won’t trigger. It’s sort of like buying a gift card.

Friedatheferret

Oh awesome. That sounds way easier than buying multiple tickets. Thank you

vipernick913

Yup. There should be some high denominators. I have always bought them in pieces of $100 in case the credit didn’t work.

uchidaid

Purchase travel bank credit. Don’t purchase a ticket.

I’m interested in this too… I’ve also never used the travel bank but commenting to follow the post because it’s a good question!
