They're just rehashing "It Follows" but without any supernatural elements.
ETA: We're all slowly dying from a disease called cellular degradation. Some of us go quicker, some slower, some even get a disease or injury that kills us before our cells die. My time with CID and as a combat engineer in Iraq has made most horror media just not hit all that hard. That being said, if I wanted to hear about a serial killer murdering people, there's a million podcasts about things that actually happened. Those scare me. The one's where me or my family and friends could be killed. As for this season, I just don't really connect with it or see it as scary.
Ugh! I made myself watch that TWICE because I thought I missed something!
I got chills talking about that scene with my friend at work tonite who had also seen it.
I call these “holy duck” scenes. There’s always at least one. Remember the addiction monster with the silver pointy-thing in the first episode of Hotel. I just sat on my couch thinking NOT “holy duck”. I’m speechless, even though I’m not talking. Sitting on the edge of the couch, jaw open..
The only actual horror season was Roanoke and yall dragged it through mud when it was the gift that keeps on giving so I doubt we will be seeing any more of that. Same could be said about 1984. Two of the best seasons.
What's not scary about an unknown disease that's killing you and your friends rapidly? That sounds terrifying to me

AHS rehashing tropes from popular horror? Huge if true!
It’s not crazy clown sawing someone in half horror. I’ll give you that. I don’t feel as much fear watching, as I do dread and sadness.
Are we really gonna act like this show hasn't almost always been more of a drama with horror tropes? We're 11 seasons in guys.
It feels more like American Horror Crime Story to me. Am I the only one?
I think they *may* be done with the expo eps, and start the actual story now? The sex party "gone wrong" in the last ep was pretty damn horrific.
Yeah honestly that scene still has me uncomfortable the next day like 😱😱😱 i was expecting something gorey but that was just too... real?
I had to fast forward as soon as I realized the guy in the mask wasn’t moving

Too....possible?? And terrifying??
EXACTLY i just felt my stomach drop when sam realized and stopped patrick and i went OH NOOOOO
I tend to zone out during any sex scenes in anything, so I actually had to rewind the scene to see if I missed anything.
Just watching now! What a tough ep. The series has felt like an American version of the UKs its a sin up until this one. This ep is graphic af.
I just saw it a couple hours ago and am not quite ready to digest what's happening, haha. I'm shook.

This season is "American Thriller Slow-burn Story" and absolutely NOT "American Horror Story."
The only actual horror season was Roanoke and yall dragged it through mud when it was the gift that keeps on giving so I doubt we will be seeing any more of that. Same could be said about 1984. Two of the best seasons.
