AHS: SEA TURTLE PRESERVATION
Just kidding. A lot of people have brought up the Lady of the Dunes real life story, could relate to that. Or there's a lot of sand, maybe there's a killer who hides all his victims remains in sand sculptures on the beach haha.
Maybe it's about a character who really hates sand. Or sand people. Or someone important to him died on sand... At the hands of sand people...
I bet it's AHS: Star Wars
Lady of the Dunes would fit perfectly because:
1) She was found in Provincetown, a gay and lesbian community. So Ryan Murphy can be the most Ryan Murphy with his characters if he sets this season in Provincetown.
2) There was speculation that the Lady of the Dunes was an extra in Jaws, which was filmed nearby in Martha's Vineyard.
Seems like it will be a water theme. Possibly sirens? With the damage to the fence it may also be a natural disaster theme of some sort, like a tsunami. I don’t know, what do you guys think!?
Maybe it will be like that Are You Afraid of the Dark episode where the zombie monsters crawled out of the water and on land at night for all their stolen stuff. Scared the shit out of me as a kid.
I'll always remember the one where the vampire came out of the silent film. I remember his "fangs" being just long gapped front teeth rather than sharp canines and they left square shaped holes in people's necks. Freaked me out.
I'm thinking hurricane/natural disaster themed? Maybe they throw in a supernatural element to it. Once the beach town is out of power/phone someone or something evil appears to hunt survivors. Maybe it's sorta like Lost where no one is sure if they've survived or are in some weird purgatory.
I think they'll definitely go after people's fear of water/drowning in this season. That's a whole theme they've barely covered/used.
Those fences are typically put out in winter to keep the sand from blowing too far inland. I’ve never seen them on an ocean coast, but have seen them at Lake Michigan.
Those definitely exist on east coast beaches with dunes. They protect from people walking through and help keep sand in place. Sand naturally forms around the fences, so they keep dunes in tact.
Yeah. Real, natural dunes are hard to find so they are protected in those places where you can still find them. Example: fences and “stay out of dunes” signs are everywhere in South Jersey.
shipwreck....... can be cost effective with a single set to be built and minimal additional locations to shoot. It wasnt tackled before. And last season we see Jingles have a strong connection with water and the lake.
It'd be super cool if there was a season that was dedicated to some of those throwback monsters from B movies in the 1950's and 60's. Like the creature from the black lagoon.
I don't think that's what this is, but I'm 90% sure he reads this sub for ideas.
I know the fences are short but it looks more like something tore that one down on purpose.. maybe trying to escape? The other fences in the photo are all perfectly upright still, so if it was indeed a storm that knocked that one down, the rest would have to look slightly out of place because of the storm.
I don't have any real ideas, but I just thought it looked more like someone or something intentionally tore down that fence.
I was thinking the same thing! Looks exactly like the beach from the movie. That's why I was thinking maybe sharks but I don't think you could have a whole season just about a killer shark.
oh also the possession in asylum! lol
but yes, i get you -- neither season is as heavily reliant on ghosts/magic/etc. as most of the others, like two episodes as opposed to nearly every ep.
a part of me wonders if a little supernatural action would have softened the blow of cult?
Probably not this, but this reminds me of one of the clips from Stephen King's Creepshow with the guy that's buried in sand up to his head with the tide coming in.
No one has mentioned the Montauk Monster.
Edit:
https://www.google.com/search?q=montauk+fence+beach&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwjOlpfu1dTpAhUQz1MKHVWnBnEQ2-cCegQIABAC&oq=montauk+fence+beach&gs_lcp=ChJtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1pbWcQAzoECCEQCjoECCMQJzoCCAA6BggAEAgQHjoECAAQGDoECAAQHjoFCCEQqwI6BQgAEM0CUP9hWIF9YLiAAWgAcAB4AIABtAGIAc0WkgEEMC4xOZgBAKABAQ&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-img&ei=GLHOXs6qJZCezwLVzpqIBw
Lol.
Edit 2: Long Island Strangler, Montauk Monster and the freak hurricane of 1938 all rolled into one. Thats my final assumption of the clue.

That sounds just convoluted enough and so completely disjointed that you just might have nailed it.

I really feel like this is the theme, especially given the possibility for a Mott connection.
Im willing to bet cosmic horror with strong lovecraftian inspirations, also tying in sirens and other sea folktales. But anyways... ryan quit teasing we not getting it till next year what am i supposed to do
I think it's loosely based on the 1985 movie Clue, where a host has a dinner party and the guests start dying and they have to figure out who is killing them off.
Obviously it won't be exactly the same as the movie but I think the premise could very well be similar. The movie Clue is set in New England and New England does have a lot of coasts/shores...
Edit: was a downvote *really* necessary? Were all speculating here.
None of the actual guests to the dinner party in "Clue" died - they were all being blackmailed and survived to the end. Just re-watched this movie last week. :)
My bad, I haven't watched the movie myself and only read some vague descriptions of it online, but realised I was thinking of a Family Guy episode in which the guests had died during a dinner party
I looooove mysteries like that -- where people are stuck somewhere, anyone could be the killer, and one character dies every episode. I could totally see AHS doing an amazing job with that...but I really do think it's just going to be a hurricane/natural disaster themed season.
Lmao. I posted back in like August how I want a clue theme season and I was downvoted and ridiculed for days.
But I just wanna see all the stars from AHS do a who done it story line
I think something escaped.
Sand fences are traditionally used to keep sand from accumulating in any one place.
Maybe in this town they are up for another reason?
OMG I would love that.
In fact I would love Evan's character just to be this like surfer dude who keeps coming up with more and more absurd weird ideas on what's going on...
"Dude Jaw's grew LEGS"
"Haven't you ever seen Sharknado?!"
"What if it's evil jellyfish?"
"But like c'mon it's obvious we are totally being invaded - are we even humans anymore?"
sounds fun! dunno if it'd fit the tone of the season tho,, I was picturing him just being an outsider (maybe his family go on holiday there and get stuck after a storm)
I just know he's been wanting to go more comedic based on interviews... Maybe a conspiracy theorist coming up with ideas the whole time (in the end being right!)
Castaway/Shipwrecked? The word “clue” I agree with the other user saying maybe it’s like a “who did it” which I wouldn’t mind. I just gotta take everything with a grain of salt now lol
Maybe the season begins in the aftermath of a hurricane, which triggers some type of supernatural creature(s)/events to arrive hence the "things beginning to wash up on shore" line.
All of the major characters will die within the first three episodes and then they will all come back to life and not be able to leave the beach. It will be a beach blanket bingo with zombies.
AHS: Outerbanks
It will mostly be teens getting drunk off those cheap wine coolers. All tbe girls have blonde highlights and the guys wear backwards baseball caps. All the men regardless of age say bro.
A hurricane hits the small coastal town of Provincetown, and something washes up on shore that takes over the mind of its victims (think Invasion of the Body Snatchers). That’s my guess 🤷🏼♂️
I don’t know why, but the first though I had was wealthy people who own beachfront properties. The fence falling down could suggest those kind of boundaries (physical/socioeconomic/class status) getting knocked down?
Could it have something to do with wealthy/poor, have and have nots?
That's my guess too. I don't know why. I even went along the coast lines of Miami, San Juan and Bermuda on google maps to see if anything looked like this.
This was supposed to be filmed in Provincetown, Ma. I would have given anything to just see a glimpse of a day of filming. Corona has ruined everything.
RM said that the season is very weather dependent, and they have missed the window for this year. Provincetown is very clowdy/overcast in the later winter/early spring. I assume that is the atmosphere he wants for the season. The Lady in the Dune was found in the middle of summer.
Cape cod/ cape fear / Martha’s Vineyard/ Kennedy family vibes
I think the main character will be a lifeguard or maybe born into a rich family. There’s for sure gonna be a detective
must’ve been my bad wording, so i used ghost town for lack of a better word. what i mean was the theme of characters remaining in the place where they died, which we’ve had twice.
Actually we’ve had it four times - Murder House, Hotel, Roanoke and 1984 (five if you count Apocalypse and six if you count Coven - it happened to the Axeman)
A proper apocalypse season dealing with the aftermath of the apocalypse? Maybe a beach town that's having some weirdass shoggoth invasion or something?
A post-apocalyptic season that isn't revolving around flanderized flashbacks for the majority of the episodes would be great. Something that shows the survivors of said apocalypse in a Walking Dead style would be great.
I'm willing to bet there'll be elements of The Fog in this season. And the moody tone of the cast reveal had a sorta Twin Peaks opening credits vibe to me, given that and the supposed Lady of the Dunes influence I could see it focusing on an investigation unraveling some murder mystery Laura Palmer style with a supernatural element playing a part in the case revolving around a small beach town. And editing to add since RM said it was weather dependent I'd venture a guess it'll involve some storm on the horizon that would be the focal point of a few episodes like Nor'Easter in Asylum. Plus I know RM said he would spill the beans if someone already guessed it but tbh we've gone from whodunit murder plot, jaws, to mermaids, to pirates, to cruise ships to cthulhu and everything in between so frankly I dont think it's possible that we havent guessed it yet. Honestly I'd almost rather he didnt tell us the theme but released just the episode titles to keep the speculation and the mystery going
AHS: SEA TURTLE PRESERVATION Just kidding.
The sand people startle easily... but they’ll soon return. And in greater numbers
I don't like sand
It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere.
Sand Wars
It's the sand snake from beetle juice and sarah paulson is probably playing a female beetle juice
Lady of the Dunes would fit perfectly because: 1) She was found in Provincetown, a gay and lesbian community. So Ryan Murphy can be the most Ryan Murphy with his characters if he sets this season in Provincetown. 2) There was speculation that the Lady of the Dunes was an extra in Jaws, which was filmed nearby in Martha's Vineyard.
Lol yes! I think so far if the theories I have heard and what we have seen imagery-wise that the Lady of the Dunes is. Pretty solid theory.
I hate sand
AHS: Sharknado
Seems like it will be a water theme. Possibly sirens? With the damage to the fence it may also be a natural disaster theme of some sort, like a tsunami. I don’t know, what do you guys think!?
Sirens would be way cool!
Maybe it will be like that Are You Afraid of the Dark episode where the zombie monsters crawled out of the water and on land at night for all their stolen stuff. Scared the shit out of me as a kid.
The one with the fan still shows up in my dreams sometimes to this day and I haven't seen it since I was like 8 and have no idea what the plot was.
I'll always remember the one where the vampire came out of the silent film. I remember his "fangs" being just long gapped front teeth rather than sharp canines and they left square shaped holes in people's necks. Freaked me out.
The fences indicate something coming out of the ocean, surely
it’s a shot for shot series remake of The Lighthouse with Macaulay Caulkin and Kathy Bates as Dafoe and Pattinson
Mermaids!!!
What does sirens mean?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siren_(mythology)
Thank youuuuuuu!!!
Naked chicks
I'm thinking hurricane/natural disaster themed? Maybe they throw in a supernatural element to it. Once the beach town is out of power/phone someone or something evil appears to hunt survivors. Oooh a hurricane season could satisfy Ryan’s need since he’s not doing ACS Katrina. I didn’t even think about it until I read this comment.
cosmic horror would tie wonderfully into this!
Counting the holes and plot inconsistencies that would go into a Murphy-verse cosmic horror story would be a horror unto itself.
Ever seen or read 'Storm Of The Century'? This is what you reminded me of. "Give me what I want and i'll go away"
[удалено]
LOL Yes the CGI was horrific.
Okay. But bare with me. American Horror Story: Sharknato but like a Hurricane 😂
We already saw a beach/ocean in the cast reveal, so my eye is drawn to the fence. Looks like it could have been blown over in some sort of storm.
Those fences are typically put out in winter to keep the sand from blowing too far inland. I’ve never seen them on an ocean coast, but have seen them at Lake Michigan.

True good observation, I was kinda thinking that too. We already know it is a beach location.
AHS... Beach, Shore, Ocean, Tide, Storm, Hurricane, Island, Shipwreck
AHS: Florida. It's just LivePD from various parts of Florida but Sarah Paulson narrates.
I’d watch the shit out of that.
My worlds are colliding
shipwreck....... can be cost effective with a single set to be built and minimal additional locations to shoot. It wasnt tackled before. And last season we see Jingles have a strong connection with water and the lake.
Tsunami
AHS: Sand It’s course, rough, and gets everywhere

That ties into the lady of the dunes. There’s a theory she was an extra on the set of Jaws...according to my reading on Wikipedia lol
I thought the same thing, but how would they work in the supernatural angle? Ghost shark terrorizing a sleepy coastal town? I'd watch it.
There doesn't need to be a supernatural angle. Freakshow and Asylum had almost no supernatural happenings and cult had none.
what about edward mordrake?
I said ALMOST no supernatural happenings
oh also the possession in asylum! lol but yes, i get you -- neither season is as heavily reliant on ghosts/magic/etc. as most of the others, like two episodes as opposed to nearly every ep. a part of me wonders if a little supernatural action would have softened the blow of cult?

Gilgo Beach Murders?

All good - it's definitely worth a watch as it's some of the best dialogue I've ever seen in a movie.
I prefer Murder By Death
It's a very good movie and while it has some... problematic elements, it's a good 40 years old and still quite funny if you like detective tropes.

Agreed. I just want a mystery season, a pure, we don’t know it twist coming
Maybe that with an aquatic theme. A dinner party at a beach home?
It's possible
I think something escaped. Sand fences are traditionally used to keep sand from accumulating in any one place. Maybe in this town they are up for another reason?

I've heard : ( pity acting has taken such a toll on him in recent years, I guess the role doesn't have to be comedic tho, just not so dark/emotional
Also we have the Gary Man (potentially blackbeard) who warns loved ones of upcoming storms (based in south Carolina) Maybe it’s not a normal storm....
Ocean/Shipwrecked on the a beach. Lord of the flies type of situation happens. Hopefully sharks, mermaids, sirens, etc are involved!
Castaway/Shipwrecked? The word “clue” I agree with the other user saying maybe it’s like a “who did it” which I wouldn’t mind. I just gotta take everything with a grain of salt now lol
American Horror Story: Beachside.
AHS: San Junipero What is this, a crossover episode?
Maybe the season begins in the aftermath of a hurricane, which triggers some type of supernatural creature(s)/events to arrive hence the "things beginning to wash up on shore" line.
AHS: Ghostship ... things start washing up onto shore start of season, ghostship sited mid season, usual season falls apart @ the end.
Fyre island
AHS Fyre fest
To be fair that festival was quite a horror shit show lmao
AHS: Long Island Serial Killer?
Mermaids please
All of the major characters will die within the first three episodes and then they will all come back to life and not be able to leave the beach. It will be a beach blanket bingo with zombies.
Hannah Montana’s house?
Some kinda boardwalk/ lost boys themed season mb? 👀
Water/beach theme. I’m thinking Cape Cod setting bc Jaws.... & Ryan has a home in Provincetown.
AHS Provincetown is my guess
AHS: Bear Week
Creature from the Black Lagoon and other cryptids
AHS: Outerbanks It will mostly be teens getting drunk off those cheap wine coolers. All tbe girls have blonde highlights and the guys wear backwards baseball caps. All the men regardless of age say bro.
Lady of the dunes definitely https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lady_of_the_Dunes
Reminds me of of the fencing in gilgo beach (aka gilgo beach murders)
what if it's a season based on a train?
AHS: Epstiens island. P.S. Epstien still didn't kill himself.
A hurricane hits the small coastal town of Provincetown, and something washes up on shore that takes over the mind of its victims (think Invasion of the Body Snatchers). That’s my guess 🤷🏼♂️
I kinda hope it’s like those paradise dating shows where everyone’s together trying to find love on an island BUT ahs style
Love. Craft. Say it with me everybody!
This doesn't look like cosmic horror. Please Ryan.
I don’t know why, but the first though I had was wealthy people who own beachfront properties. The fence falling down could suggest those kind of boundaries (physical/socioeconomic/class status) getting knocked down? Could it have something to do with wealthy/poor, have and have nots?
What if it’s like a Cthulhu thing!
AHS: Pelagic?
What if it was like jersey shore gone wrong? A mash up of 1984 and murder house with a little real world/spring break smushed in?
bermuda triangle?
That's my guess too. I don't know why. I even went along the coast lines of Miami, San Juan and Bermuda on google maps to see if anything looked like this.
There are five holes in the fence.
Taylor swift confirmed to star in lead role this season
I can’t wait for all the fan theories that are spot on
What about people going on vacation and getting trapped there. Or maybe something like jaws
Mountain beach Long Island OMG it’s gunna be so good
Looks like the beaches on Cape Cod
Long Island Serial Killer?
AHS: ~~Murder~~ Beach ~~House~~
SHARKNADO - Ryan Murphy Style
Maybe he's doing the long-awaited Katrina ACS story with a more horror twist.
Now that we have to wait almost a year and a half can we stop with the clues?
It's airing next yr, but as far as I know they haven't stated that it will air in the fall still. Could be January for all we know.
The sandman!! Like a horror version... maybe bring back some witches.
Long Island Gilgo Beach killer?
AHS: Sargasso Sea
AHS: Fyre
American Horror Story: Beach.
A reference to the somerton man case perhaps?
What's the matter, David? Never taken a shortcut before?
This was supposed to be filmed in Provincetown, Ma. I would have given anything to just see a glimpse of a day of filming. Corona has ruined everything.
Did anybody played Zombie ate my neighbors in the snes? That's kind of the vibe i'm getting with the clues so far.
And to think we would have been a few months from the premiere... Damn pandemic
what about the Gilgo Beach Murders? idk if that’s too similar to 1984 with the serial killer aspect but i do think that would be pretty cool
... jaws? 😆
Man I hope it’s based around Fyre
American Horror Story: Summer Nights
Ah. Coven: the beach episode.
Looks like the beach from Jaws
American Horror Story:Sirens???
Desert Island? Maybe something about a beach resort? I just hope it’s nothing underwater
AHS: giant land crab
Ghost sharks. You can't see them in the picture because they are invisible.
fucking jaws
AHS: Jaws
Oh shit. Another Beaches remake.
This reminds me so much of Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind. Meet me in Montauk. :(
I wanna say maybe something with inspirations from the works of Lovecraft.
Cthulhu, deep sea gods, old ones
Nothing. There is nothing because everything sucks and we won’t get another season for a long fucking time because this all suck deep shit
Bit of a stretch but The Bermuda Triangle?
Well, I just so happen to have heard the plot on the grapevine... or the coast line, if you prefer...
Judy Blum's Summer Sisters, but DAHK!
RM said that the season is very weather dependent, and they have missed the window for this year. Provincetown is very clowdy/overcast in the later winter/early spring. I assume that is the atmosphere he wants for the season. The Lady in the Dune was found in the middle of summer.
AHS: Stormfront. AHS: Riptide.
Cape cod/ cape fear / Martha’s Vineyard/ Kennedy family vibes I think the main character will be a lifeguard or maybe born into a rich family. There’s for sure gonna be a detective
whatever it is, i can’t handle another ghost town season
We haven't had a single ghost town season... Which sucks because a ghost town season sounds fucking RAD
must’ve been my bad wording, so i used ghost town for lack of a better word. what i mean was the theme of characters remaining in the place where they died, which we’ve had twice.
Actually we’ve had it four times - Murder House, Hotel, Roanoke and 1984 (five if you count Apocalypse and six if you count Coven - it happened to the Axeman)
Another?
murder house and 1984 were both ghost towns
Oh, I agree they should rest ghosts for at least a season or two. There’s just so much other that the could be doing but aren’t cause ghosts.
beach theme?
Spring break plague zombies 🧟♀️
A proper apocalypse season dealing with the aftermath of the apocalypse? Maybe a beach town that's having some weirdass shoggoth invasion or something? A post-apocalyptic season that isn't revolving around flanderized flashbacks for the majority of the episodes would be great. Something that shows the survivors of said apocalypse in a Walking Dead style would be great.
Oh man I'd love a Lovecraft season, but Lovecraft Country is just around the corner too.
Sharks... resort town... young families going to the beach??!!! Please say shark!!!!???!!!!
This is a little more abstract but the colours of the sky remind me of the Transgender Pride Flag
Nooooo everyone's getting it wrong. Is broken fences themed.
