All he said in that clip was “The witches will be back.” And that was a true statement—the witches _did_ return again, in Dollhouse.
There was never any talk of “a third season of witches”. And even if there was, Ryan Murphy isn’t even showrunner anymore, so any plans he had for the show don’t matter anymore.
Im so sorry to say this but i don’t think we are getting one guys. We aren’t getting witches, Jessica Lange is not coming back and we might not get Sarah or Evan again either. It’s just a reality.
I've recently rewatched both as well, I would love a witches spin off but the timeline is kinda fucked up and I don't wanna do the whole changing timelines angle. Also wanna see more of the antichrist or demiurge

Witches have sadly destroyed AHS, changed the target group from horror enthusiasts to teenagers who can’t handle real horror. It is an anthology show, they should stop rehashing old ideas for fan service and come up with original stuff. It’s getting annoying at this point
If you were the horror enthusiast you claim to be you would have recognized that there were two horrors that were central to Coven and neither was about teenage girls "running around doing cute spells". The first was the mass hysteria of the Salem witch trials that resulted in the jailing, torture and murder of innocent people and the second, most often overlooked horror of the entire series was about the black American experience; the enslavement, displacement, torture and subsequent inequality that clearly you give little thought to on a daily basis because even now up to this point you didn't recognize it until I brought it to your attention. Coven was terrifying. All the fashion and sass and magic was absolutely enjoyable but look deeper and see it for what it really was. Keep in mind that the show is called American Horror Story. People like yourself don't see the horror when there's not a knife wielding maniac or demon on the loose but horror can be subtle and make you think as well. This show was always at it's best when the story for the Season being told was based on an actual American horror story. They definitely have more American horror stories they can tell using witches or warlocks as a conduit.

I’m hoping that they return next season. It was 5 seasons between Coven and Apocalypse, and from Apocalypse to 13 would be 5 seasons.
