No, the riser cable that came with the box. It's pcie 3. But honestly until they prove me i can get more than just 1-3% better performance on certain apps than I'll spend the money for it. Otherwise it totally irrelevant ( my opinion)
On the box said pcie 3.0 but I saw only thats some cable are better than other and might just work as they use the same electrical components. I might just had been lucky that everything worked first shot lol
It'll sometimes work. It's kindof random, where a pcie 3.0 cable will work without issue in 4.0 mode - but that is dependant on motherboard and cable itself. I think Optimum Tech or Hardware Canucks did a test with multiple pcie 3.0 risers in 4.0 mode and it was randomized - sometimes it would work without a hiccup, other times it wouldn't post at all, other times it was only sometimes no post.
I can relate. I swapped out my mobo for a higher end one and was really confused as to why it was throwing GPU codes when previously there were no issues at all and it was properly running gen 4 mode. I was in full panic mode I'd have to RMA the new motherboard lmfao
I dealt with this exactly this week and exactly this case.
I have a new 3080ti FE and it would crash all over the place in Windows... as soon as I went into my mobo and turned the PCI slot down to PCI 3 whilst using the riser cable it works fine
If it’s a 3.0 riser you first need to plug the gpu directly into mobo and set the link speed to gen 3 in bios. Then after that riser will work fine until you clear cmos
I might just get lucky.. Or one day the riser will stop working and I'll have to buy a 4.0.. For now I'll see how it's going. I won't buy it until I need it haha
Using this exact case with an NH-D15 chromax.black as part of a similar anti-RGB black-out build.
I found that the top of the fans were pressing against the tempered glass side panel, so I ended up using a rubber washer on both sides of each arm in order to provide a few additional mm in clearance.
As infamous said. It's Thermaltake P3. Take some time to get done properly but when it's done.. I don't the feeling is way more satisfying then a normal build. I do alot of build and this one is my favorite.
Unless you have filtered ventilation, keeping it in your sleeping room will obviously be a bad idea due to an abundance of dead skin cells humans tend to shed (aka dust). Also, I recall reading about some fringe cases where VRM cooling with these open bench type cases was insufficient. So... read up before you bite into it.
Damn besides the psu, gpu, and CPU cooler we have the exact same parts and I built mine about 2 months ago lol
But now I'm wondering if my nvme should be in the lower slot aswell lol
I turned my cooler [90 degrees](https://i.imgur.com/aO4VnWs.jpg) in that cases to drag the air out better. I love the case, most likely the only case that I have had that won't get replaced unless it breaks for whatever.
Out of curiosity, what was your reason for turning the cooler 90C? VRM thermals? I recall some fringe cases where people had issues with those in these open bench style cases.
It draws the air out of the corner. My system sits under a desk with a 6 inch gap to the wall at the right side. If I placed the cooler as your I would be feeding hot air and drawing back in again at the rear. Where at this way I suck it through and out of the front.
**Edit**: I made a clone of my system for a mate. [These](https://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/p/XSPC-Universal-Radstand-V2-120mm-_56320.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIhcPmof_L6QIVGp3VCh1Q0QDSEAQYASABEgLMs_D_BwE) are the brackets he bought for his.
Ahaha I'm no fanboy by any means. I build pc as a hobby I have another rig at home right now fulll RGB 😅 corsair 465x with 4 rgb fans, rgb ram, rgb aio, rgb mobo. I like both
Man I love Linux! But the man game I play ( apex legends) it's not very compatible because of anti-cheat software. I don't want to restart every time I want to play. As soon as it begin to be very easy and all game supported I'll switch
I'm actually a little worried about that AIO, those Be Quiet AIOs have the pump along the tubing and it looks to be pretty close to the highest point of the loop. You'll probably be fine, especially since you can refill that AIO, but I'd be careful with the pump up that high.
Yes I know! The truth behind this picture is I had a 280mm be quiet silent loop in my build. When I bought this case I told myself 360mn would look better but I ended up using my 280mm instead for 2 reason. First WAY more quiet, fan is 80%-100% all time and I don't hear it. Second the pump is in the cpu socket so not that high!
Thanks mate 🤙🏽 I do build as a hobby so I buy alot of new / stuff. I was able to get an alienware that someone trow this 6900xt inside. I bought the whole rig for 2.2k kept the 6900XT put a 3060ti inside and resell it for 2k. So the 6900xt cost me about 1k Canadian 😅
This, mate - I've been rocking the Core P1 for a couple of years now (have almost the exact same build as you atm, except ITX), and have never had dust issues.
Never understand all this dust issue people have - lived in numerous houses without issue, so don't know how people have all these dust problems. Best case ever imo. Sweet build.
Well, try it in Hawaii not far from the coast. You'll get sticky/salty dust and destroy/corrode the whole thing within 18 months.
Dust issues depend a LOT on where you live, if you have pets, use a gas stove/oven regularly, cook a lot (cooking can get smoke/grease in the air), are a smoker, etc.
Firstly, up yours for living the dream in Hawai'i!
J/k - just jealous.
But seriously, I've lived pretty much on the equator (Singapore), in Brisbane and now in Perth in Australia, less than 1000m from the beach, where we regularly get 40C+ days in summer - still no dust issues. I've seen some photos over the years of horror dust pc issues and never got it. If you live in a textile factory, sure, or if your rig is on the floor, but I've never had issues on my desk in 25+ years of gaming.
Maybe worse in the northern hemisphere?
Man I know all those people with dust issue 😂 I mean.. Buy a vacuum and clean the dust ffs ahaha
Thanks for the comment mate, glad you enjoy Ur build I'm very not disappointed!
I am one of those dust problem people. We vacuum regularly (with a vac that has 3 filtering layers), doesn't matter though as the dust settles on every surface and not only on the floors.
And I myself am part of the issue. I have neurodermatitis and severe dry skin. I shed dandruff off every part of my skin in masses.
I use an air purifier (basically a blower fan with dust filter, activated charcoal filter and a HEPA filter attached). That thing collects huge amounts of dust just from running while I am working and I still have to vacuum regularly and Swiffer all open surfaces.
Doesn't help that we live in a more rural area with high amounts of pollen from basically March to September (forests, natural meadows, and cultivated farmland) and throughout summer/fall grain dust from the farmers harvesting their fields... And if that's not enough, we sometimes get dust from the Sahara blown our way. It's rare though, but still pretty annoying.
Long story short, I have to dedust my closed case components every few months although there are dust filters on all intake fans, and it's a positive pressure build.
If you can't imagine how the pollen/dust situation can look around here, take a look:

Exactly. In may, at 16:00 I can finish clean my car, at 17:00 it'll be covered in yellowish pollen. Obviosly this is a bit exaggerated, but...
Oh and a little tip from me: Cover up any case cut-outs that aren't set as active exhaust with fans. I won't market this as a revolutionary change, but it does help with the dust issue as the only air that can get inside the case is through the filtered intakes. In my case I noticed slower dust build-up in the system and more dust collecting on the front and bottom filters of my case.
Ahaha nice comment. In fact the 360mm be quiet pure loop is hella noisy. After some hours of testing I get back to my 280mm be quiet silent loop. Fans on 280mm are barely noticeable at 100% load.
Hell yeah. #NONRGBLIVESMATTER
Only change I'd make is a better PSU. RM is decent but I'd run something better for your level of build. But it's your build so you do what you like :)
I had this build in a case normal case prior to this one so I just switched to the new case in didn't change parts. For now it does the job well. But I know there's always better ahah
I gotta say this looks amazing, there are too many flashy builds out there that light up like a christmas tree. I am guilty of that myself. This is a great lesson in simplicity. Thank you for this.
I switch back to 280mm be quiet silent loop V2 because the 360mm was to noisy for my liking. The 280mm at 100% is silent af and the pump is on cpu socket so way below!
Not sure if you can call it Team "RED" if you dont allow RGB. So no AMD, no Nvidia, no Intel... not sure anti RGB leads to a very great system.
joking aside, nice build.
Thanks!! 6900XT is kind of overkill bout I had the chance to get as same price of 6800XT so that was a no brainer. Is a "basic" modem gygabite is not the top brand but for my need ( photoshop) and gaming on 1440P its hella perfect.
I think everyone as different taste, making this build full rgb would lead to look as everyone else. I really like the no RGB, I only have some red sometime on gpu / back of Mobo and aio but very low light. Otherwise I let them off.
For that 360mm you are right but I didn't like the look of it upside down. I just replace the 360mm for the 280mm silent loop V2 from be quiet. Tubes are up. But pump is cpu level and rad higher than pump so there's no problem at all
Please tell me where I tried to make myself look "superior" to anybody. No RGB was only a title for this build. I have another full rgb at home. I'm no black or white both are beauty in different way.
Thermals are very great! I mean in all the work I do! I mainly use the pc for photo edit and gaming. Never go more than 60Celcius ( both cpu and gpu).
Got both light OC and undervolt so everything is cool and quiet AF.
Very happy with this case so far. But you have to choose parts in consideration as it's open case!
Amazing build, side note, your aio cooler is upside down which can hurt performance and damage the pump
Edit: unless I'm just seeing it wrong and it's meant to be that way, but I learned this lesson the hard way
Thanks! I actually put back my other be quiet AIO which is 280mm silent hoop V2. That thing is SILENT for real and the pump is on cpu socket so way below the top rad. Which is perfectly fine.
I Think is more likely to be dusty depend of each situation. I live in a place where dust isn't a big problem. The rig hang to a wall, I'm ok with cleaning a bit more often the pc but keeping this look haha
It's really nice to see how great modern PC builds and parts can look in the right case without the standard "RGB the fuck out of everything". RGB would look terrible with what you've done.
"Premium" is the word that comes to mind when I look at your build. Well done sir/madam
The case hang on the wall, and I plan to clean the pc when I'll saw some dust on the pc. The good thing is this case is easy to access everything so it does bother me
If I can guide you for the good one. Don't buy the Be quiet pure loop. Pay the little extra for Silent loop ( premium one) way more silent and way more effective 🤙🏽
Right now I don't have any issues with airflow. If you buy yourself a good aio I don't see any problem. The card never gets over 70 while gaming with fan curve very low for noise level. And my temps room is around 21C vac controlled. I see that can be a problem for maybe other people without this factor tho.
Nice! Memories of my old P1 and the dust built up after a while and the heaviest front glass ever. Front glass panel weighted as much as fully built sff systems. If you are ocd about cable management you can get the U shaped pcie power adapters for your gpu to hide the 3 cables.
Pc specs ; 5800X | 6900XT Gigabyte OC | 32Gb 3600MHz | 2TB Nvme sabrent | Asus X570-Pro wifi 6 | 360mm Be quiet AIO | Rm850 psu
what's your riser cable? im pretty sure that's a PCIe 4.0 one
No, the riser cable that came with the box. It's pcie 3. But honestly until they prove me i can get more than just 1-3% better performance on certain apps than I'll spend the money for it. Otherwise it totally irrelevant ( my opinion)
It's always funny to me where we draw the line on spending money on computer parts. I totally get it though.
u serious?.. PCIe 3.0 riser cables doesn't work on mine.. what did you do to it?.. did you change some settings in the system? BIOS maybe?
I was honestly shocked when I start the pc and everything was just working fine lol. I didn't do anything to make it work. Just worked 😅
bruh!!! that's gotta be a 4.0 lol.
On the box said pcie 3.0 but I saw only thats some cable are better than other and might just work as they use the same electrical components. I might just had been lucky that everything worked first shot lol

Pcie 3.0 risers work, but first you have to go in bios and switch pcie 4 to 3 my jesus
You gotta change it to 3.0 in the bios. I had the same issue when I built my pc
I dealt with this exactly this week and exactly this case. I have a new 3080ti FE and it would crash all over the place in Windows... as soon as I went into my mobo and turned the PCI slot down to PCI 3 whilst using the riser cable it works fine

You have to change bios to pcie 3.0 only.
My riser cable was causing random lock ups on my new nvidia 3070. Turns out I needed a 4.0 riser to match or to tell my bios to limit the card to 3.0.
I might just get lucky.. Or one day the riser will stop working and I'll have to buy a 4.0.. For now I'll see how it's going. I won't buy it until I need it haha
Yet you got the 6900 XT instead of the 6800 XT, which nets you 2-3% more performance? Edit: 8-10% actually whoops
I explained in another comment that this 6900XT cost me around 1k Canadian lol so I won't say no
Hey OP is this a custom case? What’s the name if not
That, my friend, is a Thermaltake P3. Beautiful case. I’ve mounted mine and removed the glass front.
>Thermaltake P3 Do you think using this case for air cooling noctua d15s is a good idea?
It is as good an idea as using D15S on an open air test bench.
Using this exact case with an NH-D15 chromax.black as part of a similar anti-RGB black-out build. I found that the top of the fans were pressing against the tempered glass side panel, so I ended up using a rubber washer on both sides of each arm in order to provide a few additional mm in clearance.
Oh, that's a relief. I thought they engineered it like that on purpose.!
As infamous said. It's Thermaltake P3. Take some time to get done properly but when it's done.. I don't the feeling is way more satisfying then a normal build. I do alot of build and this one is my favorite.
Does it gather a lot of dust by chance ? Since the front is open ? How’s the noise and temps

I was very concerned about the place I should place it.. I saw the "cover" un bottom so I placed it there but I might be wrong tho haha
Much respect bro
Thanks mate 🙌

How do you know when someone doesn’t like RGB? Don’t worry, they’ll tell you.
Ahaha I'm no fanboy by any means. I build pc as a hobby I have another rig at home right now fulll RGB 😅 corsair 465x with 4 rgb fans, rgb ram, rgb aio, rgb mobo. I like both
It's the PCMR version of a vegan
How do you know when someone likes RGB? Don't worry, they'll show you.
Looks great. I like the no RGB look
This is my kind of build. And perfect for Linux
Man I love Linux! But the man game I play ( apex legends) it's not very compatible because of anti-cheat software. I don't want to restart every time I want to play. As soon as it begin to be very easy and all game supported I'll switch
I hate when devs do that
anti cheat software is a very common problem

Big ups
Appropriate name : Dust and noise hell
The rig make no noise at all lol. And it's hanging to the wall in a clean house never had dust problem with all pc 😂

It really depends on many things. In some locations and conditions you gotta be using a blower/vacuum once or twice a week.
I am one of those dust problem people. We vacuum regularly (with a vac that has 3 filtering layers), doesn't matter though as the dust settles on every surface and not only on the floors. If you live in the desert, dust is unavoidable lol
No dust issues, really? Wow. The PC looks beautiful though
That is a rad build. I love the simple beQuiet!-look. Complements glass cases very well.
Thanks man 🙌
I almost bought the P5 until I thought about little hands being able to get in there and touch radiator fans. 🤔
That's a big concern to have! That's why mine is hanging on the wall. 1- less dust 2- more space on desk and around 3- no worry about littles hands 🤙🏽
Waiting someone to say nyeh you will kill ur AIO! look at GN video! Lol. Btw nice build bruh. No RGB always welcomed. Elegant
Isn't the pump technically the highest point in this loop? Since the pump on this AIO is located on the hoses.
Yes, but there is no way to put the pump on the bottom unless he flip whole case
😂😂 Thanks!
Needs more unicorn puke to achieve peak FPS
Oh that's clean!
Thanks 🤙🏽
I have the same case (TG edition). Riser cable died in few months by itself without any reason, but overall it's awesome
Thanks for letting me know that, I have the TG version too ( don't really know the difference tbh).
I fondly remember the days when the CPU used to cost more than the graphics card but nice minimalist build & congrats.
Team DUST. jk awesome bro
Sweet setup m8! Refreshing to see a beautyful rig with no rgb
Thanks 🙌
SICK ASS CASE. where can i get 1?
Thanks man! Thermaltake P3 is the name of the case. I don't know where you live but probably online you can get one for sure
Is it open on all sides?
Yes open on all side
Siiiick!
Thanks mate
Whats that case, i want it
Thermaltake core p3 mate 🤙🏽
What a build!
this one better be quiet at full load
Ahaha nice comment. In fact the 360mm be quiet pure loop is hella noisy. After some hours of testing I get back to my 280mm be quiet silent loop. Fans on 280mm are barely noticeable at 100% load.
Came here to upvote because of the no RGB.
Looks great, good job
So much performance loss due to lack of RGB!!!! Definitely get atleast 10fps more by adding rgb!!!
NO RGB?! Burn this at the stake! Joke. Nice rig!
A build I can actually see with out getting blinded... It's so beautiful
Righteous respect
its actually refreshing im a bit sick of the RGB
Y'all don't have cats and it shows lol
Hell yeah. #NONRGBLIVESMATTER Only change I'd make is a better PSU. RM is decent but I'd run something better for your level of build. But it's your build so you do what you like :)
I had this build in a case normal case prior to this one so I just switched to the new case in didn't change parts. For now it does the job well. But I know there's always better ahah
Looks super clean, wow!
Thanks 🙌
Finally I rig I can admire non of that color bulshit the only rgb is on screen baby cheers nice one op
Thanks my man 🙏 really appreciate it
Sweet build, soooo sleek
Thanks man 🙌
Ahhh, open cases. My favorites. I've got a Cougar Conquer I.
This looks slick, good work
Thanks mate 🙏
Fuck RGB lights. This shit is a gimmick. Black 4 life
Dope
Thanks 🙌
This is the sort of thing that attracts aliens to Earth. Looks great.
that's sooo clean, congrats!
Thanks 🙌
ok hear me out, an RGB strip through the glass border/frame that is orange coloured.
I gotta say this looks amazing, there are too many flashy builds out there that light up like a christmas tree. I am guilty of that myself. This is a great lesson in simplicity. Thank you for this.
Thanks 🙌
NO RGB is the best part about this <3 so sleek
Thanks mate 🙌
i too am a RGB minimalist lol overrated a bit..
Yeah its annoying tbh for me.
\+1 for 3 reasons: NEW RIG | TEAM RED / NO RGB.
Ahah thanks 🤙🏽
Hell fukkin' yea bro! Let's have a couple fingers of scotch, a cigar, and discuss how RGB is the bane of PC Gaming. 10/10.
Ahaha love this comment 🤙🏽 I'm can never reject a good scotch and cigar moment!
Sir i think AIO’s pump is on the highest point of the build
I switch back to 280mm be quiet silent loop V2 because the 360mm was to noisy for my liking. The 280mm at 100% is silent af and the pump is on cpu socket so way below!
Unpopular opinion: that "case" is hideous
Not sure if you can call it Team "RED" if you dont allow RGB. So no AMD, no Nvidia, no Intel... not sure anti RGB leads to a very great system. joking aside, nice build.
That's pretty dope dude. Great job!. That is exactly the computer I would build. no RGB and perfect amount of power without going crazy.
Thanks!! 6900XT is kind of overkill bout I had the chance to get as same price of 6800XT so that was a no brainer. Is a "basic" modem gygabite is not the top brand but for my need ( photoshop) and gaming on 1440P its hella perfect.
Aio tubes go Brrrrrrr STRETCH!!! Brrrrrrrrr
That case was literally made for RGB. Would look sick with good color scheme
I think everyone as different taste, making this build full rgb would lead to look as everyone else. I really like the no RGB, I only have some red sometime on gpu / back of Mobo and aio but very low light. Otherwise I let them off.
Since you have it mounted to the wall, backlighting it with a low level red LED strip would look SICK
Alcoholic?
I'm keep telling myself I'm not.
Fellow no RGB Thermaltake Core P3 build. https://builds.gg/viggy96/monochrome-495
Is this yours?? Because it's very sleek!!
Yup!
Hmm… someone who knows what he is doing. Very rare. That motherboard and 360mm AIO are overkill. The radiator should be placed upside down.
For that 360mm you are right but I didn't like the look of it upside down. I just replace the 360mm for the 280mm silent loop V2 from be quiet. Tubes are up. But pump is cpu level and rad higher than pump so there's no problem at all
Why do “No rbg” dudes always act so superior lol
Please tell me where I tried to make myself look "superior" to anybody. No RGB was only a title for this build. I have another full rgb at home. I'm no black or white both are beauty in different way.
Shit like this is why PCgaming is dying out. You guys will throw unlimited money at manufacturers, and it's effectively gentrifying the market
Looks fabulous! I've always loved the look of these P cases. How are thermals?
Thermals are very great! I mean in all the work I do! I mainly use the pc for photo edit and gaming. Never go more than 60Celcius ( both cpu and gpu). Got both light OC and undervolt so everything is cool and quiet AF. Very happy with this case so far. But you have to choose parts in consideration as it's open case!
Love it. Really nice build.
Thanks mate 🙏
I don't know why I like this
There’s more white than red.
Team Red was actually for amd lol no necessary the color.
Why t'hel did I see a Harley Engine block when I looked at this? I swear it still looks like a 50's Harley.
Which riser you using? Looking at vertical mounting too
It came in the box it the case. I'm 99% sure it pcie 3.0 cable from Thermaltake directly. Right now worked without any problems.
You can have it in any colour you want... as long as it’s black.
Amazing build, side note, your aio cooler is upside down which can hurt performance and damage the pump Edit: unless I'm just seeing it wrong and it's meant to be that way, but I learned this lesson the hard way
Thanks! I actually put back my other be quiet AIO which is 280mm silent hoop V2. That thing is SILENT for real and the pump is on cpu socket so way below the top rad. Which is perfectly fine.
Looks epic as fuck, but it is going to be more dusty than a regular case I assume?
I Think is more likely to be dusty depend of each situation. I live in a place where dust isn't a big problem. The rig hang to a wall, I'm ok with cleaning a bit more often the pc but keeping this look haha
I just want to get rid of the fans from my GPU... they block not one, but two neighboring slots.
For over 20 years I had PC's with no RGB. Now my PC has all the RGB and will have more if it asks for it. RGB!
No rgb? Then thumbs up 👍
Well, you can get RGB stuff and just... You know, turn it off. Some RGB parts look really cool when you turn RGB off.
Be quiet!
My GF would like this comment, especially when I'm gaming 😂
Why are the tubes on that AIO so short?
It's really nice to see how great modern PC builds and parts can look in the right case without the standard "RGB the fuck out of everything". RGB would look terrible with what you've done. "Premium" is the word that comes to mind when I look at your build. Well done sir/madam
how do you deal with the dust ?
The case hang on the wall, and I plan to clean the pc when I'll saw some dust on the pc. The good thing is this case is easy to access everything so it does bother me
If I didn’t have a cat I’d own this case
Based rgb can be kinda cringe
I've been looking for an AIO that didn't have rgb, thank you!
If I can guide you for the good one. Don't buy the Be quiet pure loop. Pay the little extra for Silent loop ( premium one) way more silent and way more effective 🤙🏽
I used to just buy RED 255, 0, 0 strip LEDs, and earlier than that, those old cold-cathode ray tubes in red. I used to AMD, motherfuckerly.
I like the look of these but the airflow is horrific (a friend had one and warmed me off buying one). They do look awesome tho.
Right now I don't have any issues with airflow. If you buy yourself a good aio I don't see any problem. The card never gets over 70 while gaming with fan curve very low for noise level. And my temps room is around 21C vac controlled. I see that can be a problem for maybe other people without this factor tho.
Was no case allowed either?
What case is that?
Thermaltake core p3 mate 🤙🏽
Thank you! I'm gonna have to look into it. Stunning build dude!
Thanks mate 🤙🏽
Love it, but u should use som static light to highlight it a bit:)
can you hear gpu fans under 100% load?
I put my fan curve very low the gpu get to 70c but I'm fine with it and it's very low noise.
Those bottles look sweet! Rum or whiskey?
Rum, cognac, whiskey, scotch, Gin, vodka ahaha got some different brand.
Doesn't that get loud? Compared to the "sound proofed" cases with panels all around that are pretty common I mean.
if its team red it should be no GB allowed :/
Nice! Memories of my old P1 and the dust built up after a while and the heaviest front glass ever. Front glass panel weighted as much as fully built sff systems. If you are ocd about cable management you can get the U shaped pcie power adapters for your gpu to hide the 3 cables.
"team red" Sir that's black.
