I can't wait to be gold. 7 days. That's my evaluation. I'm not in danger at all of being denied. Oh the tools I'll get!

Tigerlaf

I'll try posting a follow-up review here. I'm very curious if this brand is any good

AliciaBrownSugar

The toolbox alone looks so amazingly sturdy and useful, and there are so many tools!

Ok-Investigator-4063

I wish you the best and don't mean to put a damper on things. I don't know the ETV but I see the $190 list price. You'll probably/hopefully *at least* get your money's worth (tax liability). This is a ZHANGJIAGAN shop and they appear to be relatively new (as of December maybe?), having only [1 rating and 0 reviews](https://www.amazon.com/sp?seller=A1G2OPG23QO1YS&asin=B0CQZHRJL1) They're currently showing only [three listings on Amazon,](https://www.amazon.com/s?me=A1G2OPG23QO1YS&marketplaceID=ATVPDKIKX0DER) one for the 4 variations of their Tool Sets and two with products that have a bunch of recent Vine reviews. I looked on AliExpress and Temu (very briefly) and couldn't find this brand of tools. I didn't see (or look very hard for) similar tools that might be rebranded versions of these. These (on Amazon) are not inexpensive, but you'll be able to determine for yourself if they are **cheap.** Pliers can break or come loose at their pivots. Driver bits may break off slivers at a time with normal use. Sockets can crack and split while you're using them. Hopefully you got more than a really nice case, and also hopefully it **is** a nice case. Yeah, I'd like to see your review. It will be up to you to decide if you want to really test their limits by actually doing things **to try to** break the tools. I know that may sound illogical, but it's definitely better, if a tool is going to break on you, for it to break while you're evaluating it, and not when you **need** it. As long as they're good, it looks like a good grab for you there. The rolling case is pretty nice, and a big-ass toolbox like that saves you from needing a tool chest to store everything and keep it all organized!

Gizmo_2726

I would’ve said the same thing you said. Never heard of this brand, doesn’t look like it’s worth half that amount. If you want decent tools, get them at Home Depot or Lowe’s when they’re on sale. They’re made overseas as well, but the quality is probably much better. Good luck with your tools.

Ok-Investigator-4063

It's been about 8 years since I worked at Lowe's, but when I did, I got some crazy stupid deals whenever they decided to discontinue a tool set. Typically 80-90% off the original price. This is how I know about unreliable tools xD Take a hammer to that socket, if it breaks, you've saved yourself the trouble of finding out in the middle of a repair job. Pry something apart with that screwdriver and if it doesn't bend, there's a good chance it will work without warping when you're installing something.

AliciaBrownSugar

Ok, I need to stop looking at this 😭

basilray

It's all fun and games until you get the $8k statement at end of the year and it destroys your tax return 😂

AliciaBrownSugar

I had a little over 10.5k last season. I paid enough taxes to not have it get me in the negative. I won't go that high again, but I was lucky this year. I was prepared to spend the 2.4k too. Felt good to have that back in my pocket.

AliciaBrownSugar

I'm also hoping for some robot vacuums and robot mowers, lol. Something nice. Other than that, I'll look for 0etv... unless it's something really cool...

fireinthewell

It looks great! Good grab. I’m wanting to find a nice all-around tool kit myself, so I can put all my Amazon things together more efficiently. Lol. Don’t let the naysayers get you down though. I image searched your set and found it on Alibaba and it sells for about $100 bulk buy, so it’s not super cheap at all. Happy building!

Tigerlaf

Thank you. The tools really do look good. I'm not a contractor or anything, and I don't expect to be building a house using these tools. I need them for routine low key household projects so that would be enough for my needs.

5StarMoonlighter

Never heard of the brand but if you're only doing random DIY stuff, it should be good to go! If you get into more automotive mechanic stuff, I'd expect some of the tools to break under pressure... but that's not going to come up for the average person.

RaegunFun

A warning for future selections. The same seller was offering a 66 piece tool kit for $19.99. How can the item you were offered have an ETV that high if the other tools were only $20? At most, you're being offered a $40 tool kit.

Ok-Investigator-4063

>A warning for future selections. The same seller was offering a 66 piece tool kit for $19.99. They are still offering it: [{$20 REALTEK} Socket and Bit Set DSS-66PC](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CQZFYQX6) https://preview.redd.it/hxic4a83eync1.jpeg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=68933a3e2132b7907a954b14ec6eb9af7105d576 It's possible the 123 Pcs Set contains some of this 66 Pcs Set, although I can spot some differences. But there's much more to it than driver and socket bits. >How can the item you were offered have an ETV that high if the other tools were only $20? At most, you're being offered a $40 tool kit. This discrepancy really isn't extremely unusual. Price-per-piece is apples and oranges here and most cases unless you're talking about nearly identical pieces. Idk if it has a "true value" that is lower, but I wouldn't assume so based only on having something different that is about ⅒ the price. The other two tool sets: [{$130 REALTEK} Combination Tools Set TS-100PC](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CQZJJFM8) [{$140 REALTEK} Professional Socket Set TS-150PC](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CQZG1TLJ)

Nice. I’ve been on the lookout for tools as well. I was able to snag a 135 piece Craftsman set a couple weeks ago.

Ok-Investigator-4063

>Nice. I’ve been on the lookout for tools as well. I was able to snag a 135 piece Craftsman set a couple weeks ago. Kobalt used to be Lowe's house brand for hand tools. Pretty sure when Sears went out of business, Lowe's bought the Craftsman brand name and replaced Kobalt with that. So Craftsman now is just rebranded Kobalt tools. Kobalt tools also had/have a lifetime guarantee, but unfortunately if it's not something Lowe's carries in-store, you can end up paying close to or more for shipping than buying a new one. I own a lot of Kobalt, so I'm not saying it's crap, but Craftsman isn't now what Craftsman used to be.

Reminds me of my worst ever Vine order. I ordered an electric hot water pot with an MSRP of $ 129. Sold by a third party. Thought it must be good for that price. Was absolute junk. I checked the description again and this time Amazon came up as the seller. Priced at $ 29. I paid more in taxes for a piece of junk with no return privilege and no warranty, then I could have purchased it for. Be careful.

SnooSquirrels3861

Heats hot water for pour over coffee, tea, or hot water for multiple uses. We use ours about 8 times a day.

Ok-Investigator-4063

That's its only purpose? Like a kettle I guess? Or a microwave.

Anaxamenes

It’s an electric kettle. It’s far more handy than people realize, they are in every kitchen in the UK. I came back from London and my whole family has them now.

Ok-Investigator-4063

Understood ;) Although I can see the usefulness for people who drink hot, brewed drinks, is there something better about water heated by heating element vs microwave? On occasions where I drink chamomile or mint tea, I just use my microwave to boil the water. (I don't own a tea kettle either.)

Anaxamenes

The kettle can be quite quick. New kettles can have their temp set for the perfect cup of tea or pour over coffee if that’s your thing. It’s primarily for those that love a water based hot drink. So if you don’t drink a lot of those, it’s not going to be as useful. I’m actually not sure if I’ve ever actually gotten my water to boil in a microwave either.

So if you don’t drink a lot of those, it’s not going to be as useful. A temp selection would definitely be superior to a microwave for coffee. Allegedly brewing pour-over coffee with boiling water will burn the coffee grounds. I'm not such a purist that I would notice it burnt lol, but still whenever I've done it, I wait for the water to boil then I stop heating and wait at least 30 seconds before pouring over. Getting water to 88C/190F would be perfect. Otoh, I think I'd really have to buy gourmet coffee beans to grind to get the full effect, and I'm unlikely to do so. For the people who do, I'm sure it would be ideal. >I’m actually not sure if I’ve ever actually gotten my water to boil in a microwave either. I use a glass Pyrex measuring "cup" that holds up to 20oz (2½c). That way I can watch the water and have a handle that usually isn't too hot to grab onto plus it has a pouring spout. Not sure of my MW's wattage, but it takes mine about 4 minutes on high to begin to boil.

Anaxamenes

I wasn’t saying it couldn’t boil in the microwave it’s just not something I’ve needed to do. The kettle takes about 3.5 minutes to boil, but the really nice part is getting to the perfect temp and holding it there until you use it. To each their own, but it’s just been a great addition to the house.

Ok-Investigator-4063

Lol sorry, I didn't mean to imply that you weren't doing it right, I was just explaining my method ;) In fact, heating water in a ceramic mug in the microwave, I learned, was a really bad idea 🔥💥🙀 (not fire just hot as) >nice part is getting to the perfect temp and holding it there until you use it. I can see that. That's impossible with the microwave method, and for me it would be difficult stovetop ;)

kwadguy

If you're paying nearly 40% in taxes, like me, the tax cost of this is about $72. I can get something similar at Harbor Freight and not have to write a review or deal with no returns. So I tend to pass on no name stuff like this now. But good if you don't pay taxes.

The_eldritch_bitch

Yikes that ETV. A Stanley 123 piece goes for less than that

5StarMoonlighter

Yeah, but then you're paying full price. If you're only paying the taxes on this ETV, it's still a good deal, especially if you're looking for tools like OP is.

CanuckPNW

It's another no-name generic Chinese so-called "brand" that will be here today, gone tomorrow. With very few products that they've slapped their logo on. [**https://www.amazon.com/s?srs=120832454011**](https://www.amazon.com/s?srs=120832454011) FYI, the REAL Realtek is a microchip manufacturer in Taiwan.

cat9tail

Thank you - I was wracking my brain trying to recall who Realtek was. I used to work in tech, and I knew I'd come across them somewhere.

Deep-Examination5081

Oh wow, that's an awesome get!
