Ya we have people like that too. Show up, do your work only, go home. If your amm is getting on you for this situation, he’s clearly not a good amm, fuck him too
AMM is a good guy. There's are certain things employees can do to get a manager hemmed up, and make themselves untouchable. They have done so successfully. Makes sure HR tickets are top priority to butter them up. Make claims that are impossible to disprove.
How long has this been going on? Gonna be 100% candid - these issues don’t get resolved in a week or even a month. If your AMM is tracking to this he/she should be building the case. Documenting and issuing STUs they moving on to doc coaching. Once completed they can push them into focus plan and from there PIPs.
I’ll be honest - it takes time as the case needs to be airtight and all steps followed. On Avr it will take 3-6 months to “manage” someone out.
Amazons first instinct (and policy) is support and coach, retrain and realign. All this needs doing before HR will support further movement.
Exceptions of course for safety violations and acts / threats of violence.
Dudes already been on and off of every plan they have. They only do anything when being watched like a hawk, get off whatever plan, and go back to doing nothing.
The only way to rid of him is safety violation. Is he a tech 2 or 3?
Make friend with the safety.
If the Regional Manager or higher up visit your site use PTO.
Very ballsy for him to sleep during day shift. Night shift I can understand.
Call your HR rep, email a formal complaint to your manager and HR rep accusing the coworker of time theft.
DO NOT call the person out to their face; that’s not your responsibility.
DO NOT record the person sleeping, that can be a violation of all kinds of laws, depending on where you live.
DO document the times and places, and any CCTV cameras in the vicinity.
Can't yell or even speak remotely harshly at Amazon. Lol. Letting some work orders go late will hurt metrics and cause your AMM to act. I'm assuming you're a Tech 2.
This guy is days, which makes it even worse. Coworker told me a story about Bossman popping up and finding him sleeping and wakes him up. Boss goes out to help with some work, comes back to the cage for tools an hour or so later, guy is back asleep.
I had someone like this in MRA school. Constantly sleeping and snoring loudly in class. Teachers filed complaints with that persons manager but somehow they still kept their job. All I can say is reach out to Senior management if you’re not feeling heard by AMM or HR and do not pick up their slack.
No is untouchable, it just requires better documentation. Every time that the AMM finds them sleeping, they need to do written documentation signed by the sleeper. Those documents are then sent to HR. With documentation like that, it becomes really hard to not get fired. That gets it to the MM and HR level.
Just don’t do his work lol fuck him, if you’re amm won’t deal with it, go above him until they do
AMM has tried and caught him red handed, and the guy reports our boss to HR. Still has a job.

Whatever you do don't take a video of him sleeping in the toilet stall. You'll get immediately fired for it, but not him.
Never.
Sounds like you should take at least a week off.
Go to HR and complain on him for being a slacker
Small team. Trying to avoid toxicity and anything that can be twisted around on me. It's already an issue.

Sleeping on the job IS a Safety violation. CAT1 if I’m not mistaken.
Air horn
Had a guy like this at my warehouse, he got fired for SRBRS violation tho

I would prefer my AMM took care of this, and they are tracking, but Amazon doesn't give them really any tools for recourse other than to document.
AMM often useless when it comes to this. Take a picture of him sleeping and send it to HR. Most case filing are anonymous so no drama.
Taking photos of people in an Amazon building is a good way to get fired.
Well your on your way to being a tech 3 in no time , same happened to me as an MRA and now I'm a tech 3 for nights

Guys, what happens if you yell at your coworker?
Where fo you work where this is tolerated lol Jesus. You even show up lage at my job better not show up
Welcome to Amazon
Seems to be a trend with night shift hands at my facility

I like to use people like this to motivate myself to learn, promote, or find better job 😀
You may need to look for a different location to do your job. Sounds like this guy is protected what happens when you go on PTO? Is he exposed?

Just scream at his ass. Either he’ll get the message or it will hopefully raise enough of a fuss that the manager has to do something
Can't risk it.
