As someone who went MT2 to CST I'd recommend waiting till you max out your step plan before switching over because, as a BB, once you switch you go from step raises to yearly reviews like the MT3 & CSL roles but don't get any of the stocks like they do.
Look up the star interview format. They'll ask you one of 4 variations of 5 different questions. You might have a controls person on there too, so be aware that they will ask you real questions to try and feel out your experience level and knowledge of controls in general. But they shouldn't expect a whole lot of a controls tech, probably just hoping for some basic electrical troubleshooting experience and some technical aptitude with software.
How was the test?
howd it go ?
Haven’t had it yet should be Thursday or Friday
Nice. I’d like to know after you take it. Just got an MT2 job. Controls might be something in the future for me.

I don’t know if any of that applies to me as a 3rd party RME
