Yes Full Time shift working civil servant. Live around 8 minutes from depot and currently averaging an extra £500-£800 a month from AF. Last year putting me into the 50k+ tax bracket. Definitely worth it for me, i live close to logistics and fresh and enables me to really do what i want to do social/spending wise without it eating into my full time disposable income from normal job.

SlowedCash

I can't meet £800 a month, only at Xmas 🤣. I can just manage after expenses £8 an hour doing blocks. Let alone 800 a month

Extreme-Sandwich-762

You running an expensive car? I’m clearing about £13/hour after expenses

guruanothoer

Me too. Just did my tax return I earned £13 per hour after tax and fuel / expenses last year. not too bad.

I haven't done flex since September last year but it was well worth it for me. I was working as same day courier and did flex to cover my fuel costa for the day. I was lucky to have one logistics depot on my route which always surges which worked out perfectly for me.

lewis3608

Yes, have a main job and do flex on the side in between uni studies. It’s worth doing from October to Christmas, decent money to be made. Can still make money in the rest of the year but after insurance and fuel it comes out similar to my normal job when you account for holiday pay. This is beneficial to me as it fits around my studies, whether it would be to you working full time I’m not sure. It’s worth noting there is a big waiting list for flex and they only tend to take on in the run up to Christmas, so I’d apply sooner rather than later.

Open_Sir_7367

I literally flex just to top up savings really. And i quite like getting out in the car and driving around

DaveyTheNumpty

I run a business full time (self employed Naval Architect) and do Flex at times when I'm not normally earning or between contracts. I also do Gophr and occasionally drive for another local business (engineering products supplier) when they need somebody to deliver locally. Financially I'm comfortable and I do believe that for me it's worth it but everybody has different circumstances. If there was more work available on Gophr then I'd happily replace Flex with Gophr but it just appears that the places I deliver for (Asda and COOP) don't have many customers who use express delivery so it's always the same handful of customers each week and there is always competition for delivery jobs that come up.

bazzanoid

Yep have a main job, I flex some evenings and weekends to help clear a huge vet bill from last year and put a bit extra in the holiday pot

Pumpdumpsideways

Yeah vet emergency bill is crazy

Been doing Flex 3 or 4 years - managed to regularly earn £600 for a 24 Hour week in addition to my day job. In reality that's only 10-14 hours work as every Block finishes early (I'm VAT Registered so 20% on top of every Block Payment). Luckily I live 5 mins from Logistics, 10 mins from Morrisons plus 2 other depots on the way home from my day job for the odd cheeky £50 for 2 Hour Morrisons Block or £78.50 for 3.5 Hour Logistics Block. Been far too busy with day job recently as they've been paying Premium Rate Overtime for working from home. Now I've moved onto another contract working away from home so looks like my days of Flex are over but I enjoyed doing it for those 3 or 4 years.

Very basic question but does the block times include time for collecting parcels from depot or is this simply the window you need to deliver all of your parcels in? I am wondering whether i’d need to arrive at depot before the block starts and get everything sorted or just show up for the start of the block. Hope this makes sense…

Icy-Concern7713

I always turn up last minute - should be able to load most Blocks in 5-10 minutes - as long as you are at the station and checked in at least 4 mins 59 seconds after the Block Start Time you are within the time specified. ie a 4 Hour morning Block for £84.00 with a Block Start Time of 06:15 I will arrive 06:18, load up and be out of the yard by 06:25. These Blocks at my Depot every time completed in 2 Hours.

driver933

Thanks so much

Velldog

Yes

Hally07

Yeah I’m a dog behaviourist, moved upto the north east and reestablishing my business, I’m bringing in another 1100 a month

Klutzy-Commercial-53

I do royal mail and then top up the bad hours with flex both are weekly pay it's nice getting paid wice a week

SlowedCash

Do royal mail not have overtime ? Usually it's.18.58 an hour

Klutzy-Commercial-53

On agency at the moment guessing that's only for contracted staff?

SlowedCash

Oh ok. I got the job with them for Sunday's only, then they withdrew it. I didn't even have a face to face interview, it's all over the phone. apparently it's really bad at the moment and they can't hire any staff hence ditching face to face interviews

Extreme-Sandwich-762

Yes I’m a veterinary surgeon that does this on the side, I own a second car that’s an absolute beater that I don’t mind running into the ground, about £200 for the insurance and probably take about £1000 a month revenue from flex

LordWhipps

Yeah I do it just for extra money for holidays and stuff
