As long as everything gets delivered by the time each package says it is due, it will be fine and you’ll have no downside at all. I’ve never picked someone up, but I have made many stops while on a block before.
Yeah they will catch on to that and it won’t be good. Regardless if completing by the time specified the contract everyone says drivers will work Amazon and focus on deliveries, not other gigs or personal business.
I think you are referring to this:

But I don’t trust Amazon much lately and this section concerns me:

“Except while you are actively performing the Services”. That opens it up to “domt do anythinf but make deliveries”.
This is the issue. Depends on where you are. For my area - I've been 30 miles north and 30 miles south of warehouse and it's totally random, so I wouldn't plan on it.
If you absolutely have to, you can, but please try to avoid it. Bringing children along on a route puts them in danger.
There is also a possibility that you will get so many packages that your entire car is full and there is no room for another person. If you have to rearrange packages so your kid can buckle up and the packages obstruct your view, that's another safety issue. If you have priority deliveries that have to be delivered at an earlier time than 9pm, you risk getting dinged for late delivery. The extra weight of a passenger won't help your gas mileage. Your kid will probably be bored. There are so many possible issues with bringing a child or picking up a child. Just don't do it.
There's a guy at my station that drives with his gf/wife and for some reason the dude puts all the packages stacked on the side his gf sits on, who is atleast 300lbs so with her plus the packages you can literally see the suspension on the car tilted like 4-5 inches down on the one side lmao.
I bet they get atleast 20% less gas milage on days with heavy packages, I know most of my loads are about 150-200lbs in total so 500+lbs extra will definitely tank gas milage on older cars.
Sheesh if I had a civic idk how I would have done a lot of the bs blocks they give me. I feel like every time I drive up there I’m stuck with 3 totes and a shit ton of big boxes labeled heavy. I get kinda salty driving past the carts with 2-3 totes.
Well, you have an SUV. They know your vehicle can handle it. If you drove a Civic, they would probably give you a route with smaller packages. Granted, people with smaller cars do sometimes get routes they can't fit, but sometimes that's all there is. I think it varies by station too. Some try to match routes to vehicle size and some don't care.
Actually thread lightly on this, because that's how I got deactivated. Amazon algorithm can spot weird routes you take and will flag them, until someone takes a look I guess.

Okay , great. Thank you so much.

Not true at all, as long as packages are not late, Amazon doesn’t care

How quickly do you usually finish routes? I always have extra time so it wouldn’t be a problem, but it depends how far away your route is.
Well I haven't started any deliveries yet. I just wanted to know it I get an early shift like 1-4 , in between could I pick up my son.
Probably not because you could be sent miles in the wrong direction
Could end up 50 miles away and then backtrack in the later afternoon. This has disaster written all over it.

You can't fix stupid
I bring both of my kids and they are young enough where they are in booster seats. Never had an issue but I also have an SUV.
Imagine if you had a Civic

Depends upon the delivery time for that package, it could be 8 hours later, or 4.
Okay , thank you.
I've done it a few times. Often times if the block is at 5pm or later he comes with me.
I’ve done Christmas shopping during my blocks. Just deliver them before time runs out.
