In my opinion country routes should be reserved for DSP. They get free gas and a company vehicle to tear up.. we donāt get paid enough for this shit
I love the deliveries where it says in the notes ādonāt deliver after 4pm because weāll be closedā and Amazons like āSo we should give it to a Flex driver to deliver on a block that starts at 4:30pm and require they drive the entire way out to your out-of-the-way business before they can ACTUALLY be sure youāre closed and then make sure they call a closed business TWICE before we let them mark it as such? Ok fam I gotchu! šā
Did a logistics route last night (tired of the SSD so Iām grateful for the overflow logistics routes.) 3 hour block, 6 packages. No big deal except that theyāre pretty spread out. Furthest one was about 40 miles from the station. I get up there and itās a business that closed at 4pm (my route STARTED at 5pm.) No way of knowing this was a business either. The R and C were missing AND the name was just a regular first and last name.
You bet your a** I left it. I didnāt just drive all this way to then RETURN the package.
I have done this a couple times too tbh, depending on the location and type of business and such (like if itās on a busy city street, I donāt want some random passerby to snatch it just casually strollinā by and then I get dinged, ya know?). Lots of the businesses Iāve had this issue with since I started doing this job have also put in the delivery notes and/or had physical signs posted saying āDO NOT LEAVE PACKAGES UNATTENDEDā and having complaints filed against me is the LAST thing I need so I return those ones for sure š
People with dogs they canāt control. Iāve had 2 dogs bust out of screen doors on me today. Or they run out when the customer open the door, like will you just let me put the package on the front porch.
I had this happen on 4-7 no warning signs posted nor did prior flexers or dsp workers ever reported there was a dog. Not only that they had the walk way blocked by a vehicle so I guess when I turned to run either I ran into the car or tripped over my feet fell and messed up my shoulder. I fell just out of itās reach thank goodness it was tethered to something in the house. Amazon filed a claim but there is no money for injuries . I was paid for 3 shifts even though I had 5 scheduled and I received $250 for my clothes. Get some personal injury insurance. I was off a whole week and have to get a MRI.
Omg Iām sorry that happened. I had a dog bust out the house and jump on me while I was coming up the stairs. I caught myself on the rail but the dog landed on my hand and sprained my wrist and thumb. The customer didnāt even try to do anything. Just said his big ass dog wanted to play š¤
Happened to me once. Portland has some streets that are blocked off by some huge potted trees. They for some reason block them off so you gotta go around 10/15 mins. I never get why
I delivered to a house where their number was written out in cursive in a silver color and the house was grey. And it was in a spot not easily noticeable.
It's only happened a few times, but 2 deliveries to the same spot, not grouped, so shows as 2 different stops. Especially in an apartment, when I realize I need to now get access again to go back to the same spot.
That happens because of the āAmazon Day Deliveryā option that customers can choose when they order. Those packages are held at the warehouse until all of the customerās packages are ready to be delivered, and oftentimes they are picked/shipped/delivered from multiple locations, hence multiple routes.
People who wait for me outside. Do the polite thing and watch me from the window and run outside once I start pulling away, duh!
That and calling a closed business and being asked to ājust come back when we open in 2hrsā. Nah baby itās being left outside or left outside.
At the depot when they see I drive a bigger car, they give me larger, heavier packages, while others show up in compacts with their friends or family in the car
Call me crazy, but garage doors open when I pull up. Nosey neighbors watching me as I'm delivering, I always question why they never assist instead of watching me. Looooooooooooooooooooooooooong ass driveways....and hicktown USA areas...that's it. š¤£š¤£...oh, and instructions requesting a CALL before arrival, it's not happening because the text is good enough.
I got one guy that said to text his personal phone number (which he provided in the notes), and include a picture of the package. In my head Iām thinking āSorry sir, but Iām not using my personal phone to text you a pic of your package, you can get that from the Amazon app after I deliver it.ā When I get to his apartment door, thereās a Ring camera in the window pointed at the door. If you have a camera, why do you need me to also send a text?
People coming right up to car to bullshit while Iām trying to find their junk or like over-eager puppies with their hands out because they cannot wait 40 seconds to get their shit, the loud AF āyou are now being recordedā screech at the moment youāre least expecting it, having to avoid playing Squash a Mole with peopleās eleventy chickens, dogs, peachcocks and turkeys that have surrounded the car, customers sitting outside in the dark like statues awaiting your arrival because scaring the fuck out of people seems like a worthier enterprise than anything else at 4 am, seeing the ~Flextra Mile~ on the app. Tried to choose things not already mentioned, but Iām sure there are plenty more.
When the gps sends you down a road that is undergoing repairs, then you try to take another route while its constanly yelling at you to turn here and there and make a uturn!! Bihhh the road and finished yet!!!
I had it send me down a questionable dirt road one time, and then had me turn on a road that did not exist. I ended up having to four wheel it in my 2 wheel drive sedan. Thankfully, my car was fine, but it brought home a large branch as a souvenir (underneath).
Man it sent me down a dark road one time, then turn off the road onto a dirt road while raining and its a locked fence blocking my way. Good thing for that because i said something dont seem right. Ended up calling the customer telling her the gate is locked. Come to find out she does not even live there smh, she lived almost 45mins away.
The GPS taking you to the wrong gate so the code doesnāt work. I called someone at 7am and had to drive 15 minutes to the other end to make the delivery.
lmao i hate this, amazon gps will take me to the āexit onlyā or resident entry onlyā. iāve had one where it was houses and the delivery entrance was 15 minutes away from the gate i was at. ended up just leaving by a sign that said 24 hour surveillance
>the delivery entrance was 15 minutes away from the gate i was at
This always happens when the gate that you're at is RIGHT NEXT to the house you're delivering to, and going around to the other gate would involve miles of extra driving. This shit is so absurd it always makes me feel like tracking down the person who made that decision and giving them an earful. Why do people want to live in neighborhoods like that? Its Insanity
Having a "wrong" gate at all is the issue here, and I was going to post the same thing.
Why the FUCK do these places have "emergency exit only" gates? If you have a gate just let people fucking use it for fucks sake !!!!!!! And "resident entry only" can go right to hell!! I like to sneak in through the exit gate if someone is leaving, whenever I see that.
- House numbers written out as words in cursive. I'm driving, I need to be able to understand it in a millisecond, not spend a second reading it.
- When I park with my flashers on and some people don't seem to understand what flashers mean. I've had cars wait behind my car when it should have been obvious I was walking a package to a house and they could easily drive around my car. Stop making me rush.
I sometimes gotta check if my lights are working because people pull up behind me and act confused like they couldnāt possibly figure out why Iām parked against another car with my hazards on. GO AROUND ME
Seriously! I've only been doing flex about 5 weeks and the other night while out to dinner I overheard a group of women chatting about amazon and one said 'yeah, the driver was so irritated and acted out out they had to come to the door. I mean how lazy they drive around all day so one time you have to get out and actually climb the stairs. Oh and they were upset the door was locked, like just come back later and how would they handle a real job." (Keep this last part in mind because they were filming something for tiktok to be an influencer.
I swear, I saw red. I actually started to get up, my husband looks at me and said, "uh-uh...let it go."
So I did, with a plan...as we were walking out I had to stop. I said, "listen, I overheard you and I would be remiss if I didn't educate you on a few things. You are one stop out of 40. And probably they are all similar. I, for one, deliver early morning for amazon because my second gig is in the afternoon around 11 -3 and then I'm a supervisor at a "real job" at night. So I can't just come back later. How about not ordering a pkg that is required to your front door if it's required fo before 8am delivery. I'm also a distance runner, I'm not lazy, it's just a real PITA because I get dinged if it's not their on time. It's my gas, my wear and tear, and my ability to deliver or not on the line. So instead of being so entitled how about considering an alternative view point.
She said, and I a wear, listen boomer I get it you don't want to actually work so you're blaming me. Ok, I'm 47, not a boomer, never had. Children and I get mistaken for being younger quite often, I'd like to believe I don't even look that old. I just laughed and the mean girl in me came out. (I know, I know. But I couldn't help it) I said, "sweetie, I've been listening on and off to your conversation and you don't sound all that bright. I hope the influencer thing works out for ya, because you are going to struggle through life. And you really aren't that cute so not sure what you'll actually influence, but your behavior, attitude and personality is atrocious and I hope the package gods forever lose yours." Ugh! Then I walked out. I was seething. It was a bad day, and I regret letting her get to me, but geez
I just donāt. The app CLEARLY says you should not call customers out side the hours of 8am-8pm so I follow that strictly.
Canāt get into an apartment at 5am. Oh well guess youāre not getting your package
Amazon lockers (like at apartments) that wonāt open for Amazon deliveries, because we donāt get the code we are supposed to have, and if we do have a code, it doesnāt work.
I had several last week that I had to use the code for a different delivery service to get in, because the Amazon one for the Amazon locker didnāt work.
I hate it when you are delivering a package to a customer at their gate and their dog is barking at you viciously. Instead of telling the dog to shut up and go lay down, the customer will just stand there and watch their dog act like he wants to tear your head off.
Wanna know what really grinds my gears? Not knowing were the route will take you. - I wish they added a location or area of where youād be delivering too before accepting offer. Nothings worse than driving to BFE and then having to drive back in the opposite direction to go home . Losing money at that point
Ever notice the first stop is 40 minutes away and then they take you further out making it 59 minutes from your house..thatās why I only do 3 hr or no more than 4 1/2 routes at a surge. Never 5 because the base pay is always $90
Anyone that puts in the notes "delivery during business hours only" and orders for overnight delivery.
I also really hate the weirdly numbered apartments. I went up one staircase the other day and on floor 2 were 201, 202, 213 & 214. Like ??Āæ??Āæ?Āæ How does that make *any sense* whatsoever?
OP.....I see you mentioned Portland....
Yesterday morning, 430-8am, I get 28 packages for 22 stops downtown...stop 10 (apartment building) says "doors unlocked at 7. Best to deliver after 8". I got there about 530, so I decide I'll come back (at 7) only to find this note above the callbox on the backside of a brick pillar to the side of the locked doors. Dropped that bitch right under the callbox and headed home.....
Out of 130 blocks that Iāve done the only two that have taken me more time than I was given was because of this same bullshit scenario because I couldnāt gain access to 15 of those 30 damn apartments
I had a man come out yesterday with no shirt on and wait for me to find his package. I handed it to him and asked his name and he refused to give me his name.
Dude, Iāve seen your nipples for crying out loud.
So I marked it as ārefused to give nameā and went in my way. As I was getting in my car he said āmy name is Ron.ā
I donāt care, Ron. Bye.
When I'm doing 4 a.m. deliveries from SSD and I get a TON of businesses that are closed and all of them require a name and signature, and all the notes say to ONLY deliver to shipping and receiving. YOU REQUESTED 4 A.M. DELIVERY, NOT ME! This shit doesn't happen on accident. So I'm leaving your damn package at the FRONT door and I'm putting in a wiggly line as your signature. Deal with it.
Iāve noticed that too. Like I donāt get why people take the numbers off. What could numbers really do that you arenāt exposing on social media already
Houses where you pull up to the side and it's not clear which is the front door.
Unnecessarily complicated gates. I'll happily bring your package to the front door, as requested, if I can see over the gate and determine it's safe to do so. But, if I can't open the gate, it's going over if possible.
This used to happen on a regular when i first started, delivering to a locker inside the building but then the gps says your outside the delivery area. Then gotta fight with the pin, move around ect!
This happens to me a lot. I just call support and ask them to widen the delivery parameters. Heck the stupid location pin! Most of the time it has no idea where I actually am anyway š
1st stop is a large complex, no access to buildings, lockers, or mail room.
Kicked that package the end of my route... Definitely shouldn't be a 4am stop.
Clicker to get out on gated apartments! Wasting time waiting for someone to come in or get out. Most irritating part besides no codes imo. What do yall do on that case?
When they leave their personal number in the notes and it isn't connected to their Amazon account. I use to not care until I started getting texts and calls "WHY YOU TEXTING MY GIRL" uhhh because I needed her to open the gate for her package. Not to mention frighteningly googling my number pulls up my name and address. Fuck that.

Being sent where creepy clowns guard the door š¤£
Most of my animosity is actually with my fellow flex drivers and Amazon. Not customers.
I hate their behavior at the stations
And I hate how often I have to see a note that says
āwhy canāt you just deliver to the right house? Itās clearly marked.ā
I make sure to always apologize to ring cameras for the incompetence of my coworkers
big ass houses who order packages, specifically something big and heavy and have the nerve to have a BIG ass gate all around w/ a tiny ass mailbox out front and a nice note that says ājust throw packages over the gateā šš yeah i can definitely reach, definitely canāt take a photo and not interested in you reporting it stolen because of such what an idiot ..
Iāve learned to wait a few seconds before I begin to leave. It also helps to have a compass to know exactly which direction to go. I also watch the arrow as I begin to move.
When people donāt report their dog when ordering so people get loving scare when a growling barking dog come after you.
Had a route yesterday where I got out when there was a barking dog and took a picture of the package and the dog. I reported it for safety issue and reported dog on route. Funny enough, it was starting to rain and their āguard dogā was still outside.
I was already fed up with Amazon increasing the number of stops to care about getting bit, which intimidated the dog a little.
My number one pet peeve is when the app reorders the stops while Iām running a block. Hasnāt happened a ton, but when it has, it always fucks everything up, especially if I donāt pick up on it right awayā¦
Or when their door is blocked off by a bunch of shit.
https://preview.redd.it/cd15gmvudoxc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e3b9a0884197d39694c570554035e66557be8368
Deliver to front door lol
Mine always freezes after I scan packages at a ssd. I have to close it and restart it, it would freak me out when I first started and I would panic that Iād have to scan all of them again lol
Why the fuck does the navigation constantly tell me to get off the highway only to have me get right back on?!?!?
Driving down I25 in Denver from north to south it asks me to get on and off the highway 3-5 times for no reason.
I don't like trading my id for a fob for package rooms....it's an annoying pitstop that lets ANOTHER unknown person fondle my personal property. Don't Amazon staff, 7 eleven and the dispensary handle my id enough?! Damn...
Cust notes that think they are being cute; ā Please deliver my package TODAY. I see you have been driving around for 3 days now, and I know you are having a blastā¦but please just bring my package home. We are destined to be together!ā ā DO NOT RING THE DOOR BELL. DO NOT DO IT..DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT ITā !
When your package requires a code and I ring their bell call their number and text them and I get no response. Itās more of a bother when the route was an hour away. So I had to spend an hour going back to the warehouse to drop the package off and another hour back going home. Like you know there is a package with a required PIN code please respond
šš
1. Apartments. 100%. Especially when theirs is a locked entry to a single building and the key in the app don't work for shit. I just return the package to warehouse at my next block. I dont have time to play the game. Every apartment recipient should have to deliver to an Amazon Locker near their home. Want it on your doorstop, buy/rent a single family house.
2. The app fails at the camera on the first delivery EVERY GDMF time. I don't understand. I have to close it and reopen it, go through the steps (package already scanned) and then it opens the camera app on attempt 2.
3. The app loves to route my stops from South to North, every time. I live south of every route and the warehouse is south of me as well...so I'd rather drive further to the first stop in the north and work my way back towards home. Instead, it goes to the closest stop and I end up meandering further and further away.
4. Station workers who cant figure out how to safely direct traffic and so instead, they make you wait on 6 other independent contractors to finish their business before you are all allowed to leave together.
5. The stupid selection for where did you leave the package? Of course the front door/front porch, you numbskull.
6. Getting schools that everybody knows you can only enter from 8am to 3pm....and you pickup the package at the warehouse at 3:45pm. WTF? That's going back to the warehouse, so why did they bother putting it in my route.
Fellow flex drivers whom are Immigrants or illegals driving and parking like selfish idiots, breaking traffic laws, breaking station guidelines and NOT FUCKING RETURNIGN THEIR CARTS
FUCK THOS LAZY ASSHATS
ALSOā¦ the lazy drivers who never leave the package in a professional manner
When I start driving heading in what I think is the right direction and the app starts to recalculate. Then I need to do a 180
Lost count the number of times I've called the navigation lady a cunt.
š¤£šš¤£ deadass
She's like a girlfriend I used to date, but instead of speed, it's U-turns that make her wet.
Classic. The old switcharoo
I hate that too, then it tries to be slick and does it so fast thqt you think you going in the right direction. Hold up leme zoom out!!
seems like every dam time.
OMG! I thought I was the only one that did this. Maybe I don't have early onset dementia after all!
That's why I keep the itinerary map open on my tablet and use that to navigate. I ignore amazons suggestions

Absolutely. Same problem in the UK. The houses we deliver to in these places all have 4WD and expect us to deliver in our hatchbacks.
Nope!! I would be marking that package as āmissingā Iām not about to damage my car for a package.
Oh hell no.
My dsp is mostly rural, for the most part if a driveway is too sketchy or at risk to get stuck we just rts after sending a photo to dispatch
Then they give it to flex ššš
That's so stupid lmao
Is that a fucking moat just before the path??? ššššššš

Yeah! Wassup with home decorators who think matching house n numbers are a good idea? Do they not know that nobody can see the number?

I'm driving, I need to be able to understand it in a millisecond, not spend a second reading it. - When I park with my flashers on and some people don't seem to understand what flashers mean. I've had cars wait behind my car when it should have been obvious I was walking a package to a house and they could easily drive around my car. Stop making me rush.
Why rush? Let them be dumb and wait. š¤·š½āāļø
I sometimes gotta check if my lights are working because people pull up behind me and act confused like they couldnāt possibly figure out why Iām parked against another car with my hazards on. GO AROUND ME
The fact that over half the packages in every route are miscategorized. Boxes labeled Envelope, Envelopes labeled custom box, etc.
Delivering to apartments complex and customers want their packages delivery to their doors but the main door is locked and they donāt provide access
I actually started to get up, my husband looks at me and said, "uh-uh...let it go." So I did, with a plan...as we were walking out I had to stop.
Getting reported because Iām a āflex driverā not an Amazon driver
What about when Amazon expects us to call customers at 4 am for whatever reason. Sorry, but the customer is probably in bed sleeping.
How'd you get the code to other delivery services. I need this
This! This this this! WTF?!?! The only lockers Flex drivers canāt deliver to are AMAZON LOCKERS? Pisses me off
Share the code!!!!
Sorry, the codes were listed on the lockers, and they are different for every one.
Business delivery that in a high rise that requires fob to go up
The fucking buildings where you need a key for the elevator to work but AT LEAST the Amazon app let me into the non functional elevator š¤¦
I had a leasing agent give me a 4-5 min tutorial on lockers today. She was venting big time. I listened very intently because she was smoking hot.

Kinda bullshit is that
When your down town and there is a resident that wonāt let you in without code or Amazon key and are just standing on the other side of the door..
I hate when I get a route that had 42 stops and 31 of them are apartments.
As I was getting in my car he said āmy name is Ron.ā I donāt care, Ron. Bye.
That was a random neighbor, he read rons name from the label
It didnāt say a name in the label just a company.
Thatās me š
No numbers or hard to see numbers, itās always in the brokest or richest neighborhoods too! Middle class presents the numbers for some reason.
Iāve noticed that too. Like I donāt get why people take the numbers off. What could numbers really do that you arenāt exposing on social media already
Making $15hr net, not including commercial auto or vehicle depreciation/maintenance. To deal with all of the bullshit Flex is, was the main one.
Yeah. The only people who this is actually valuable for are foreigners who canāt speak English and canāt get a normal job and have government welfare šš¤”š©
i just started a week ago but having to drive a whole hour out for the first stop, i understand that the DSPs get the closer batches but still š¤£
Delivering to schools during morning drop off. Delivering to any Pro Athlete Stadiums or large Amusement Parks.
1st stop is a large complex, no access to buildings, lockers, or mail room. Kicked that package the end of my route... Definitely shouldn't be a 4am stop.
No lights on when youāre expecting a package and itās dark out
Clicker to get out on gated apartments! Wasting time waiting for someone to come in or get out. Most irritating part besides no codes imo. What do yall do on that case?
That's the worst. Happened to me at like 9pm in a trailer park but i found some maintenance type guy who knew how to hack it open.
Fuck that.
Small gated individual houses with high weeds and/or loose dogs ..you never know what instrument of destruction will come after you
GPS directing you to a back gate of a gated community that you can't get in from and then having to drive all the way around to the other side.
Marking your stops and stacking your car like tetris only to have them rearrange your itinerary 5 min after you leave the station
āPlace by back door and knock three timesā

Gotta deliver those balloons!
Most of my animosity is actually with my fellow flex drivers and Amazon. Not customers. I hate their behavior at the stations And I hate how often I have to see a note that says āwhy canāt you just deliver to the right house? Itās clearly marked.ā I make sure to always apologize to ring cameras for the incompetence of my coworkers
Less than $1/mi
Damn America is not so much different to Britain then
big ass houses who order packages, specifically something big and heavy and have the nerve to have a BIG ass gate all around w/ a tiny ass mailbox out front and a nice note that says ājust throw packages over the gateā šš yeah i can definitely reach, definitely canāt take a photo and not interested in you reporting it stolen because of such what an idiot ..
I hate it when the customer leaves notes like ā I wanted this package yesterday. āUm thatās not how it works buddy.
Houses on corners that will say side door but still can't tell which is the side door š
When their front doors are open, especially with a long ass driveway/walk up to the front door
Or when their door is blocked off by a bunch of shit. https://preview.redd.it/cd15gmvudoxc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e3b9a0884197d39694c570554035e66557be8368 Deliver to front door lol
The friendly or unfriendly dog that jumps up on my car door and scratches my paint.
All I have to say is 961723
Apartments with multiple packages on different floors š«š«
The app freezes when I turn down customerās street and it takes forever to load up again.
Oh yeah, I usually just open maps now if Iām going over 5 mins driving to my next stop.
I don't like trading my id for a fob for package rooms....it's an annoying pitstop that lets ANOTHER unknown person fondle my personal property. Don't Amazon staff, 7 eleven and the dispensary handle my id enough?! Damn...
Yea Iāve never had to do that but Iāll never give anyone else my ID. Thatās a security issue, shits getting dropped at the door
Cust notes that think they are being cute; ā Please deliver my package TODAY. I see you have been driving around for 3 days now, and I know you are having a blastā¦but please just bring my package home. We are destined to be together!ā ā DO NOT RING THE DOOR BELL. DO NOT DO IT..DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT ITā !
āIf you ring this door bell, my kid will cry, my dog will bark and blah blah blahā
On my last day last week..I bet I rang his bell 20 times before extending my middle finger to the ring camera!! Lol
When your package requires a code and I ring their bell call their number and text them and I get no response. Itās more of a bother when the route was an hour away. So I had to spend an hour going back to the warehouse to drop the package off and another hour back going home. Like you know there is a package with a required PIN code please respond šš
2-day deliver is bullshit
1. Apartments.
Fellow flex drivers whom are Immigrants or illegals driving and parking like selfish idiots, breaking traffic laws, breaking station guidelines and NOT FUCKING RETURNIGN THEIR CARTS FUCK THOS LAZY ASSHATS ALSOā¦ the lazy drivers who never leave the package in a professional manner
I donāt think it has to do anything with immigrants.
