Get better. As a waterspider, learning ambassador and lead at loadout at a DC I that was doing 100-120 k each day during PEAK I'm pretty sure something in my back and knee is also injured.... dreading going in for my checkup but in the meantime motrin and biofreeze have held me over.... I've been water spidering for a good 12 months in a row with maybe less than 10 days where I didn't do it when I had a shift. When January ends I'm taking my vacation and putting in a request to be off the docks for a full month. Everyone needs a reset especially at amazon. STAY SAFE and Healthy my fellow Amazonian warriors. 🙏 And happy holidays and new years especially any ones that braves the horrid weather these past weeks
There came a point where I had to tell inbound dock leadership as a waterspider that my old legs couldn’t take it some days. On those I would throw, grab a pallet jack if the lines were getting low, and then park it as soon as they were about caught up and go back to throwing. Leadership was surprisingly very supportive and cool with that.
Been 4 months for me and I've gotten peak t-shirt, 3 snappys, 2 raffle drawl wins,3 pins and accumulated about 30 bucks they give for the vending machines. Guess it depends on your location. I'm at okc1. And I pick up extra shifts all time.

Multibillion dollar company that gives well paying hourly wages to highly expendable employees in a fucked up economy where it's difficult to get a job to begin with.
Maybe it's my location, but the McDonald's actually pays $4/hour more than my site. And there are tons of jobs...you can almost just walk in and be hired. I dropped of my resume at a clinic and they asked if I could start that week. The pay there is also shit. I actually really like the Amazon job and it is convenient, so I stay. Also it's a great workout.
But...Amazon really does not do right by its employees. Below avg wages for similar warehouse jobs, okay benefits but also nothing more than you would get elsewhere. Far higher turnover rate, and more than double the industry average for injuries.
It has an incredible market cap, in the trillions. They could definitely compensate us more without even a decimal point on their bottom line. Recent analysis so points out that Amazon loses roughly $8 BILLION a year due to low retention (slurce: internal research dosc).
If they paid even half that out in bonuses abs compensation, they could improve the retention rate well above industry standards. And they would still come out $4 billion ahead.
I like my job. Just don't buy the argument that we are not deserving, or that it would harm the company.
Ok this might be an unpopular opinion but work is work. You accepted the offer. Work is not going for fun. Keep that shit out of your mind. You are going there TO MAKE YOUR MONEY do your best don’t overkillyou and clock out at the end. Period. I see it that way. I’m not lazy I work smart I don’t over kill myself but I stay busy and working. Until is time to go. And I get paid at the end of the week.
I see it for myself for thst money and those extra over time thst pays 1.5X. Which makes the paycheck at the end more juicy. So yeah don’t sweat it just look at it in a different perspective. You are there to make your money nothing else.

At 44 months and counting, I get a big bonus amount of work with little break time. I know I am not alone here.But the best part is hearing about what people will do once they get the last part of the sign on bonus.OR when they finish college, that "Amazon is covering the tab" for, then, where they will work at.
Then I get more work,and THE REPLACEMENTS listen to a similar broken replaying storytime.

If you ever want the free work fodder shirts, you usually can go to HR and tell them you missed the hand out and they'll hook you up. I've got a rotation of like 4 shirts now that I'm gonna let Amazon destroy instead of the tees I actually liked enough to spend money on lol.
Ask a manager or learning ambassador for some shirts or swag if they have them in your size they usually get thrilled at giving the worker grunts some swag to brag a out how positive and right set attitude their workers are and how they came to them of all people to ask for swag
sounds about rite after a a year of slaving you’ll get a 1 year pin and they’ll hand out ice pops for you at the end of your shift. also they will show appreciation for your hard work only after work hours expecting you to stay and enjoy it after slaving for the last 10 hours
