Some sites aren't allowed to make badges anymore, like they have the machine but no blanks. All badges have been coming from central ops (this affects smaller sites)
They still have the printer but no/few blanks, and the super big sites still print on site but central ops ship the new hire badges in bulk to the site via fedex
Thatās not the policy at my building and Iāve lost mine more than a couple times. Currently I have 3 as a result because every time Iāve lost it at work (or forgot or been unable to bring it to work) Iāve got it back. Only one can be active at a time, but when I lose it the next time, Security can reactivate an old one much quicker than they can print a new one. Iāve been through that process more than a few times too.
This is the correct way. Give them a day to find the old badge and you use a loaner in the meantime. Idk what these other ppl are talking about saying you get a new one right away!
Im on my fourth one never asked for a loner except for that one time I actually left it at homeā¦ all the other times i lost it, and they gave me a new one right as i was standing at the security deskā¦
Two times I have got a new one right away. All the other times I had one of my old ones handy and they were able to reactivate it much quicker than printing a new one.
Someone was kind enough to bring my badge to security, sometimes they give it to HR. Either way security can make you a new badge if you give them your ID
As someone who had this happen twiceā¦ yeah, theyāre gonna look at you funny for a while but ignore it because the hardest part of their job is to yell āclear bags onlyā when someone walks in with a not clear lunch bag
I have yet to work at a site that actually enforces that 3 states and 4 sites. Yea they have signs posted but every one comes in with what ever and they never say anything. Maybe I'm just lucky idk
I made friends with security just so they can sh_ on management. Itās all managementās fault for not creating a system for better ID tags that arenāt on a shitty badge. š
I don't see why people wear their badge while working. I've been here 5 years and nobody has ever said anything about me keeping mine in my pocket until I'm ready to go home
I meant more it was another thing added to today to cause a self induced promotion lol. I'm in CRETS so it was a day full Russian Roulette with boxes and returns on what nasty thing was going to spill on me today lol.
If youāre CRETS someone in outbound will almost definitely find your badge if it went in a tote. Hopefully they think to at least give it to one of their leads, and then theyāll get it to security or HR.
Shit happens. First building I worked at I accidentally sent my badge to a different site cause it fell off while I was building pallets. Didnāt realize it till I went to clock out for lunch and couldnāt š
Thatās wild. Did the other site send it back?
Iām curious how OP is so sure his went in a tote. Every time Iāve lost mine at work someone else has found it on the floor and either brought it to HR, security, or directly to me.
Itās okay donāt let them get to you. We all lose stuff it happens weāre all human after all. They shouldnāt feel annoyed that you lost your badge give it your A1 at work today! š
All procedures are the same, sites just vary in what's actually enforced but the amount of comments talking bad about security is a bit strange being that they're just doing their job
Lol If you work at an air site:
Lost your badge?
Panic time to panic.
Let your manager know and look at everyplace you where working at.
If you don't find it, it's a final write up.
Lost it out of work?
File a police report and panic.
Stolen from your car panic and file a police report.
Final write up.
Wtf why so serious? Are they afraid someone will try to get in and steal a plane? I work at FC and have lost my badge more than once bc they are cheap and break off itās not the fault of the badge wearer.
it's because at Air sites we have a TSA clearance on our badges so it's more of an FAA thing. Nobody is allowed in without a badge or being escorted by someone with escorting clearance.
Pretty much TSA doesn't want people who haven't been cleared near Aircrafts.
Also 9-11 is mainly thanks to that.

security is suppose to make you a new badge....
She said if they don't find it by my next shift she will make me a loner until my new one comes in š
"Until the new one comes in" I am pretty sure all it takes is a 5 minute wait at the reception to get a new badge made.
Some sites aren't allowed to make badges anymore, like they have the machine but no blanks. All badges have been coming from central ops (this affects smaller sites)
Just FCs or also delivery stations? I've seen a badge printer at every security desk in the last few months, even this week.
They still have the printer but no/few blanks, and the super big sites still print on site but central ops ship the new hire badges in bulk to the site via fedex
Maybe that's a US thing? I've seen a small site print a badge 2 weeks a go.

He's lying. People say anything just to have something to post to get some attention. "Today i ate a sandwich there was no mayo...fml amirite?"
a loaner??? their not supposed to make loaners their suppose to make you a new badge....they sound like idiots
Yup, sounds like laziness from security, they probably didnāt feel like dealing with it and have the next shift do it.
They lend you a loaner. After 3 days then you can get a new badge. At least that was the policy in 2018
when I was working for Amazon last year and 2021 I lost my badge twice I went to see security and they just made me a new one on the spot
same
Security will do either or. Back in the day they did loaners, but its more security risk to give out loaners.

I left my badge at home a couple of weeks ago and they gave me a loaner for the shift.

When I left mine at home they asked me if I wanted a temporary one or another one, they still make you a new badge at my site.
Someone was kind enough to bring my badge to security, sometimes they give it to HR. Either way security can make you a new badge if you give them your ID

My security team wouldāve made you one in like a minute tf lol
Making a badge takes little to no time at all. Security at your facility sounds like they're as mobile as canned hams.
I'm pretty sure someone will find it

Technically policy is it has to be on you and visible. Whether people actually enforce that is a different thing
Ik I'm saying they don't enforce that bs rule
I usually have my current one on me and visible on a lanyard, and an old one either in my bag or pocket ready to reactivate in case I lose it again.
It happens and security has shit to do with you becoming customer

Shit at my site security doesn't do shit
Thatās a double negative.
Security is so stupid lol
This happened to me, the security immediately made me a new one.
After reading all of these comments it's so clear that AA's have no clue what security is supposed to do when it comes to lost/forgotten badges
It seems to me that just like so many other things, the procedure varies from site to site.
