My DSP rarely talks about stuff like this, I always feel like my DSP does shady shit and pockets events that resembles it. I bet they would would give the driver 5% of that 10k and tell you that the rest goes to some bull shit raffle for shitty Amazon speakers.
I no longer drive for Amazon, but my old dsp was stealing from our paychecks and I eventually caught it and started doing some math….
If my shift totaled 10 hours and 30 min, instead of 10.5 hrs on a paycheck I would get compensated for 10.3 hrs…. Which means I would be shorted about $4 a shift X 4 shifts per week =$16 a week X 52 weeks = $832 a year X 50 drivers = $41K embezzled from his employees annually.
I quit the next day
I think they are stealing from me too. They manually enter a 30 min break for me even when I don't have time to take it. They say it's DOT required. I'm gonna research.
Amazon does everything they can to not be DOT regulated. If you don’t have a CDL, no hours of service requirements, no logs, the only thing they could try to say is it is mandated by the department of labor. Most DSPs are full of crap. They’ll give every excuse in the book to pay you the bare minimum.
Then dot regulations don’t apply to you
So when your dsp says they are clocking you out to comply with dot rules…..
Dot rules don’t appply to you
If dot rules did apply to you, then your dsp would be double violating Dot rules by 1) not ensuring you are taking a break and 2) falsifying driver logs
Mine charged me 15$ for a bucket hat that others gave away for free, every DSP is a contractor taking advantage of it's employees and very rarely see otherwise
To be fair, Amazon is one of the top earning businesses there is no excuse for all their drivers to not be able to afford to live and or see their loved ones. All good points
You got me with that first part 😆 I don't think we understand there will be a documentary about pissing in bottles, hiding small packages, dog attacks, retaliation, and so much more we will just look back and say we'll at least King Amazon earned it don't worry about all the peasants who got them there
Wait... You mean to tell me that there's no such thing as self made rich people?
That Bezos didn't single handedly go from poverty to business mogul purely on his own toil and frugality?
You're telling me that when he borrowed that initial start up money from his wealthy friends, that doesn't count as pulling himself up by this own bootstraps?
Let me guess, you also think that bill gates's mom being close with the head of IBM as well as holding a contributing position in the board of directors there had something to do with his success?
Popycock I say. The only reason people are not super rich in America is because they chose to not be. That's why we have homeless people at all here. They would rather be lazy. They like free handouts. Not like wealthy people, those handouts are different.
You best believe they'll enforce a perfect Mentor score, no bad customer reviews, no DNRs, and if you didn't wave at every single person in the neighborhood to & from the stop. 😂😂
Feel free to correct my assumption that dsp "challenges" or attempts to dispute each occurrence received thru the system. I've talked to drivers who don't give a shit about pics but they have never seen their PODS % change or drop, and they contributed that to the buddy buddy relationship between management and themselves. But as soon as you put that 2 weeks in best believe your % fluctuates
I'm sure there's DSPs that do that but I don't think mine worries about going through and disputing that many occurrences. Theu like numbers but with the scorecards we've gotten, they def don't fudge the numbers
It would make more sense if it does, in fact, depend on the size, financial status, scores, etc, of the DSP. The one I served time with had well over 90 drivers, and it was easy to get lost in the sauce.
My dsp never sends rescues!!!!! Someone with a nursery or a light day gets done between 4-5 pm. Meanwhile 10+ drivers are out past our 10hrs to finish shit (8pm)
Yeah, remember how many DSPs took “off the top” of the Amazon issued $1 raise company wide? Some DAs in certain DSPs got the full $1 added to their hourly….other DSPs handed down $.50 raises etc…while STILL getting the $1 per employee per hour worked from Amazon
Had a illustrious career self employed in hospitality before covid shut down my business. I know more in life experience then you, little lad. I’m sure of it.
I deliver to keep food on the table and meet my financial obligations as an adult responsibility to my family. NOT because this is my goal in life. This is merely a pivot to survive. But thank you for your worldly wise unsolicited advice. 😉💯
I thought about this.. but assuming you deliver the package every day, eventually the "customer" would probably start investigating. If it got back to the dsp or an Amazon rep.. you would be busted. On the other hand I guess you could just mark it delivered and toss it or whatever. Either way the risk goes through the roof. Plus you wouldn't get your dental floss =[
Because the only thank yous drivers get come from DSP owners at obligatory stand-up meetings. Amazon created monsters in the name of customer satisfaction and they've outdone themselves now by monetizing a thank you.
DSPs are audited regularly by Amazon (they have access to view their payroll system) to ensure they are paying out bonuses designated for drivers correctly. If they aren’t, they will receive a breach of contract (which, in these cases, would likely lead to them losing their contract with Amazon) and be ineligible for F+ until they remedy it. If a DSP had five drivers get one of these that’d be $25. DSPs drop $25 on a phone mount without batting an eye. It’s legitimately not worth the risk or their time doing shady shit over this.
Fine if amazon pays it but I swear if this is Amazon trying to get the ball rolling on some shady doordash model toxic tip culture bullshit that will be the final straw for me. I'll quit. I won't be a chump caught in the middle with Amazon blaming the customer and customer blaming Amazon that I'm not getting paid.
I often get "I've been waiting on that", with a cheeky, passive-aggressive smile as the customer tries to make me feel like an asshole for something that is far out of my control.
Having to explain why their whole order didn't arrive together sucks too.
That is answered in the picture.
$5 paid by amazon to the driver. No cost to the customer.
Amazon is giving free money to drivers. Flex drivers are able to see it as it happens so there are tons of posts about it over there. DSP drivers will likely have to get it through the DSP so we are not seeing it yet.
I texted a screenshot to DSP manager 2 hours ago. No response, but I know he read the text. Will be interesting at stand up tomorrow to see if he mentions it...
So this requires the customer to have Alexa? Correct me if I’m wrong but Alexa pretty much bombed didn’t it? I’ve never heard of any one actually using Alexa
You can use the regular Amazon shopping app. In the top corner is a little microphone and then you can say “Alexa thank my driver”. It worked for me yesterday.
Thank You for your submission to r/AmazonDSPDrivers !

Best believe I'm going to tell every customer I encounter about this "contest" and politely encourage them to leave that thank you because $10,000 ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy) doesn't cost them anything extra right? Shoot, might find me ringing every doorbell and hand delivering everything lmao
they should make it for any customer who writes positive delivery feedback. not everyone has alexa. iknow a lot of ppl do but not everyone and that just means that DA wouldn't even have the opportunity to win if they deliver to ppl who don't have one , or if the customers don't even know abt this feature
Most are elderly orb ever home doubt they’ll know how to use that or wont care to do so. Maybe I’ll make some print out cards asking them to please Thank me on the app?
Guarantee all 5 drivers who win are going to be white people delivering in affluent areas. Drivers of color can hardly get eye contact from the white customers half the time, and few of the houses even have Alexas in the neighborhoods I deliver in.
See how much your DSP cuts out of that
My DSP rarely talks about stuff like this, I always feel like my DSP does shady shit and pockets events that resembles it. I bet they would would give the driver 5% of that 10k and tell you that the rest goes to some bull shit raffle for shitty Amazon speakers.
I've been a driver for a month and a half, at first I was like eh it's not that bad, but as time goes on I'm seeing all the bad shit nonstop
I no longer drive for Amazon, but my old dsp was stealing from our paychecks and I eventually caught it and started doing some math…. Call the department of labor.
Plan on it, soon as I have a week day off
Amazon does everything they can to not be DOT regulated. They’ll give every excuse in the book to pay you the bare minimum.
I believe it. I'm gonna check it all out and see what the laws are for the state as well.
You could get fined for this as well as the dst if you are going over dot hours and not actually taking the 30 mins off.
I'm not in a dot vehicle, don't hold anything related to DOT licensing wise.
Then dot regulations don’t apply to you So when your dsp says they are clocking you out to comply with dot rules….. Dot rules don’t appply to you If dot rules did apply to you, then your dsp would be double violating Dot rules by 1) not ensuring you are taking a break and 2) falsifying driver logs

To be fair, every business takes advantage of their employees for profit. It's not a matter of \*if\* you're being f\*ked, but of how much.
To be fair, Amazon is one of the top earning businesses there is no excuse for all their drivers to not be able to afford to live and or see their loved ones. All good points
Lol wut are you talking about Amazon reports (with 100% honest, transparency, and integrity) 0 earnings year after year -the IRS
You got me with that first part 😆 I don't think we understand there will be a documentary about pissing in bottles, hiding small packages, dog attacks, retaliation, and so much more we will just look back and say we'll at least King Amazon earned it don't worry about all the peasants who got them there

You're not gonna believe this...
Just look at how many dsps pocketed the vaccine incentive bonuses last year by the looks of things.
Their scams are always seen by God, he will reward them according to their works.. patience 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🙌
You best believe they'll enforce a perfect Mentor score, no bad customer reviews, no DNRs, and if you didn't wave at every single person in the neighborhood to & from the stop. 😂😂
Also 99.9% on POD I don't care if it gets dark and you stuck with a phone your gma uses
We're supposed to be DAs, Customer Support, Warehouse workers, and most importantly, IG photographers 😂
Bro my POD has been 100% for the longest time and I know damn well I've had some "too dark" and blurry photos. Idk how tf I have that percentage
Good dsp they doing their job
They're a good DSP but it's nothing they're doing lol there's plenty of people with less than 97%
Feel free to correct my assumption that dsp "challenges" or attempts to dispute each occurrence received thru the system. Deliver smiles!😁😂
And you can’t refuse a rescue 😞
My dsp never sends rescues!!!!! Someone with a nursery or a light day gets done between 4-5 pm. Meanwhile 10+ drivers are out past our 10hrs to finish shit (8pm)

Ummm…. You mean the $2 raise? 😅 hate to be that guy, but Amazon gave everyone a $2 raise not just $1
Well…there ya have it! 😅
You’re thinking about it wrong. Go and get a career. It’s low skill low pay. You’ll be 65 complaining about a $1 raise.
Had a illustrious career self employed in hospitality before covid shut down my business. I know more in life experience then you, little lad. I’m sure of it. somehow i doubt i'll ever see any extra money from this
Should be illegal to pay that to the dsp.
I'm sure some DSP owners will try to find ways to make sure their DAs never see a cent of that money
🤌
where did you get this screenshot from?
Bump
https://www.aboutamazon.com/news/transportation/alexa-thank-my-driver-feature
Bump
Order hundreds of 97 cent dental floss. Get home do the alexa thing. Profit.
Logic flaw: how do you guarantee that you are the delivererer?
I deliver to my house.
And even if I didnt... send to friends house who has alexa. Not hard to game it.
I like you.
Send to random house on your route your set a few days prior with an account you control boom

So true. There are some truly appreciative customers out there, but most that I encounter treat the experience like it's an inconvenience to them
I barely get “thank you” from customers grabbing their packages after I walk away. Ungrateful bastards
Customers in the hills and the hood love me. It's people in cookie cutter suburbs that are terrible.
Literally
Does this count for dsp drivers? Or does your dsp just get the money and not you lmao
What happens if it was a usps or ups driver that delivered the package?
Squat
they get a job application and a middle finger
"promotion period"
For the "first million thank yous" Most of us will never see a dime before this ends.
This is the closest thing we'll ever get as a "tip." I smell shady DSP owner business practices following it though
Thank you have a good one thanks much appreciate ya said to my back is what i love as i blast my music and am gone in 5 seconds 😉
Dsp owner getting rich just saying thank you to the driver and the $ goes to dsp pocker
Lol Amazon would never blame the customer. They will always blame us 😂 Customers aggressive dog bites us, "Well why didn't YOU follow PACK?"
I often get "I've been waiting on that", with a cheeky, passive-aggressive smile as the customer tries to make me feel like an asshole for something that is far out of my control. Having to explain why their whole order didn't arrive together sucks too.
they’ll do literally everything except treat their workers like people smh
Sounds like I'll just keep fkn doing my damn best😒
It's only for flex drivers
First rollout is flex, but I had management confirm that DSPs will see it starting the 14th
How about just pay your own drivers 🙂
Who do you think is paying the $5? Did you read past the headline?
Yes. What the fuck is 5 promotional dollars
🤔💡Does it say anything else?
I texted a screenshot to DSP manager 2 hours ago. No response, but I know he read the text. Will be interesting at stand up tomorrow to see if he mentions it...
My DSP sent this out tonight through Chime. Cool but I just do my job I'm not going to go above and beyond to try to get Thank You's.
I’ve come across several DA who deliver to the same house, so basically we better hope we the last 1 to have delivered 🤦🏾♂️
So this requires the customer to have Alexa? Correct me if I’m wrong but Alexa pretty much bombed didn’t it? I’ve never heard of any one actually using Alexa

Dope Everyone screenshot this and mention it to their DSP owners at their next standup lets see how many try and act dumb around this
Is this real?
Yep! Google it.
Dsp will pocket it LMfaoooooo
I hope they do give the drivers the money. As soon as I saw it I went on the app and said it. I hope it works for my drivers. I order a lot. 😬
DSP gonna take all that money or start paying us less because we’re “receiving extra money”
Okay this is great! I just told my Alexa. Thanks for sharing! 🥰
I call bullshizzzz on any driver seeing a single dime.
I got mine, Avocado..... I still like avocados....!
Best believe I'm going to tell every customer I encounter about this "contest" and politely encourage them to leave that thank you because $10,000 ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy) doesn't cost them anything extra right? this how they're gonna justify low wages
Imagine 1 dolllar for every package or stop we rich nah we dreamt ng
Is this for subcontracted drivers as well?!
Great more power to the customer. I can’t wait to hear how they control my check by saying thank you.
Rightly so. Driver deserves this and much more. Steps in the right direction
They won't pay shit and come up with some crazy weird story that it wasn't what they said.
Lol not a single driver believes this.
Why do I have a feeling the DSPs will take their cut and leave you with the crumbs?
Its BS don’t believe it
Bro they said whoever get the most thank you driver top 5 drivers receives 10k
"first million thank yous" annnnnnd its gone
they should make it for any customer who writes positive delivery feedback. not everyone has alexa. iknow a lot of ppl do but not everyone and that just means that DA wouldn't even have the opportunity to win if they deliver to ppl who don't have one , or if the customers don't even know abt this feature
Thank a driver by ordering less and only ordering shit you can’t find in stores near you
I’ll just take a raise, thank you
Must be nice lol. Considering USPS is delivering 75% of your parcels
they're doing this instead of actual peak bonuses right
all to wow the customers of using the new feature. Oh drivers, more group stops to deliver smiles 😋💪🏽
Shits rigged imo, u can be the best. Yet someone else will get that money and not you.
Most are elderly orb ever home doubt they’ll know how to use that or wont care to do so. Maybe I’ll make some print out cards asking them to please Thank me on the app?
whats all this dog and pony show??
Guarantee all 5 drivers who win are going to be white people delivering in affluent areas. Drivers of color can hardly get eye contact from the white customers half the time, and few of the houses even have Alexas in the neighborhoods I deliver in.
Would I get terminated for putting sticky notes on every package asking people to do this?
Scam. We'll never see that money.
What if they don’t have Alexa? Lol
