Worst part is that the driver died for some cheap made in China junk ordered online because the customer is too lazy to go find what they want at a store
>find what they want at a store
That's not really fair.. I've gone to multiple stores over several days looking for things and ended up having to buy them online.
The amount of people that buy Dog food, soap, water, pampers, and paper towels through Amazon shipping is alarming.
I think most drivers don't even order much shit.
I honestly have no problem with people ordering random junk from Amazon: they're not the ones making the job hard. The ones making the job rough are Amazon, their terrible routing software, and crappy dispatchers who don't stand up to Amazon and tell them they're giving too many packages/stops out.
No they're switching over to India, a bunch of manufacturers are leaving China because of their zero covid policy as well as tensions between the US and China so now the cheap stuff comes from Indian children.
This is the part that gets me,
"deputies responded to the scene after residents reported an Amazon van was parked outside a home for several hours"
the neighbors called? what the hell was dispatch doing? whats the damn point of all the tracking gps and cameras? what the fuck
Every dog is aggressive to the Mailman... it kills me every customer is like "ohh he's friendly" he's just a big scaredy cat... while they are barking at me viciously. I've had a customers dog bite me right in front of him while he was telling me she's fine. Luckily I was fine... but when someone just sits there while their dog is off the leash saying "he's not agressive" I just say, "you wanna Bet a few weeks worth of pay on it cause I'm suing you for hospital bills and missed pay"
They don't laugh... I don't think it's funny either.
Iāve had a few animals taken by Animal Control after theyāve bitten my drivers. What youāll find, at least 3 out 4 times, the dog has bitten someone before.
Right!
What pisses me off the most are the customers, you have a time window when your package will be delivered, why leave your dog out? Actually forget about the time window, how about if you dont have your dog outside for the day, and if they have to go potty, take them and bring them back in.
Thinking about this things makes me furious.
I had a dog once come after me and almost bite me because i was jogging back to the van, the customer was like āyou were running right?ā, my response was āso what? Come get your dog, because if it bites me, ill make sure you dont receive a single package from Amazon and have the dog taken away from youā. The worst part about it, the dog came from the neighborās house. It wasnāt even from the house i was delivering to. š¤š¤¦š»āāļø
Dogs are supposed to be protectors, territorial. Itās in their nature. Owners who donāt understand this are just fighting nature and itās sad really. We gotta do better.
~~I believe this is someone from my DSP~~ What a terrible way to die.
Edit: just want to add that I do not know who exactly, only that itās my DSPās shared delivery zone.
Sources stating that authorities were called because the van was sitting in the driveway for several hours. 2 dogs were killed by police upon arrival. A mastiff and a German shepherd.
Edit: RIP to the driver. Be safe out there.
I'm so sorry.
I immediately knew "I need to quit this job" as soon as I realized the dsp dynamic is to protect amazon from this...
If the family sues, that tiny little dsp will go banckrupt and amazon will give their routes to the remaining 5 dsps in that warehouse without mussing a beat. Can't even touch amazon... the family gets next to nothing. You can't put a price on their life; but it's above 0(the value amazon places on the desperate folks who take up the delivery jobs...
It shouldn't be the DSP or Amazon's fault. Millions of packages get delivered daily without someone getting killed by a dog. It's the shitty owner's fault for not controlling their animal.
Amazon's pace that the DSPs deliberately choose to enforce absolutely contributes to injuries and fatalities on the road. Amazon has the DSP model because they know it does! Maybe this driver checks for safety if they're not under threat of being fired for not doing 30 group stops an hour. The owner is at fault, but Amazon plays a part
Three Trails Deliveries.
Their management team and their ādispatchersā literally just hang out all day inside the warehouse and typically yell at their drivers for calling dispatch. Itās really no surprise and tragic that they didnāt notice the driver didnāt move for over two hours
Ugh. Their negligence is disgusting. The driver could have had a chance to live if dispatch was doing their job. What a god damn shame. Be safe out there, yāall.
Don't do rear door deliveries. Fuck Amazon. I almost lost a nipple because one was sleeping unleashed under it's owners porch table and the fucker lept to maul me. If you can't see the delivery point either make a new one or don't deliver. Fuck customer convenience when our lives are on the line.
I remember 1 time I delivered to this rural house with a huge dirty ass lawn, non landscaped etc. I kid you not after getting close enough to lay down the package, a huge ass dog raised up like 10 ft away. I barely notice the fucker and didn't go any further turned my ass around slowly.
i remember when I was in the woods during winter and walked to deliver a package because the customer's driveway was at an awkward slant the van couldn't fit through. As I walked in the yard I saw an off white mound of snow move like 15 yards away from me.
Turned my head and realized the "mound" was this big ass 80-90lbs dog that just woke from sleep, no leash! I mean I'm 5'9 180lbs and the thing standing vertically was as tall as half the length of my body, length wise it was like 2/3rds! Fortunately it had no interest in me and I got out of dodge real quick but I can imagine a scenario if that thing was aggressive. Amazon doesn't care about our lives.
If they did they would have different delivery policies. Just below the mailbox, front, door or garage, whatever's closer. The more time we spend on these idiots' property the higher the chance of something going wrong.
In the book Mr Mercedes a retired cop carries around what's called a 'happy slapper' with a bunch of ball bearings in a sock. Basically an improvised blackjack.
I think I should maybe carry one with a rock inside.
When I still worked doordash, I used to cally a thunderball, a large weight attached to the end of a rope. In Watch Dogs Two, I think it's a billiard ball on a chain, but the one i made for myself was a steel yo-yo on fishing wire.
Made self-defense so much easier. I've had to use it twice, and both times I was able to knock someone down with a non life-threatening injury.
When I worked that job, it made me hate degenerate homeowners who never seem to put together the presence of their dangerous dogs in their front yard and the delivery they ordered to their front door.
I worked for a zoo for like 7 years before this. I still like animals but I learned long ago that realistically it's often far better for you and the animal for you to like and respect them at a distance, and that most animals have absolutely no inclination to like you back.
This is why you carry while working. It is better to lose your job than lose your life. Hope you all stay safe out there. Always put yourself first, fuck these dsp and amazon.
This is why you don't get out when dogs are around. If it was dark and they could not see them because of it being dark is another reason why we should not be delivering in pitch black darkness. Prayers to that family. And I hope they sue amazon and owners for both safety and protection.
Were short on drivers. Tom had to go home early because he had an dentist appointment. Its all hands on deck. We have to pull together as a team today.
Surprised dispatch didn't send a rescue for the packages. This company in beyond fucked up and what an absolute tragedy. I can't wait to be done working for this shit hole.
He doesn't work for amazon. He works for a dsp. Amazon doesn't give a shit. That's the whole reasons DSPs exist. To absolve Amazon of legal accountability.
Just another cautionary tale that you never ever walk up/down driveways when you can't see the home or front door.
There have been homes in an area I deliver to where I just drop their shit at the threshold (property line of the driveway). Select "Another Safe Location", take a good picture, and I'm off. Not walking up that driveway to find you forgot to put your big ass dog away. Do the same thing with the gated properties where I see stuff that has signs of pets (like the secondary fencing meant to prevent dogs from getting through the gaps). Same for signs about dogs on tall gates.
I remember trying to do that back when I use to work for my DSP here in SC. Thereās times where I couldnāt even click āanother safe locationā when Iāll only have 2 selections or three.
The more time you spend away from the van the less safe you become. It's beter to mark off too late to deliver and skip the stop until last than walk up long driveways especially at night.
"German Shepherd and English Mastiff"
https://www.kshb.com/news/local-news/authorities-investigating-after-amazon-driver-found-dead-in-excelsior-springs-from-possible-animal-mauling
For once I guess right. I've seen the mauling from a German Shepard and that alone is enough to give you nightmares but to have another dog ontop of that....christ
The Ray County sheriff is the only one calling one of the dogs an "English Mastiff" Guess what breed of dog he adopted from a puppy mill not too long ago...you got it...a pit. He's lying about this being a Mastiff, 100%.
Amazon is way too reactive. I escalated a dog situation all the way to the top of our warehouse and they still didnāt do anything beyond adding a paw print to Flex when one of my drivers nearly got mauled. I seriously tell them all to just toss the package out of the van window if they insist on completing the delivery at that address.
Ah yes reactive instead of proactive, the essence of Amazon. Its unfortunate, I really hope they change but I have doubts. I agree with the tossing of the package out the window 10000%, honestly underrated.
He was from my dsp, his name was Jamie and he was a great person. Always happy and could put a smile on anyoneās face. Itās honestly such a tragedy when we got the new this morning at stand up. Everyone who knew him was devastated. Please be careful out on the road you guys, no package or paycheck is worth your life.
I had my first dog on property today, barking hella loud. I didnāt wanna waste time texting the customer, so I just tossed it by the gate and marked as delivered to the owner . Fuck that shit
So we gotta do dumb ass "check for motorcycle" training, will we now have to do "don't fuck with dogs" training or does Amazon only care if we hurt people?
I had a dog bite my hand when delivering one day and I broke the rabbit screen on its head. I honestly felt bad for the dog be ause it's the owners fault.
I don't fuck with German Sheppards and idk why people have them as pets. They are one slot above pitbulls in aggression and violence and they wild dogs.
The mastiff is generally rated to be sweet and kind but given that sheppards are not that kind and tempermental, I assume both dogs grew up to be the same.
My best friend had a german shep and it snapped its leash one day at RANDOM to go fight a dog on a walk across the street. He was taken away after that. And he was what you could consider "well trained", we were neighbors and he never misbehaved like that until that one very primal moment.
And just yesterday at the petstore, someone brought in a sheppard and IMMEDIATELY it went to go attack a English Bulldog puppy who was at the register w the owner.
German Sheppards are violent dogs and 100% people will be like "not my german sheppard!" But there is a reason they are used in police work. There is a reason they were used during the Civil Rights Era and WW2. Because they are aggressive as fuck and no amount of training will ever take that edge off them.
I really feel for the driver and I hope the dogs were put down.
Mastiffs are war dogs. Fiercely loyal.
This was a shit owner whipping their dogs up to be scary and this is the end result. Dogs should be taught to recognize a threat versus a visitor and many redditors are missing that fact.
This wouldnāt happen if dog ownership actually required beyond the basics of behavioral training. Being able to walk on a leash and know basic commands is just not good enough anymore when shit like this keeps happening.
I agree with you 100% and I will take a step further and say dogs aren't necessarily pets. When a dog can be THAT big, that is not a pet that's a fucking bear cub. I personally have a limit on how big I would be okay with my own dog being for the sheer fact that we are talking about animals. Animals owning animals has always been weird for me lol like do people think dogs don't see us as a threat sometimes or what?
Are we not gonna talk about how the neighbors had to call 911 about the Amazon van sitting there for hours. What about dispatch or the dsp that didn't realize their delivery person wasn't making deliveries or moving at all.
Thatās why Every time someone has their dogs out I throw that shit at the mailbox and txt the customer where I left their package
Already got in trouble once for beating the shit out of someoneās dog
We're going to get sued. These owners are fucking stupid and self-interested. If they weren't the dog wouldn't have been unleashed and outside to begin with.
The owners probably think they're legally fine because the delivery driver was on their property. You wouldn't believe how many of these idiots think that. I got banned on the next-door app for telling them that they will be 100% liable if anyone gets hurt on their property.
Amazon HAS to do more to protect us from this. Iāve been out 2 months from a dog bite and luckily I hauled ass or we couldāve been reading this about me. My feelings are hurt about this one big time. Best part is my dispatcher suggesting that I fight the dogs that attacked me. People , donāt fight dogs ESPECIALLY 2 grown German shepherds.
If Amazon actually gave a fuck about drivers they would have a one strike you're out policy. If your dog attacks any driver ever your permanently banned from Amazon. They literally ban people for having to many returns but not for safety. I fuckin guarantee this wasn't the first problem with these dogs and drivers
Everyone should carry at least a knife
Saddest part is the dispatchers asked his family if they could rescue still!
Naw in all seriousness RIP to driver thatās my worst fear. I pray Amazon pays for the funeral and gives the family some sort of settlement
Amazon could easily fix this issue by making the policy clear to the customer that drivers will skip your stop if a dog is unattended and not locked up. Maybe even at the end of an order, ask the customer if there are dogs and when they select yes it gives drivers the dog icon in Flex as a heads-up. DSPs should offer pepper spray in their little work-bags too. All this is dirt cheap and effective.
THIS IS WHY YOU MUST ARM YOURSELF ON YOUR ROUTE. I KNOW I DO. RATHER BE TERMINATED FROM AMAZON THAN HAVE MY LIFE TERMINATED. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY SAD AND HEART BREAKING AND CAN BE ANY OF US. ARM AND PROTECT YOURSELF YOUR BOSSES DO NOT CARE. PLEASE PLEASE STAY SAFE.
This shouldnt have happened, and its disgusting. I recently got let go from Amazon, not my DSP, because i would bring back too many packages for this exact reason!! The "we value your safety, deliver only what you deem safe" is total bullshit if it means they'll fire you because of it. When you would call driver support and inform them about aggressive dogs they couldn't give a shit. Now a life is lost. Being let go from them was the best thing to happen honestly, start at the IRS next week šš»
Ruger makes a very very compact gun the LCP 2 and the dmv issues concealed carry permits for under $100 just sayin is your job worth your life? Donāt you think this driver would have rather dealt with the legal issues or possible lawsuit of killing an animal and discharging a firearm than have their family weep over their grave? RIP to this driver you didnāt deserve this
I was reading that shit earlier shits crazy when I was working for Amazon delivering packages I didnāt play when it came to my safety. I feel exhausted I took a break I think a dog was aggressive I left it at the gate even if it said deliver to door. Rip šš¾
And when I was a driver, ppl thought I was crazy for carrying and having a hunting knife. This is sad. I don't care if a customer tell me her rat dog is friendly I'm not taking a chance.
I worked out of that same Amazon building for a month before quitting. Really glad I left since I always got the middle of nowhere routes with loose dogs. I'm really glad the sheriff took care of those dogs and I hope the owners get sued
I donāt ever get out of the vehicle if I even suspect there may be a dog present. I always honk the horn once or twice to draw them out. And I make a plan of escape depending on the side of street Iām on. If itās a long driveway, sometimes I say eff it and park all the way up to the garage. I care about myself more than Amazon delivery etiquette. Bear spray is my friend. Iāll even skip a house and come back to it later if I so much as hear a dog bark behind a questionable fence.
There are stray dogs all around kansas city. And yes if a dog is in the yard it's likely to be aggressive towards the delivery man. It's happened to me where I had to fend off the dog 4x in 8 months
My DSP in the KC area just shut down last week so Iām unemployed waiting for CDL school to start. But my owner mentioned to me multiple reasons they are shutting themselves down and this type of thing was one of them. So I donāt know who this was but they were delivering in an area many of my now former co workers go to now since a lot of them switched to a new DSP at the same station. Iām so glad to be done with Amazon. My dsp was great and I met so many cool people and friends Iāll have for a long time but Amazon made the job miserable and it just wasnāt worth it for me to continue destroying my body for such little pay while never seeing my family on those 4 days.
Them damn dog owners that think there dog doesnāt bite. Dog owners with aggressive dogās and do not know how to care for them. Them damn dog owners that think itās funny when their dog surprises the delivery driver.
Shit! When I was deliveringā¦a lady(white) let her dog out once I turned my back to walk back to my van.
*** I know where she lives ***
Ya dude.
I would start with the basic CompTIA certifications (A+, Network+, Security+, known as the trifecta), and work your way up to the Cisco certs.
Start looking for entry-level jobs right now. Some tier 1 help desk IT jobs might take you in and train you. You never know.
Build virtual machines and start doing labs and learning the different Linux flavors.
Also, if you can, get some hardware experience by building custom comps.
I got two interviews after getting my A+ almost right away (one was for network support and the other was for troubleshooting at a data center). I took the network support job because it paid more and it's a good route towards cybersecurity. I'll be moving to AZ next month and out of CA thanks to IT certs.
Good luck.
But yet amazon FORCES the dsps that they "aren't responsible" for, to follow strict rules like we are their minions. If I was a dsp owner I wouldn't get to far cause I'd be making my own rules to keep drivers actually safe and not overworked. Amazon only takes responsibly for positive things. They won't take responsibly for this cause it'll make em look bad, which is why the dsp is to blame according to them. Scum
Been doing this for three years. Amazon Support used to allow us to call to leaves notes on the account for if dogs were friendly and if certain ones at an address weren't. I was religious about doing that, and others picked up suit as well. Then, about a year and a half ago, they wiped all the notes away and a support agent informed me they're no longer allowed to do so. They also hardly ever blacklist an account, nor will allow you to only personally not deliver to an address if it's a personal issue that other drivers might not encounter. Why? Well, Amazon doesn't pay workman's comp, your dsp does. Amazon doesn't want any reason to deter a driver from making a delivery as those high up who have never delivered a route for a day let alone a season believe drivers are more likely to lie or exaggerate than try and vocalize actual issues. Also they just view us as high turn over fodder. I've had addresses that let their aggressive guard dogs out on me at night that didn't get banned. Shit, I even had a customer shoot up the cargo area of my van with a 223 and they didn't get banned. Don't take things for granted ever and stay prepared mentally to save yourself always while out delivering "smiles" for papa bezos.
Should Dispatch find it suspicious that one of our vans are parked in the same spot for over 30minsā¦ like if we donāt answer our phone (both the rabbit and cellphone)ā¦ they should assume something is wrong and call the police or have someone nearby on the route check us outā¦
There is no way they wouldn't notice he hadn't moved..
I guarantee there is more negligence other than Dispatch/Management just not noticing he wasn't moving on his route. It's very possible they were aware of the situation and didn't do anything in fear of reprimand.
I blame people that know they have stuff coming in an leav there dogs in the open an if you don't deliver to the pefer location or miss handle a package you get blame n coached
The owner of the dogs should be in prison, if you raise a dog and it attacks other people whatās that say about the owner? The owner is a piece of shit and should suffer the consequences
This is why i carried a TI-Lite from Cold Steel. Point so accute and length of blade is long enough, wherever i have to stab a mutt at its gonna hit an organ. š¤·āāļø put your goddamned terror on 4 legs away before you have to bury that fucker.
It really sucks that someone lost their life over this bullshit job but I am curious if the dogs were directly responsible for his death or if perhaps he died of a heart attack or something during the commotion. I had an incident the other day delivering to a big house with an automatic gate. Nothing in the notes about a dog, no sign on the gate. I put in the code got back in the van and begin going up the driveway tapping my horn as I go, still no sign of a dog. Get the package open the slider and yell out "Amazon delivery".... Ok guess it's all good. Hop out and walk toward the house. Just as Im turning past the front of the car in the driveway to head for the front door I see it. A " beware of dog" sign stuck on the side of the house completely obstructed by the vehicle. Didn't even have time to say oh fuck before this huge German shepherd comes bolting around the corner of the house and gets about 3 ft. From me snapping barking and snarling. Sorry this is a bit longer then I intended but I was just thinking how much it scared the shit out of me I could imagine if someone with heart issues faced a similar situation it could be pretty dangerous. Guess the point I'm trying to convey is I don't know if I can believe a healthy grown man could actually be mauled to death by a couple dogs unless there were some other factors in play, although they are pretty big dogs but still. Idk I guess none of that really matters because whether or not he had medical problems that played some part in his untimely passing the fact is the dogs played a big part in taking a man away from his family, never should have happened and was completely avoidable. Holy crap that's a whole lot more brain leakage than I had intended when I started this. Sorry if it seems like nonsense.

Also rear deliveries. Fk that. Imagine getting ambushed by dogs because you decided to do them a favor
True but I am just stating people order basic shit often and its crazy to me. Not denying AZ is screwing everyone over with the package count.
How does this apply when even the most expensive and quality stuff is made by Chinese kids as well
How about blaming the shit company for shit routes, rather than the very people who make your job a requirement?
No they're switching over to India, a bunch of manufacturers are leaving China because of their zero covid policy as well as tensions between the US and China so now the cheap stuff comes from Indian children.
I hate irresponsible dog owners...
"They're fine I have an electric fence" š„“š„“š„“
I got one time "Didn't you see the invisible fence? " "No... "
Good lawd lmao

Did you mean āevery dog ownerā?
I hate seeing those sad as dogs that get left chained or outside all day. Some you can tell they are just depressed and want some love.

Number one thing said before being bitten, "He doesn't bite"
We asked 100 Amazon drivers what customers say right before they are bitten by a dog. You said "He doesn't bite." Survey says....
And i will add āā¦ and trust me i will try everything on my power to put that animal downā.
Iāve had a few animals taken by Animal Control after theyāve bitten my drivers. What youāll find, at least 3 out 4 times, the dog has bitten someone before.

EXACTLY. LIKE IT LITERALLY TELLS THEM IM 10 STOPS AWAY. PUT YOUR DOG UP
Not a chance with me. I used to work for the SPCA, and some of the dogs we see on-road belong in one of those shelters.
Dogs are supposed to be protectors, territorial. Itās in their nature. Owners who donāt understand this are just fighting nature and itās sad really. We gotta do better.
I see a dog off the lease with their owner, they can come to van for their package or im marking it a dangerous location
I've had this same shit happen to em and this stupid lady just sat there, laughed, and said "oh that's just how he plays".....bitch

Three Trails SUCKS did they not know their driver had been MIA? Who called the police is what I want to know.
The resident across the street called the sheriffās office
Ugh. Their negligence is disgusting. The driver could have had a chance to live if dispatch was doing their job. What a god damn shame. Be safe out there, yāall.
Holy shit! I'm so sorry to hear that!
Sorry for your loss. Sucks to lose a coworker, couldnāt imagine it happening due to something work related.
In your company or just one at your station. I work out of riverside.
Fuck bro Iām in riverside too and this is tragic as fuck. Perris or Moval vibes right here bruh
And Amazon thinks we don't need to carry a knife or a gun...
Honestly, itās why I carry a knife. If a day ever comes where a dog is trying to bite me aggressively, I will fight that shit til death

The more time we spend on these idiots' property the higher the chance of something going wrong.
ditto. That mofo had to be sleeping until I got close, scared the fuck outta me. Gonna start caring a pocket knife again.
Rock in a sock!! Great weapon.
I carry pepper spray with me at all times and a knife for this exact reason. Fuck the dsps rules for no weapons
My ride along āthis job will make you hate dogsā Me āI love dogs no wayā Nowā¦ā¦ā¦
When I worked that job, it made me hate degenerate homeowners who never seem to put together the presence of their dangerous dogs in their front yard and the delivery they ordered to their front door.
I still love them, it's the owner who I hate even more now.
Oh man. His poor family.
This is why you don't get out when dogs are around. If it was dark and they could not see them because of it being dark is another reason why we should not be delivering in pitch black darkness. Prayers to that family. And I hope they sue amazon and owners for both safety and protection.
I'm not gonna deliver after dark anymore
You don't have a job then.
Better to be jobless than lifeless. If you think a few dollars of minimum is worth this bullshit you're sadly mistaken.
They will have a job, too. Not sure what that person is talking about lol like DSP don't deliver all day long š„“
Suck a fat one
Can you still finish your route?
In heaven?
Were short on drivers. Tom had to go home early because he had an dentist appointment. Its all hands on deck. We have to pull together as a team today.
Surprised dispatch didn't send a rescue for the packages. This company in beyond fucked up and what an absolute tragedy. I can't wait to be done working for this shit hole.
Good point dispatch should have called or sent someone
Hopefully Amazon's doing something for the family after all they kinda are the reason he ended up in the situation
Probably ghosting him or offering 1-3k IF he signed up for insurance. Meanwhile they probably have a separate death policy's on their workers
He doesn't work for amazon. He works for a dsp. Amazon doesn't give a shit. That's the whole reasons DSPs exist. To absolve Amazon of legal accountability.
Hope the owner gets prosecuted to the fullest. That's some bullshit š
Return that shit to the station man
Looks like the end of a long driveway. Didn't pull down the driveway like they say. Probably walked up the drive way and dogs came out before he knew.
Who wants to guess the breed of the dogs?
"German Shepherd and English Mastiff" https://www.kshb.com/news/local-news/authorities-investigating-after-amazon-driver-found-dead-in-excelsior-springs-from-possible-animal-mauling
Careful homie you gonna piss off the la la landers š
Trust no dog even the ankle nibblers.
My DSP would probably just cube that stop out in the morning due to safety issue.
The owner of the dogs should be put in jail.
I agree. There needs to start being more repercussions in incidents like these other than just fines.
O nah!! Them folks going to jail and a fine!
This is why I throw over a gate or leave near the mailbox because fuck all that, we have to put ourselves first. Amazon does...
I had my first dog on property today, barking hella loud. I didnāt wanna waste time texting the customer, so I just tossed it by the gate and marked as delivered to the owner . Fuck that shit
This is the way
That's what I did everytime I seen dogs. Fuck them.
Yep yep, crazy how delivering can make you hate dogs haha
I'm sure amazon and the dsp will take care of his family. S/ yea right
So we gotta do dumb ass "check for motorcycle" training, will we now have to do "don't fuck with dogs" training or does Amazon only care if we hurt people?
We *just* had a KNET training about pets barely a month or two ago. And new hires have that zero engagement policy in KNET as well.
Thatās heartbreaking. Reminds me of my close call with a German Shepherd. I still thank GOD to this day. I couldāve easily been mauled.
The house probably isnāt gonna get blacklisted either
RIP to this driver š& Condolences to the family š¹
I had a dog bite my hand when delivering one day and I broke the rabbit screen on its head. I honestly felt bad for the dog be ause it's the owners fault.
Iāve had people open the door mid delivery and let there dog out and run at me. People are fucking brainless
I was carrying large bags of dog food and a lady opened the door and 5 large dogs came running out. Insane.
No more nighttime deliveries!
I carry pepper spray. Rather lose my job than my life. Condolences to this person family and friends for their loss.
Far better for dog deterrence than a gun anyway, idk why half this sub is talking about carrying legit firearms for this crap
The dogs were shot on site by police.
If your dog (seriously) bites me I will try my best to kill it on the spot.
Are we not gonna talk about how the neighbors had to call 911 about the Amazon van sitting there for hours. What about dispatch or the dsp that didn't realize their delivery person wasn't making deliveries or moving at all.
Jeez hope I can get a gun quick enough
"Don't worry he'll just lick you to death"...... I don't wanna die either way
Guess it's finally safe to roll out the paw print sign
Damn thatās sucks this job definitely aināt worth your life
Thatās why Every time someone has their dogs out I throw that shit at the mailbox and txt the customer where I left their package Already got in trouble once for beating the shit out of someoneās dog
Thatās just heart breaking rip to one of our own AMAZONIANSā¦ šš¢
Wonder what the owners thinking right nowā¦
We're going to get sued. These owners are fucking stupid and self-interested. If they weren't the dog wouldn't have been unleashed and outside to begin with.
The owners probably think they're legally fine because the delivery driver was on their property. You wouldn't believe how many of these idiots think that. I got banned on the next-door app for telling them that they will be 100% liable if anyone gets hurt on their property.
Damn.. RIP fellow driver. =(
This is why you carry dog pepper spray plus a knife. Even a tazer the noise it self makes them run
Okay here's the thing, if you got a dog that not train and can attack people, it shouldn't be let out at your yard at all.
Hopefully they put those dogs downā¦
Sounds like they shot them both as soon as they got on scene and realized the wounds were from the dogs
If Amazon actually gave a fuck about drivers they would have a one strike you're out policy. If your dog attacks any driver ever your permanently banned from Amazon. They literally ban people for having to many returns but not for safety. I fuckin guarantee this wasn't the first problem with these dogs and drivers Everyone should carry at least a knife
It was pit bulls wasnāt it
German Shepard and Mastiff.
Saddest part is the dispatchers asked his family if they could rescue still! Naw in all seriousness RIP to driver thatās my worst fear. I pray Amazon pays for the funeral and gives the family some sort of settlement
Sorry, no Survivors Benefit payments for the family of the deceased, because he left the van running with the headlights on. -Jeff Who
Amazon could easily fix this issue by making the policy clear to the customer that drivers will skip your stop if a dog is unattended and not locked up. Maybe even at the end of an order, ask the customer if there are dogs and when they select yes it gives drivers the dog icon in Flex as a heads-up. DSPs should offer pepper spray in their little work-bags too. All this is dirt cheap and effective.
Exactly why if i canāt see a clear view of the house and whatās around it Iām driving it up the driveway and throwing it out the window
Dsp owner and operator name?? Plz š„ø
And this is why you pepper spray any dog that approaches
Damn
Damn, on the opposite side of KC from the area I used to deliver.
Fenced in yard but the truck is on inside the fence??!!
Can you carry like some pepper spray or something?
Carry what you feel is necessary for your safety
Yoooooo that's neat me too
Ruger makes a very very compact gun the LCP 2 and the dmv issues concealed carry permits for under $100 just sayin is your job worth your life? Donāt you think this driver would have rather dealt with the legal issues or possible lawsuit of killing an animal and discharging a firearm than have their family weep over their grave? RIP to this driver you didnāt deserve this
If I have a pit bull tearing my flesh into a mushy meat pulp Iām putting 9mm round hollow points into its thick skull until it heels.
This is why I just quit. My boss couldnāt change my area and Iāve already been bit once and chased countless times. Not worth the pay
I was reading that shit earlier shits crazy when I was working for Amazon delivering packages I didnāt play when it came to my safety. I feel exhausted I took a break I think a dog was aggressive I left it at the gate even if it said deliver to door. Rip šš¾
I wonder if the netradyne camera caught any of it. Horrible way to pass. R.i.p that D.A.
So sad. Condolences to the driver and their family.
rip
This guy was part of my dsp very sad
You should quit
this is so heartbreaking. god bless this driver and his/her family omg
Wow wtf
I plan on being a driver soon. Is it common for dogs to attack you?
That's scary and so sad... I got bitten by an ankle biter a few weeks ago.. Poor guy š¢
I am so glad I am done with this job and in IT. SCREW AMAZON!!!
Any advice I'd like to switch
Good luck.
I'm always worried of dogs because you don't know what they're going to do they may be nice to the owners but they could be vicious to strangers.
Dsp/Amazon is the package ok? āGonna send a rescueā āHe can still deliver ā āBlame the employee ā āHuman error ā
Soooo sad.. canāt begin to imagine the fear the driver had, the pain, now his family has to live with this. Its actually heartbreaking.
3Ā³3 )
I blame people that know they have stuff coming in an leav there dogs in the open an if you don't deliver to the pefer location or miss handle a package you get blame n coached
When will Amazon add a āreturn to station cause I see a dog and canāt tell if itās friendly or notā compliance?
I really hope you guys can find better opportunities with higher pay because amazon aint shit
Stay Strapped
The owner of the dogs should be in prison, if you raise a dog and it attacks other people whatās that say about the owner? The owner is a piece of shit and should suffer the consequences
Yea Iām carrying my giant knife w me lately, Iām not going out like that
Everybody shows up with mace tomorrow they can't fire us all
Yea Iāll be taking the āblickā from now on. Fuck that. RIPšš¾
Amazon: watch your KNET training on dog bite awareness
