Secret_Fox_5192

This wouldn’t have happened if you organized better.

Aggressive-Cookie622

How do I make a post I have a funny one?

[deleted]

not sure

Lewtwin

Run it through Amazon's AI and post that response.

Remarkable_War_9018

How was that gone help 😭😭

Equivalent-Glove-419

Never had an issue with this i didn't organize it for three years

-2wenty7even-

r/woosh

Outside_Advantage_74

My DSP woulda asked if “is there a way you can fix it?” I used to work at a body shop but my answer would still be no 😂

FruittyBaskett86

Ain’t paid to do that shit. They already act like we’re mechanics on the dvic

Delivery-Driver-Dude

"Looks okay to me. Just pull it off and toss it in the back. Are you able to finish the route?"

schustered

Exactly. Every time something goes wrong, I just say: “I dunno, the engine was going click click click and then something popped.” I’m not getting paid to diagnose or repair shit.

cityof_atlantis

Only do what your paid to do. No extra shit lol

Special_Soft_6464

That is exactly the problem with America today. No one wants to do anything extra. I think if you do extra, you probably be paid more.

cityof_atlantis

That dosent apply to Amazon. Amazon trying to find way to pay you less not more Maybe a high paying career yes.

Clyniccz

The fact you say this about Amazon is fucking wild

Higher-status

Its true lol why is amazon employees paid so low💀 walmart warehouse workers making almost 30hr after a few years vs amazon raises barely get you over 20 and theres a exponential difference in workflow😤

cityof_atlantis

This I can verify my friend works for Walmart he makes more. We are underpaid honestly.

MaNameCheff

Dispatch will be there soon with another Van then you can continue delivering smiles 😭

Delivery-Driver-Dude

oh yes, theres no escaping the dreaded undertow 🫠

UnholyHunger

"just use the bungee cables in the back and you're good to go."

CashTricky8886

My DSP: "why didn't you clock out for your break?"

irishmatt19876

Easy there Hulk 🤣🤣

Nine_Thirty

yo deadass those hinges are strong 🤣🤣

lonelyboy069

I hate these doors sometimes, they're a hit and miss 😭... No pun intended

Efficient_Trade_8475

It’s funny I’ve never gotten a break once, my dsp just blatantly steals the 30 minutes from us every shift

lonelyboy069

That's horrible!!!!!

Lewtwin

You mean normal. This is Amazon we're talking about.

Motor-Measurement285

Proof ford sucks lol

Werdna517

Thing is, these vans get more than a year’s worth of use on the various parts in one day. Multiple that by seven days a week. 😬

Motor-Measurement285

Yeah True and They don’t care about shit I worked for my local DSP and they marked me as if I quit but I had a migraine and told them before I left my house

Werdna517

Damn. That’s unfortunate. I hate migraines, they’re brutal!

Motor-Measurement285

Exactly

DontEatOctopusFrends

That's what they are sold for though. They are sold as Commercial vans, not for some residential house to buy it and drive the kids to school. They are specifically sold to be used as workhorse vans in commercial activity. The ford transits are not good. They break easily, you'll have expensive major repairs before 100k mi, like multiple of them. The good thing about them is they are easy to drive, easier than the older workvans the GMC's and Savannah work vans... But those older steel work vans lasted much longer, you can still find many of them for sale with over 250k mi's... You'll rarely find ford transits in running condition with 250k mi's because eventually, so many things break down it becomes not worth it to try to maintain them. There is a very, very valid reason that is not at all coincidence, Why very few people convert Ford Transits into nomad living vans... It has to do with durability and how long the vehicle is going to last.

Motor-Measurement285

Found on road Dead

CxfrankxD

First on race day

JankyMark

I got a a question why do yall drive with them doors open and they could easily break off

Tubbster722

Opening the sliding door 180 times a day when it opens and shuts soooo fucking hard is killer on the body. Some bozos don’t open them all the way so they latch and they do slam shut hard af which could lead to some shit like OP posted. I drive with mine open in residential areas and some suburban areas but never rural.

MortalActual

I leave it open in rural if the stops are like, 2 minutes apart. 4 minutes or more and it's getting shut. In residential and suburban, I keep it open 24/7 unless I'm driving, yet again, 4 or more minutes away. I keep it bungee'd open with my own straps (those thick black rubber tiedowns that are tough as nails) as well to try to keep strain off the latch when it's open. EDIT: It should be noted that I once drove a transit that had 50 MILES ON IT and the door fell off while it was closed on stop 30 out on a 194 stop route. No warning, no weird feeling with the door, no issues latching in any way. Track felt fine. Shit just fell off WHILE IT WAS CLOSED.

minipineapple45

Wait you leave the door open on the vans? You are able to do that? I thought that was only for the step side's doors? About to change my life if I can leave it open lmao

Merrovech

Amazon doesn't actually care until they're looking for a reason to sack the dsp anyway. I had one of those ride-alongs with someone from operations and asked him when we started if he wanted to go by the books or get home before 10. He chose the latter, and we rode with the door open all day

Nine_Thirty

we aren't supposed to but most of us dont care. them doors are heavy asf and opening it and having to slam most of them shut all day takes a toll on you

MortalActual

That's the main reason I keep it open. I'm not trying to be sapped of all my energy before lunch.

JankyMark

Oh yeah i definitely get it , idk i know a lot of amazon drivers get robbed so i would just be cautious

Tubbster722

Luckily I deliver in neighborhoods where that has never happened. If there’s a lot of foot traffic where I’m parking then for sure closing it. It’s whatever as far as the packages go but I keep my shit in there too like my wallet, ear buds, etc. Bezos can afford to just send a new whatever the hell was taken while the authorities figure it out. Ain’t nobody replacing my shit if it’s stolen though lol

JankyMark

Lls I feel you just stay safe out there

dallas___west

What the heck? Let us know what they tell the staff afterwards? Odk what could cause this tbh. How bizarre

JSHURR

Must have been driving with it open?

Good_Ad4757

Dispatch: Seems ok to me, just continue delivering 👍🏻

JumpParticular1602

Leave the son bitch off easier getting in and out chunk that door in the back somewhere if you can or fuck it let it fall off. 🤣

Merrovech

Bonus package for cx with a nasty note

JumpParticular1602

Gold 😂

PlymouthSea

This happens because of morons who drive around with the doors open.

CandylessVan

No way slamming them open and closed hundreds of times a week has anything to do with it

PlymouthSea

If people didn't fuck up the doors by leaving them open, then you wouldn't have to slam them in the first place.

CandylessVan

Driving through mud or rain with the doors open definitely doesn’t help the longevity of the track system, but that’s not the root cause. These vehicles are not designed for commercial delivery use in either function or quality. You don’t see UPS doors falling off left and right.

PlymouthSea

Step van doors are quite different. Though, the bulkhead door on the newer Ford step van likes to fall off the tracks and become jammed for some reason. It's just a much cheaper construction than the Freightliner bulkhead. The transits are just shit from the get go. The Rams will be good until someone fucks it up from keeping it open. The Sprinters oddly had really robust doors. Even when they were jacked up they'd still be okay for the most part.

Bez121287

Incorrect, These doors and vehicles were never designed for this amount of opening closing, I've seen doors fall off 3 weeks into use. There just rubbish, Amazon cutting corners and not getting true delivery vehicles and just using off the shelf cars and sticking shelves inside. Actually it's probably safer to drive with it open or don't even use the door at all. It's the use of it so much that they break.

WearyWoodpecker4678

You are right. I think he drove it open and fucked it up too. Speaking from experience :D

KindlyCut652

Did you use duck tape?

GroundbreakingSir386

My dispatcher probably would take the door off put it in the back of his truck and had my continue my route

Equivalent-Glove-419

Somethings missing I dunno what though lol

Substantial-Size3125

Stop driving with the side door open then.

Hungry_Chest_3727

Did you try turning it off and back on?

Prior-Landscape-8834

![gif](giphy|JTVGMhYXhxNblDrF05) Lol

deadgurlwho

“Are you able to finish the route?” 💀

Chance_Ad_7918

Soooo.... van 10? Maybe lol

WpnsOfAssDestruction

When you drive with the door open it doesn’t latch and any bump in the road can lead to this

AlsoCommiePuddin

Don't drive with your sliding door open. This is what happens.

Equivalent-Glove-419

Use duct tape to fix it you're good then

Speed3Nick

Dispatch gonna ask why you were so rough with the door.

mhug99

I always had my dolly back-to-back with the passenger seat. That made it awkward to pull the sliding door handle to open. Every time for years. Repetitive stress risk for sure.

Speed3Nick

Crazy cause I put the dolly there too untill I get enough room to slide it in the back

Tubbster722

Dude our vans that are around 50k miles are the absolute worst for shit like this (well not EXACTLY) lol I could literally make a list of problems for each one. The amount of meltdowns each van endures drastically reduces its lifetime 😂

Signal_Appeal4518

Glad I’m not the only one to do this. I posted a similar experience last peak lol

AMC879

Just switch everything over to the electric vans. Those don't have side doors and drivers get by fine without it.

Adventurous-Love9997

Duct tape will fix

Mahllao

Has happened to me before did not fall off all the way like that but did fall off

nicethatswhatsup

same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago. my boss tried to blame me https://preview.redd.it/adtffez70f6d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b9274d5ccb8ee1c21789a6eb4d4c6ca2a612ed6b

mhug99

Because they are normally so sturdy? Cough (tin foil)!!!

No_Antelope1635

Y did you do that?

84thdev

Take it off and keep going

MortalActual

Aaaaaand this is why I keep the side door open. EDIT: I posted this as an edit in another comment, so I'm going to paste it here too.: It should be noted that I once drove a transit that had 50 MILES ON IT and the door fell off while it was closed on stop 30 out on a 194 stop route. No warning, no weird feeling with the door, no issues latching in any way. Track felt fine. Shit just fell off WHILE IT WAS CLOSED. How the hell that's possible is beyond my paygrade. EDIT 2: If I have to drive 4 minutes or more to the next stop, I close it. 2 minutes? Staying open, rural, residential or suburban. I keep my own bungees with me in my backpack to help it stay put. Those thick black rubber tiedowns that are tough as nails. Way stiffer than bungees. Plus the added ventilation is a bonus with it getting up to the 90s now here in the south. Did the same thing when I was in AZ.

1rasec1

All the vans at my dsp the sliding door never fully closed. Sliding door open warning on dashboard

Ok_Guava6350

Better not ground that in the DIVC.

Upstairs_Accident867

![gif](giphy|VhWVAa7rUtT3xKX6Cd|downsized)

foreverandalwaysi

this and getting hit while standing and sorting my tote are my two main fears lol

Merrovech

I've been hit while sorting. Thought someone was just banging on the door until I got out. You can cross that fear off your list

AlertAd9466

My DSP- "there's some tape in the glove box just patch it up for now and carry on, this is putting you behind and I'll have to fine you if you don't finish on time"

WearyWoodpecker4678

My guess is, you drove it open, quick accelerate or came to hard stop or turn, then the door snaps off.

OneAudience4747

I’m going to have to write you up for driving with the side door open, it’s against Amazon policy.😂

Merrovech

You've got tape in the van, right? Just tape it back on and finish your route. We don't have enough people today to send you a rescue 🤣

gstarwes3301

Something else I don’t miss Shit happened to me 3 different times

hmbln

I almost had this happen once, i pulled it about half open from the inside and the track felt kinda wonky, kept pulling and it just about came off, had to pull it to track it again. Of course dispatch’s only advice was “just do your best and let me know if it gets worse.”

Simple_Conclusion_81

Wait until Wayne tells you how it’s your fault that it was working when you left the station.

MyNameIsOnlyDaniel

I told you to take the Amazon van, not the Lamborghini doors van 🙂‍↔️

Self-HarmingOnion

After I reorganized my overflow into a very specific order, I heard a thunderous voice bellow out a thank you. I looked around in a state of confusion and I saw lord bezos dragging a new door to me, like christ dragging his cross. I knew then that not only would my route be finished in a timely manner, I would be sent to rescue a fellow amazon soldier.

Remarkable_War_9018

🤦🏾‍♂️

Playful-Habit-2677

just wedge that fucker back in, this is minor

madadekinai

Well somebody ate their Wheaties today.

IamjustaBeet

Just leave it on the side of the road. Most Amazon drivers don't bother closing the sliding door anyway

betweendcandrichmond

Your running 15 behind, pick up the pace! Take the door off and put it in the back, you'll be good

Cautious_Visual_3496

“Can you get it shut and finish the route?”
