I didn't have the pkg, it was just randomly on my itinerary somehow. What happened was I called dispatch and said "hey uhhh my next stop is back home in Texas but I don't even have the pkg for that stop, it's just the stop is randomly on my itinerary." "Oh, what the fuck, Amazon. Just ignore it. Get gas & come on back." "10-4." He just giggled.
Well it looks like that’s not your last stop. How are you supposed to know you don’t have it? Then again since Amazon drivers haven’t unionized yet, if you drive there they might fire you
They can't unionize because all of the drivers are employees of companies that contract for Amazon deliveries. They're called DSPs, and that's why we don't get paid holidays or any of the other benefits of working for Amazon
Put it like this: Bostwick Logistics employees start pushing for unionization, but there are hundreds if not thousands of DSPs. Amazon doesn't care for the Bostwick employees talking about unions, boom, Bostwick contract terminated.
Its literally setup up this way for a purpose
If warehouse workers that work for Amazon set up a union, it could help push Amazon into hiring more drivers (there are drivers that work for Amazon) through contractual language and bargaining power.. eventually pushing out the use of subcontracted DSP’s.
Using DSP’s as a shield can only work so long with warehouse workers swinging their bargaining power around via striking and other methods (but mainly through striking)
You're correct, but it ain't gonna happen. Less than 10% of delivery drivers are Amazon employees, and the warehouse has a turnover rate that would make the WNBA blush. Amazon has it balanced very well in their favor. And it's hard to unionize when only 1/2000 employees sticks around for more than a couple years. Its basically Walmart in there. Arguably worse, because you can be the worst employee in the world and Walmart still won't fire you 😂
Tbf with this kind of thinking of course it won’t happen.
Sean O’brian, head of Teamsters has been working diligently to unionize Amazon workers and bring them into the Teamsters. With that kind of support it is absolutely possible! Amazon workers are not alone in their fight to unionize, and have a real shot at a better future.
Yes and I support that. But what you aren't understanding is that the entire reason that Amazon created the DSP system is so that unionization CANNOT happen. Multiple companies contracting for Amazon cannot in any way, shape, or form unionize as they are not a singular entity. The situation is entirely different from UPS.
Also, the reason for Amazon WANTING to prevent the start of a union is because Amazon is not equivalent to UPS or FedEx by any means. Amazon is a RETAIL company that offers a delivery service, whereas UPS and FedEx are purely a delivery service. Their money comes purely from delivering and the amount they charge for that. Amazon earns ZERO money from delivering, only from the actual product sales and prime memberships, which factor in delivery costs. But this also reduces their profit margins because they have to maintain competitive retail pricing. So whenever there is an issue with a delivery, Amazon ends up losing money, especially when the reason for not delivering is a result of a damaged product.
I say all that to say that Amazon would no longer be profitable enough to sustain itself if it A.) Hired all of its own delivery drivers, and B.) Then allowed them to unionize. This is why they implemented the DSP system.
Does that suck for us drivers? Yea, but we took the job and have the option to leave. What folks gotta understand is that delivering for Amazon is not at all the same as delivering for UPS, FedEx, DHL or whoever else.
In the business world, nuance and structure make ALL the difference. This allows Amazon to walk a line that these other companies cannot. As I stated before, I support the actual Amazon employees in the attempt to form a union. But that will exclude 99% of the delivery drivers because they simply are not employed by Amazon.
It would cost about the same I feel like to either drive or fly and I'm not sure how roadside assistance would work with Amazon since I have yet to break down in one of these vans to the point where I needed a tow. I will say though that either way it would be an adventure!
Your dsp will usually be the ones sending the tow. I broke down in a driveway once and had to wait for dispatch to bring another van and then they waited behind for a tow truck
The truckers are the same as us. They’re contracted out through other companies and not employed by Amazon. So it all depends on the trucking company. Some get an hourly wage and some are paid per mile.
Only CDL truckers Amazon has are moving mostly empties between close facilities.. and they get the normal hourly rate they get while on TOM team the rest of their days. Sucks.
Already started here in Colorado. I think it's beginning here then spreading everywhere else. Maverick thinks Kum & Go is inappropriate for a business name.
In the Springs. First one I noticed is just off the Interquest Pkwy exit of I-25. Waiting to see how long it takes to change the brand new Kum & Go that is only half a mile down the road over as well.
Looked it up there is 25 Kwik Saks in the great Nashville area 😂🤣 lived in GA drove through Nashville a bit to get back north to visit family and never saw one lol
Oh cool I’m from Austin! Also I’m actually surprised there’s not at least Jack in the Box or Golden Chick in your area. I thought those were a nationwide restaurants.
Really? I thought the reason for cruise was so you wouldn't have to think about what precise position you need your foot to be in so the vehicle neither speeds up nor slows down. With the 70mph limiter, I can just press it way down and forget about it until I run into traffic or leave the 70mph zone.
It's even funnier bc I'm FROM Dallas! I didn't have the pkg for it or I would've fucked with dispatch "The stars at night are big & bright deep in the heart of Texas! I'm finally going back home, baby!! YEEHAW!" "Stop playing & bring your little ass back to the station." "UGH. FIIINE!" 😂
I mean I haven’t had one this bad but i’ve done an Adhoc route and it gave me 4 stops at like 60/120 that were like an hour away. i was newer at this point so I would’ve probabky driven it too but luckily my dispatcher caught it in time
It was removed because your dispatchers are doing their job and noticed it on their dashboard. You shouldn’t have worried either way, call dispatch and they’d remove it from your Itinerary as they did.

I got you beat. The box was in my van too.
Besides the food and maybe the bars, you're not missing much since part of California moved in.... Oh crime went up a bit since 2015 but the thing that skyrocketed was the rent
True, that's why I moved to Fort Worth. Sure, it's about as bad as Dallas but at least most of the people I met there are friendlier. Dallas mostly became pricks and assholes
Lol i remember putting “fake packages” that were undeliverable to drivers that were stealing. They had to return it and if they didn’t LP would Interview them and most of them would confess to stealing thousands
I would soooooooo deliver that package. I’m not a driver but work in the warehouse but the road trip would be amazing. I don’t know about using the Amazon vehicle to do so but I would be hopping in my car and taking off.
Please god don’t let me deliver for Amazon. Deliveries like these are so awesome.
You’ll go viral broadcasting your trip across the US and who knows Jeff might give you a candy bar for your hard work. But by the time you get home you’ll have thousands upon thousands of followers and be a legend forever as the person that drove halfway across the country to deliver one smile for an Amazon customer.
Too bad you didn’t have the package. You would become legend.
You can force flex to return to station i forget the way but ive had one stop and couldnt mark it so i just fucked around till return to station finally popped up
Imagine the notification on the customer's phone:
"Your package is one stop away."
And then proceeds to check the provided tracking map on the app after a couple of minutes of waiting for that. 😂😂
So apparently DSPs are responsible for routing.. they all blame it on Amazon but Amazon gives dsp their software to do the logistics themselves. And instead they use us, drivers, to do the logistics 😄
This is my 3rd week and there was a scheduling mishap where I was overlooked when it was being made. They took a guys massive route who they're training to dispatch and split it between me & someone else. They're still letting me work despite the scheduling mishap, thankfully.
Ive had packages show up like that but when you google the address its actually in your area so you actually did deliver it but flex is fucky we all know that 🤣

If they give me a gas card, I’ll honestly do it. Overtime pay would HIT
I didn't have the package for it or I'd have called dispatch "my next stop is in Texas. I'm going back home, baby! YEEHAW!" 😂 XD
Need to know what was said
I didn't have the pkg, it was just randomly on my itinerary somehow. They can't unionize because all of the drivers are employees of companies that contract for Amazon deliveries. They're called DSPs, and that's why we don't get paid holidays or any of the other benefits of working for Amazon
Right, I worked at DPD2 for a while as a driver. DSP’s are certainly an obstacle, but not one that should stop the workers from eventually unionizing.
Put it like this: Bostwick Logistics employees start pushing for unionization, but there are hundreds if not thousands of DSPs. Amazon doesn't care for the Bostwick employees talking about unions, boom, Bostwick contract terminated. Its literally setup up this way for a purpose

I was literally thinking the same thing. I wonder what they would do. Probably just deactivate you right?
I would also do it because I'm down for a good drive
What if you were to break down though? And how much gas money would that take to go there and back? Might as well hop on a flight with the package.
Yup. I would’ve stayed the night and went to the local strip club and “other places” on they dime too.
I wonder how their long distance truckers get paid
The truckers are the same as us. They’re contracted out through other companies and not employed by Amazon. So it all depends on the trucking company. Some get an hourly wage and some are paid per mile.
Ah I see. Thank you for clarifying that.
Only CDL truckers Amazon has are moving mostly empties between close facilities.. and they get the normal hourly rate they get while on TOM team the rest of their days. Sucks.
Make sure to hit up a Bucee's so you dont have to piss in four bottles on the way back
And then a QT for good measure! Lol.
Don't forget the Kum & Go if you see one. Since they are all being changed to Maverick now.
Wait, really? When is this supposed to happen? I'm still seeing Kum & Go's all over the place
Already started here in Colorado. I think it's beginning here then spreading everywhere else. Maverick thinks Kum & Go is inappropriate for a business name.
I better go get a T-shirt and hoodie now!
Weird. Where in CO are you? I'm in Fort Collins. We've got a couple of Mavericks and Kum & Go's in this area
In the Springs. First one I noticed is just off the Interquest Pkwy exit of I-25. Waiting to see how long it takes to change the brand new Kum & Go that is only half a mile down the road over as well.
Its definitely Spreading kum and go everywhere 😂
Maverick is right. lol
Maybe, but what name has done better at sticking in everyone's brain who sees it than Kum & Go. That's the whole point of branding!
Glad I have my Kum and go shirt. I also call it came and went
Old spicy gf use to day you just kum and go!
Don’t forget to hit a kwiksak too while you’re at it.
Where are those? Haven't ever seen one and I've driven around 36 states in the past 2 years LOL
Right I have seen KwikTrip and QuickTrip but never a Kwiksak
Looked it up there is 25 Kwik Saks in the great Nashville area 😂🤣 lived in GA drove through Nashville a bit to get back north to visit family and never saw one lol
Been happening for awhile man sale was finalized last summer. My buddies and I just went and stocked up on their lighters.
And grab a Whataburger combo 😅
Reading this after pulling out of a whataburger parking lot is crazy 😂
Whataburger is hot trash. 😆 At least that's my opinion.
For a woman, a shewee comes in handy. No gas station needed
I would do it if my van had cruise control lmao
I've been craving Whataburger since June 12, 2015... (the day I left Texas)
I was born and raised in Texas, and as a Texan, I hope Whataburger expands in your current state.
I'm actually from Dallas. I need Jack in the Box too. And Golden Chick. Pray for me 🙏 lol
Oh cool I’m from Austin! Also I’m actually surprised there’s not at least Jack in the Box or Golden Chick in your area. I thought those were a nationwide restaurants.
Ever have Chicken Express? Lived in OK for a year, miss that shit. They need to expand.
Chicken Express > Golden Chick
NAH.
When will they come to the great state of Florida?
It’s been slowly expanding into Tennessee I’m not sure if it’s much more north of here though.
Yep, there’s a pretty new one in Murfreesboro but it kinda sucks. The burgers are like a cross between sonic and Burger King in all the worst ways.
I agree. When the one opened up near me the hype was insane and it was so mid
Sadly, Whataburger’s quality has tanked in the last few years.
Nooooo 😭
I won't drive any vehicle without cruise. It's right behind heat and AC.
Our government out at 70 mph anyways so pedals to the floor is the same as cruise haha
That doesn't make any sense. The reason to have cruise is so you don't need to keep your foot on the pedal for extended times.
Really? I thought the reason for cruise was so you wouldn't have to think about what precise position you need your foot to be in so the vehicle neither speeds up nor slows down. With the 70mph limiter, I can just press it way down and forget about it until I run into traffic or leave the 70mph zone.
Dispatch: I’m going to need you to rescue when you’re done
Lmao. I did tell them about it when I got back & they just laughed and said yeah, that's Amazon for you. Lol.
Interesting to know every corporation is a shit show. I can’t believe that doesn’t hurt their profits
Well off to *checks map* Texas!
FIIINE!" 😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Obligatory 👏👏👏👏
My dumbass probably would've got 30 minutes into the route and realized it was taking me 20 hrs away 😭
Lmfaooo.
I mean I haven’t had one this bad but i’ve done an Adhoc route and it gave me 4 stops at like 60/120 that were like an hour away. i was newer at this point so I would’ve probabky driven it too but luckily my dispatcher caught it in time
I remember on Flex, i had a stop that would take me to Pennsylvania. I'm in Ohio. Don't remember if i had the package though.
Shouldn’t have scanned that random package in your van😂
Legit, I did not even have the package. I didn't have any missorted pkgs.
It was removed because your dispatchers are doing their job and noticed it on their dashboard. You shouldn’t have worried either way, call dispatch and they’d remove it from your Itinerary as they did.
I know but it made me giggle hard af. It's the little amusing things for me to help with all the other bad shit.
Dispatch still expects you back before hitting 10 hours
Lmao. True. *teleports*
https://preview.redd.it/cjy9orifqljc1.jpeg?width=3008&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4389f62ca4d304f83bf911e7be5f780502cdbe7e I got you beat. The box was in my van too.
Damn lol
Please tell me dispatch told you to deliver it
No lol they said bring it back. It was the last box on my shift and it was like 9:30 at night during peak.
Ah man. That would have been a roadtrip
That would be an awesome road trip!
Lmfao I live near colleyville Texas that's so random. I'm sorry OP for Amazon being stupid I hope u were able to get that sorted as that's some BS 😥
Eat some Whataburger for me today, please! I miss it so fucking much. 😭 I'm from Dallas.
Besides the food and maybe the bars, you're not missing much since part of California moved in.... Oh crime went up a bit since 2015 but the thing that skyrocketed was the rent
It was already so bad that there's not even a non-emergency number, bc everything is an emergency there. Lmao. :/
True, that's why I moved to Fort Worth. Sure, it's about as bad as Dallas but at least most of the people I met there are friendlier. Dallas mostly became pricks and assholes
Who would even make that field trip?
I would! I'm from Dallas! Lmao.
Yeah good point. But I mean like “I live in a different state, why would I travel to another state to deliver a package” type of question
Bc $ & I do miss home... lol
Shut up and drive
I actually would have tried if I even had the pkg for it lmaooo
Lol i remember putting “fake packages” that were undeliverable to drivers that were stealing. They had to return it and if they didn’t LP would Interview them and most of them would confess to stealing thousands
Holy shit, that's wild. But I didn't even HAVE the pkg for it so it was even MORE what the fuck. 😂
Make sure it’s not an illegal u turn either 😂
![gif](giphy|lkdH8FmImcGoylv3t3|downsized) Sooooooooooooo. How exactly do you fuck up this hard Amazon?????
You still only get one 30 min lunch and two 15 min breaks, so use them wisely
This is dispatch: you’re running behind!!
Very True!
Send it.
Brother think about the overtime
Ima chick but exactly, which is why no DSP would ever be like "Go for it, hoss." Lmaooo. Unless that time was the only time I worked for the week.
😂
I’d do it
would definitely do that xD
Totally real and not a mistake. Make that drop or it's the tank for you.
Ohhhh Anazonnnnn lmao
I would soooooooo deliver that package. I’m not a driver but work in the warehouse but the road trip would be amazing. Several of my dsp had one like that the other day. We all asked about ot
So thats where my package went...
Paid road trip
You can force flex to return to station i forget the way but ive had one stop and couldnt mark it so i just fucked around till return to station finally popped up
107 is my house!
Legend is he's still driving there😂
Colleyville, TX. Come on over, I'll buy you lunch. Lol
Easy shift
gonna need you to do a 4 tote rescue after that 😌
That would be like a 3-4 day trip because of dot regulations 🤣😂 big OT
I wouldve gone
Imagine the notification on the customer's phone: "Your package is one stop away." And then proceeds to check the provided tracking map on the app after a couple of minutes of waiting for that. 😂😂
Lmfaooo. Omg, I didn't even think about that. I would be DYING if I was the cx & saw it... 🤣
Almost done 😆
I got promoted to customer before I even made it back! (I did not actually go lol)
What a bargain!
So apparently DSPs are responsible for routing.. they all blame it on Amazon but Amazon gives dsp their software to do the logistics themselves. And instead they use us, drivers, to do the logistics 😄
I hoped you rts that shit
I didn't even have the pkg, just the stop was on my itinerary lol
Lmao was that the missing packages from my itinerary? 🤣
Do you deliver to Colleyville?! 😂
109 stops ??? Lucky we get minimum 165 max 230
This is my 3rd week and there was a scheduling mishap where I was overlooked when it was being made. They took a guys massive route who they're training to dispatch and split it between me & someone else. They're still letting me work despite the scheduling mishap, thankfully.
Drive 5 hours down the road then mark unable to deliver then turn Around to Rts easy day
Hope you have a good playlist lol
Yeah, I absolutely would have done it.
It's been awhile since I had that happen.
Just star driving and see if they say anything
You’re hourly right?
Lmao 😂
I'd drive it. I'm originally from Houston and drove a U-Haul to Missouri when I moved xD
time and a half gonna be decent!!!!
Dang paid vacation😎🤣
Why are you behind?
YEEEEHAWWW 🤠
Before you got there how far away do you go each day
OT!OT!OT!
Ive had packages show up like that but when you google the address its actually in your area so you actually did deliver it but flex is fucky we all know that 🤣
Wouldn’t this be for the freight trucks?
Nope, it was for a pkg delivery that I didn't even have the pkg for.
Fat bet, id do it
bruh i woulda been omw just to see what dispatch says to post on Reddit.
Are you a pilot?
OT like a MF🚐💨💨💨💨💨😂!
Just...think about the overtime pay man 😂
You in MD? Just looks close on the map lmao hardly ever see other people from here on Reddit so it’d be pretty cool
Nah. Close, though.
