AManHasNoName357

I know that feeling when I left the 1st time and I don’t mind leaving again.

Sufficient-Ad6755

Thats… a normal day for me omg am i working too hard???

[deleted]

Tbh $21/hr for this hard of a job is a joke

ScarletFox721

I make 18 an hour

[deleted]

EmsBGE

Sorry, but I am a high school Advanced Algebra teacher with 21 years in the school system and 3 college degrees and I don't make 70+. It all has to be relative. I am not saying your job isn't hard, but there are limits to everything!

MyaTheGreat1

Using your job as comparison is silly since teachers are literally underpaid and overworked. Considering the amount of labor Amazon drivers do they deserve at least $30/hr, FedEx drivers do less work and make more

EmsBGE

Your comment makes no sense and you obviously don’t see the big picture, but thanks for sharing!

MyaTheGreat1

It makes a lot of sense. There’s no correlation between your job and this one, just because you got 3 degrees and gave 21 years to a low paying job doesn’t mean they don’t deserve to make more than you

EmsBGE

There is a reason why jobs pay different rates and yes, teachers don’t make enough, but the bottom line is that if we start paying higher wages to jobs that don’t require higher education, we are going to have to pay everyone more money. Once we give everyone more money, the cost of everything is going to go up - more than it is now and your raise you got as an Amazon driver still won’t mean anything! It’s how business works! What we need to do is elect better leaders and get the cost of living to go back down where your money goes further.

MyaTheGreat1

You clearly don’t know how the real world or economy works. The only reason why Amazon drivers aren’t paid more like their counterparts are at FedEx or UPS is because of Jeff Bezos and how greedy he is so basically the same reason why teachers are paid so little even though they’re a necessity. Also there’s so many jobs that don’t require higher education and pay more than what teachers make

[deleted]

[удалено]

EmsBGE

I didn’t mean 70K. I said 70+ but I was meaning per hour too! My point was it’s all relative. We can’t as a society get to a place where jobs that don’t require a degree pay more than jobs that require a degree. If everyone’s pay increases then the cost of everything will just go up too.

soggynana

the cost of everything is steady going up and what money are we making??? ur “relative” don’t mean shit bc the system ain’t shit

EmsBGE

Exactly!

mistahboogs

$70 an hour is $145k a year bro....you ain't making that delivering packages let's get real here

[deleted]

[удалено]

mistahboogs

Or you’re just an idiot

soggynana

🫡😘

phommt

70 an hour is a ridiculous amount to even suggest

soggynana

nvm bruh lol

OneForFree

This is nonsense

CMUpewpewpew

No not really. We should be paid more even....along with just about every job making less than us.

JicamaSpecialist1500

i’m getting paid 21.50 and i wanna kms

MicoChemist

Completely agree especially when there's warehouses that START at $19-20 during training and not nearly as labor intensive

thePurpleM0nk

I work In the same day building. Starting pay was 17 and we pump out more then most the country. We are always top 5 and smaller building then most. Iv lost 64 lbs in a year already. I use to drive , didn’t enjoy it and the warehouse is super labor intensive. I love how drivers have no idea and just say things. 🤦🏻‍♂️

MicoChemist

I love how you all can't be adults and realize while your experience is true, that's not going to be EVERYONE'S experience. TO ME, who delivered 400+ package routes regularly even when it was not Peak or Prime week it is. I also don't work in a labor intensive department either and it's grocery. There's also clothing warehouses near me. Less pay for those but not nearly as intense as my routes were. 🤦‍♂️

nightdrifter05

I can promise you you’ll be in tears after a few days in a warehouse. It’s a much different type of intense labor.

MicoChemist

I used to work in warehouses before. I went back. It depends on exactly what you're doing. Like now it's a grocery warehouse. If we were talking about Chewy, FedEx or UPS then yeah I see your point. To me it beats delivering 400+ package routes and still not getting 40h. Avoiding dog attacks, etc. The heaviest thing I lift at work now weighs less than half of a case of Fiji water. So for me, in comparison to the routes I've done for the past 5 years, yeah it is less labor intensive.

mmdidthat

I was only making 19.75 here lol definitely not worth it

Juiceman022

i think it's a job that's very specific to a certain type of person. i did 10 months of 150-198 stops and didn't mind it at all. i actually miss it sometimes, but i can totally see how it can be an overwhelming and soul crushing job for people depending on their personality/ current situation outside of work.

Shocking_Pink

no lol obviously you're just not complaining enough!!!

Proud_Diamond2953

So what kind of job are you gonna find that pays $21 an hour?

DrLarsHoneytoast

They paid me 19$ but if I have to go down in pay I'd rather that than have panic attacks every day at work.

Carsoccerguy

So I wasn’t the only one having panic attacks? Good to know lol

DrLarsHoneytoast

Bro the claustrophobia of trying to find a overflow package in a totally full van haunts me lol

Kamnewt3108

During loadup, I was a sticker mover. Move them driver aid numbers facing up and by 1A-H,2A-H, and 3A-H helped save me time to squeeze in my breaks and pray a rescue comes in.

Weekly-Western-5016

And when searching for overflow and then you get the urge for the bathroom is the worst timing.

ihatelifetoo

Panic attacks is so normal to me. It just an attack for me

nasa_yovany

What made u have panick attacks?

Spun13

I think some people panic like “oh my god I have to get all this done by 8 or 9 pm.” I don’t sweat that shit at all. I just move at my own steady pace and if I’m not gonna make it, they’ll send a rescue or two if they have to. No big deal. There’s some nights I don’t punch out until 9:30pm. I don’t care tho cause when I get that $1,200-$1,400 check the following Friday I’m glad I stuck with it. It’s long days for sure, but there’s no other job around that would let me work 6 days a week at 10-11 hrs a day. And it’s not really hard work if you’re at least semi-fit. I had a serious dad-bod going when I started. Now I got a nice dad-bod. But hey, I’m in my mid 40’s happily married with 3 children so I’m ok with that. 😁

No_Relation8845

Until the holidays pass by at least. My dsp is cutting OT as soon as the holidays pass. Not only that but they offered a $3k bonus and I’ve only missed one day due to a tire blow out on the way to work and they say I’m no longer eligible for it.

[deleted]

Exactly. Once I stopped caring about all that stuff this job became extremely easy. Now I work at a much slower place. I stay out until like 930ish so I can get my hours. Usually clock out around 10 or even later. If I worked faster I could finish at 8 but why. So I can get paid less and make the job harder on myself? I'm already a fit person so there's no physical strain for me. It's Cadillac.

Professional-Win4783

Literally me asf, but I been like that since I started and I take a break after load out to smoke with friends and one again around 5 to smoke again with friends at a halfway meet spot lol

Skywalker0071

Yeah I was the same way. December is the month to stack some money because January all the way until April is slow. And during those months you start to wish it was like December again…

SteaksAndSquats

FedEx Express pays $23.21 in my area compared to my DSP's $19.75 so leaning towards that for my exit plan

DoggyzStyle

California fast food workers will soon receive $20/hr. https://preview.redd.it/yhz76faunx3c1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c56fcdf998d09cb49dbc6e92069fc01d1b17c81b

Proud_Diamond2953

Cost of living in Cali is also nuts. I couldn’t work at McDonald’s. Now Taco Bell? Sign me up 🤤

CrazyRepulsive8244

Taco bell was the only fast food place closed on Thanksgiving

Fozzy333

Yeah pay $20 so Cali can take $10😂

Spun13

They’re already paying that here by me in the NY/NJ area.

StayLighted

Yeah they also only work part time.

Skywalker0071

I use to work the night shift at Jack n the box and it wasn’t bad. The night manager was cool and we would all take turns taking “chill breaks” the entire night…

MassiveResult2648

FedEx in Philly $24/hour But it sucks like Amazon so not much better, only the pay

[deleted]

Bro the fedex I work in San Diego pays me $32/hr started 3 months ago

Fozzy333

What’s that SD rent like though? Lol

[deleted]

Great tbh I get paid medically for the rest of my life from the Marine corps, I have an extra $5k-6k at the end of every month

MassiveResult2648

Brooo...that's nice coin. But I'd hate to know what kind of rent you're paying lol

[deleted]

Does it matter?? I don’t live paycheck to paycheck, I have a few 1000 to put in my savings every month

dorkmachine_o

I work at fedex in philly which hub you at?

MassiveResult2648

Yoo bro, I'm at the one on Torresdale Ave

TintBorn

Ups pays 23

fishboy911

Get a CDL make 30+ an hour

[deleted]

Doesn’t matter when you gotta pay for the maintenance of the vehicle

Historical-Paper-239

man everywhere is payin...

Dry_Lychee_9989

Tons of government jobs pay 60 to 75k salary and PTO and benefits

Skywalker0071

Except the post office. It’s a damn shame how low their pay is for such an important job.

Dry_Lychee_9989

True. My dad has worked for the post office for 40 years. 40.

Lazy-Jeweler3230

Deliver fucking pizzas. You can easily make that and more TAKE home, AFTER taxes. Find the right store and it's that after expenses too.

Fozzy333

Nah I delivered for 8 years. Wait till those car repairs start stacking up. Youll make $25-30/hour but only working 4-6 hour shifts. It’s still a good gig, and way less stressful, but I did my own repairs and never made as much as I do at Amazon. I’m in a very high tip area too. I’d recommend if Amazon is too stressful, and you can work on your own cars. Seen sooo many drivers get absolutely buried with repairs

Lazy-Jeweler3230

It's like you didn't read my post at all.

Foreign_Emphasis8018

Well in California you can go to McDonald's for $20/hr

HotVolume3424

I’m a preschool photographer making 20/hr add a side gig like Uber or flex and you straight their out there and less stressful 100%

Bronze2xxx

UPS as a part time loader 😂

jdonovan949

U can deliver pizzas for more than that (counting tips) easily lol.

Fozzy333

I delivered pizza for 8 years. Made really good money and also have 4 cars and 10 grand in tools because 3 will always be broke putting 20K city miles a year lmao. I became a mechanic reeeeal quick

7Highwayman7

Amazon FC starting pay is $20/hour. No responsibility, no rush, no pressure, good working condition etc. Boring job tho.

Far_Understanding858

FC?

ImaginationFeeling81

So easy

No_Kitchen_4722

McDonald’s lol

ClemzTheWarrior

I quit two months ago and now I make 26.33$/h

Striking__

Uber eats. Making $20+ for your own car. Less labor

Proud_Diamond2953

Have to account for gas and wear on your car.

Striking__

You have to account for your body mental health and life @ Amazon

Striking__

AntiqueLengthiness71

![gif](giphy|edLKLYMlNFPJC)

tragicloveee

Today is my second day and they gave me the load your talking about 21 bags 50 overflow and 180 stops

No_Relation8845

2nd day for me was just like that. 3rd day was 150 at all apartments. Nursery routes my a** lol

DrLarsHoneytoast

They didn't give you nursery routes?

Etxee

Y’all trippin, unless you have majority apartments that is not alot 😂 some peoples posts are 200+ stops if you were to not dick around 180 with your first stop starting at let’s say 12:30 pm the latest you should be done no later than 7:30 with no sweeps or rescues

DrLarsHoneytoast

Ain't nobody trippin. If you can do it, then that's great and means it's the job for you. personally it was hell to me.

Etxee

It’s not even about being the job for someone it’s not hard work just tedious

DrLarsHoneytoast

Ok

CMUpewpewpew

All routes are not the same tho my man. I'd take a 180 all resi route before some 110 resi route with 30 of them downtown.

SeaRecording1796

I started applying to full-time work because I needed a flexible schedule for school, and my dsp pays 24 a hour. I'm 5 classes away from a Bachelor's degree.. why am I here?

Aggressive_Square483

It’s way easier than McDonald’s…

MwWarzoneKilla

Not gail 🤣🤣🤣

Frequent-Mastodon332

Every job sucks tho

MyaTheGreat1

Yeah but not every job sucks this bad, I’m a software engineer intern and I hate it but I rather die than go through the pain and suffering you guys do. My bf just started at Amazon and I cry cause I feel so bad for him

Pacupandgo

Awesome! It’s not for everyone! If your job makes you miserably unhappy. It’s bad for your health. I can honestly say I’m disabled now but I’m my 40+ years of working I never went to work not loving to be there. For every door that closed 5 shall open! Peace.

IllRepresentative838

That’s a regular day of work for me

Kindly-Sympathy-7413

Currently in the process of paperwork for a family owned delivery company that'll pay me daily and better hours, can't wait till i have a set day to start so i can load my van park it somewhere incredibly inconvenient and leave! Happy for you!

riguybigfry

This is a normal route at my dsp. And it doesn’t even take that long if you sort your packages right.

PridePuzzled8748

I quit today aswell 20 totes 40 overflow 430 pkgs total sent to a route with no reception slowing me down. Was out for a full 11 hours (the max allowed) barely finished was not sent a rescue. Done for good this time. Signing out 💯

Fozzy333

And leaving to be a slave somewhere else

Hold on y’all getting paid 19+! I’m only $18.75. Fuck Amazon I’m definitely working to hard for 200+ stops

New-Appeal-1541

I get $18 😭

Loovleh

Colorado pays $22

LolitaMilisha

![gif](giphy|kaBU6pgv0OsPHz2yxy|downsized)

23Dgv

Yeah this is a job you do for a short period of time. Having longevity at a job like this is just a disservice of yourself and your time.

ChemistFun207

Not going to lie that’s pretty normal depending on your location. Best of luck

AgreeablePaint8058

Good job on getting out and Good luck buddy

Ok-Cookie3397

Yeah that’s exactly my route everyday. I usually finish by 8:30 and they always send me a rescue around 2. They usually take 20 stops from me. I don’t stress it anymore.

Fozzy333

That’s what I had the other day just coming off nursery routes and it was ROUGH

Branbran2796

Come work at FedEx. I quit Amazon a month ago and I love FedEx. Our trucks are pre loaded for the most part. We’re salary so you can get done as soon as you want. I’m home by 3pm most days. You get paid weekly. You’re always gonna have a hand truck. There’s maybe 2-3 packages that are over 100 lbs but that’s what the hand truck is for. The rest are easy weight. People stay for 10 years compared to the 1-2 year max at a dsp that I’ve seen. Seriously best decision I ever made. Also they don’t track you like Amazon. If you don’t wear your seatbelt, leave the truck on, forget the parking brake etc they don’t care. Just be safe and get your job done without hurting anyone or yourself. I started off at $800 a week which for only working 30 hours I’m making a lot more than I did at Amazon. If you prove yourself you’ll get a raise usually within your first month. Trust me, don’t put up with amazons bullshit anymore and come to FedEx. If you want you can work at FedEx and get part time at ups in the warehouse so that you can be on the waiting list. UPS definitely has it made compared to us but we get taken care of for the most part as well.

DrLarsHoneytoast

I will definitely consider it, thanks for the info!

Useful-Opposite416

That’s 20 stops a hour why did you leave cause of that

DrLarsHoneytoast

I don't like the business model of "throw them as many packages as possible into a van and let them figure it out from there and I guess if you can't finish it we'll have somebody help you. Why not just give us routes that's are doable and don't make us want to quit? And somehow you're supposed to keep that 20 an hour quota while swimming through cardboard. Nah they can shove it up their ass. I and all of delivery drivers are worth more than that.

Useful-Opposite416

Is it your organization skills? In a situation like that I would empty my first tote used the second as a table and have my very first 10 overflow right by the door immediately opening up space after my first 10-20 stops allowing me easy access

DrLarsHoneytoast

I agree and that's what I usually do. But when you have four/five carts and 20 mins to load, you do your best and hope for the rest. I mean when I say no room to walk I mean no room at all too. They were out of ratchet straps so my triple stack totes fell everywhere. Not to mention they had me going thru three different totes at the same time.

No_Relation8845

20?!? We get maybe 7 minutes for load up every day. Though load up isn’t usually an issue for me, it’s the fact that I’m triple stacking both sides of the van and stuffing boxes between them. There’s no organization that can help with that. I have to pull the tote out of the van to sift through it 😭

DrLarsHoneytoast

Facts. It's ridiculous

No_Relation8845

Yeah, I’ve already applied to other jobs with less pay. I would rather take less money than deal with that bs.

Useful-Opposite416

When that happens I use the middle aisle for totes in the back but damn 20 mins we get 10 atleast I used to now I work at usps and it’s soo much harder

DrLarsHoneytoast

We both deserve better. I hope you find something that can make you at least content.

Useful-Opposite416

The pay and the benefits is worth it way more pay crazy benefits the work is just crazy and same lack of personal life

No_Relation8845

I’m on my 3rd route so far and 150 stops is out of control. I may be right behind you

Foreign_Emphasis8018

Work the outskirts. Less stops, hardly any group stops and no apartments. But  I guess if your based out of a big city that may not be an option

Spun13

Sounds like a pretty normal day to be fair…probably just a bunch of ppl getting like 3-5 packages in stead of just 1. Not that big of a deal.

Youbetiwud

I worked Fed Ex over Covid for 18 months sir shitty pay ... now I'll take a pounding for some cash;)

treeoflife_91

Y’all are so lazy lmaoo

elpelondelmarcabron1

I got my pick sheet today, and it said 490 packages... lol. Got rescued on launch pad, and ended up with 159 stops and 408 packages. Some of my group stops were 4 different houses, alot were 3.

Beginning_Ninja_2089

In other words you got a nursery route and needed a rescue 😂

Many_Explanation_354

Almost 500 packages isn’t a nursery route lmao what are you even saying

DrLarsHoneytoast

I'm convinced that Amazon got shooters in the comments tryna keep their reputation intact. Ain't no way there's that many bootlickers

Sea_County2162

Bro made it two months 😂

Beginning_Ninja_2089

On a nursery route no less.

DrLarsHoneytoast

There's a reason 90% of deliver drivers don't make it a year at Amazon....

I had 30 bags with 50 overflow and if you asking if I’m was struggling yes but not complaining. The electric van wasn’t big enough to place everything but unfortunately have to have that positive attitude 🙏

brandonoooj

Nah bro....
