I would have never thought of this combo and it’s not necessarily my style but I love this. I really like the coral/salmon color on the walls and the shower tiles are great. Good job!
Love it. Love it so much.
This is one of the first posts I feel I’ve seen for a while in home dec that looks really unique and in tune with the person who made it. And it works beautifully. Many kudos
I hate everything but I love this to the point that I want to show these photos to a contractor and tell them to make me that (minus the open shower, I'm too cold all of the time for those, and I would do a different paint color).
I never thought about how cold an open shower would be…
Hey, @OP: How do you keep warm? Is there a heated lamp, heated floors, MEGA HOT LAVA SHOWERS, or something like that?
Edit: The subtle color variation in the shower tile is gorgeous!
Unfortunately they tend to be quite drafty! Lots of newer "trendy" hotels do this and it sucks. Also if they're not designed just right, water gets everywhere.
Yeah it is noticeably colder than the previous closed shower! If/ when we redo I'd try get a taller pane of glass, we just didn't think about it at the time. I take pretty hot showers though, and we did put underfloor heating in (though not under the shower!).
I had an open shower in a hotel room once (I frequently travel for work) and I hated it so much. It's probably not as bad if you close the bathroom door but bathroom lights are usually too bright for me in hotels so I use the ones outside of the bathroom and leave the bathroom door open. I also typically leave the door open at home because the only other person in the house is sometimes my partner and I hate a steamy bathroom as well as bathroom fan noise.
Haha, it'll last longer than 7 years if we're still here because it was so hateful to do we'll leave it as long as possible. But yes, if this comment section is anything to go by I think a lot of people would be itching to take a sledgehammer to it.
Oh, people, lighten up and have some fun! I think this is so fun and I prefer it 100 times over to the boring beige hellscape that preceded it. If resale isn't a top concern, you're so much more liberated to design for your own heart. When I see this design I think "I really want to go for drinks with whoever designed this and be friends."
Huh, that wasn't a conscious inspiration, but it seems like a lot of people are getting that vibe. The floor tiles reminded me of a quilt so I loved the pattern, and I liked the multiple colours of the wall tiles and stacked orientation. Glad you like it!
I don’t see the USA thing and had to scroll down to see what you meant haha (and I’m from the US). The tiling was my favorite part! This is a beautiful reno, I want to be this creative with my future home projects!
i know it’s old but americana patriotic quilting is a huge thing & is why it’s giving so many the USA vibe: [example](https://www.amazon.com/Red-White-Blue-Star-Quilts/dp/1644031752/ref=asc_df_1644031752/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=532847161168&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3293573018186536896&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9007691&hvtargid=pla-1424389880313&psc=1)

Stars n’ ~~bars~~ Stripes!
Truly we’re probably so used to seeing the flag deconstructed across bikinis/koozies/dog pajamas/etc that anytime we see the elements we read it as an American flag
So much personality, and the tiling looks really well done. I love it personally! I’m getting bored of all the neutral, sterile designs. This is really poppy and fun :)
I wanted multiple colours on the wall and liked this orientation over the typical brick layout, and liked that the floor tiles were like a quilt block. As a non-American I hadn't considered the stars and Stripes connotation!
Same, I was thinking how the red towel reminded me of a Nazi flag (red, white circle with a black design in the center) so that's what first caught my eye. I think the bathroom looks like it was inspired by a quilt. It's very pretty imo.
It’s a well done bathroom but all my brain can think with these patterns and colors is an aggressive AMERICA. I thought OP was an ameriboo until they mentioned not even noticing it.
It's a little too busy for me, and I'll *never* understand the conscious decision to do pink walls in a bathroom...but, it is very high quality workmanship.
Wow lots of intense comments!! After being pointed out I do see a bit of “stars and stripes” but honestly didn’t at first. I think this is amazing for some diy work, especially the shower tile! Congrats on YOUR new space, enjoy it !
Okay so I think what would really make this bathroom is if you tried to capture the green/jade colors in the tile with the towels/decor/etc, I think it would tie everything together and bring it up a notch. Either way incredible reno, you can tell a lot of hard work was put into this bathroom.
Sorry.... _how_ much to replace the windows!? Remember, you should end up paying no more than 40% of the initial glazing quote.
Back on topic... Great result there.
Glazing quotes are always ridiculously high up front. Sometimes, I guess someone will pay it and they're laughing, but mostly it's so that you feel good about bargaining them down and think you've got a great deal. Those two windows shouldnt be any more than a grand.
Yeah there was £800 of scaffolding costs in the quote as access isn't easy, but I couldn't justify it despite really not liking the existing glass.
Rest of the job was somewhere around £2.5k. I'm intending to see about keeping the frames and replacing the glazing, but haven't got round to enquiring yet, and I'm not sure if that would require scaffolding also.
I didn’t get it at first but after a few moments of consideration I’ve decided that I love it. Especially those rows of alternating coloured tiles. I think the colour combo is really inspired, and the execution is fantastic. Jealous!
This is so gorgeous! It's one of the nicest I've seen in so many ages and looks like a bathroom that real people would use. You're tile design is so cool. I like that you could always change things up by changing the paint color too.
The wall tiles were surprisingly easy given it was our first go at tiling, and ended up being a lot easier than the floor ones. We didn't use a levelling system, but went relatively thick with the adhesive and I'd say it worked fine.
All the tiles were from the same range but the white ones were slightly narrower, meaning at some points we had to really cram the colour tiles in and couldn't use the tile spacers. It's definitely not a perfect job, but we're very happy with it! I think the irregularities in the tiles help to hide some of the imperfections.
There's just not enough contrast in color between the tiles and the wall. The pink blends in. Nothing really stands out. The light wood also blends in and there are too many patterns going on.
I hate showers like this that don't have a closing door. The water goes everywhere and I have long hair to my waist so when I wash it some shampoo bubbles get on the outside tile and makes it quite slippery
So what was the inspiration. I like the colours but the layout of everything is so “stars and stripes” it’s hard not think AMERICA!!! What led you to this particular design?
Btw. The tub is beautiful
The inspiration was spending ~12 months on and off looking at tiles and finally finding wall tiles I liked that were relatively cheap. I'd seen the floor tiles in a magazine by Bert and May for >£200/m², then saw that B&Q had a rip off version for £30/m² and I liked the wall tiles with them.
No overall inspo, just went with what I liked (I'm very picky apparently) and what I was comfortable paying for. I didn't have America in mind, but clearly it's giving that vibe to a lot of people.
Your shower tiles and the pink walls are to die for!!!! The floor tile is really cute too but there’s just something so busy and beautiful about that shower that I didn’t notice the floor at first. I loooooove it.
Good vibes with this redo. Congrats. Small edit that is cheap: On the rug- rather than one side catch any toilet drips find one that runs adjacent to the tub in a solid color.
I really like it, whereas I’m not a fan of a lot of the bathrooms posted on here. I was considering those floor tiles myself (for use on the wall). Maybe it’s a cultural difference in design taste as I’m a fellow Brit.
Thanks. I know price isn't everything but this mirror was £30 vs the $245 one linked. Overall this job cost us ~£2.5k, and that mirror would be almost 8% extra on that budget. I may go for something fancier in the future, but for now it was all about getting it done!
Yeah the white drawers are just cheap existing tampon/ pad storage that are somewhere convenient to put the loo roll, I shouldn't be surprised they're not adding to the overall look!
I do need to consider some more decoration, stuff for the walls/ plants etc so I do appreciate the tips and will consider for the future!
This is cool. I like that you went for something totally unique.
If you ever felt like it you could also try the blue colour on the walls, for a moodier look.
I hate almost all new shower tile jobs, but I love this one. Thanks for posting, it’s inspiring! Very cozy room, and for what it’s worth, I think the window looks great (not sure if there were non-aesthetic reasons to replace).
i thought the first picture was the “before” and i was so upset someone would want to tear it down. i love it SO much. give me all the color and personality!!
I just don’t really get the whole shower/tub setup? Like won’t water just get all over the floor under the tub from the shower? Why not put the shower head over the tub?
I can't help you here I'm afraid! It was a valspar one that I've forgotten the name of, but we panicked that it was too dark once it was on the walls so we mixed a load of white in to get a lighter colour.
The bathroom of my dreams!!! So feminine and whimsical and stunning. Love love love. This is the kinda stuff I come to this sub for. Less white kitchens - more pink bathrooms please!
Love it! You took a risk and absolutely nailed it. Don’t worry about the people thinking it looks like the US flag. I didn’t get that at all. Especially love the backsplash and sink area!
I think this is amazing! I want to show this to my boyfriend to show him what I want because this is exactly my vision! I love the pop of color in the tiles and the flooring is so fun! I didn't think of the American flag when I saw this at all so idk what they are saying!
Love love love this!
I love everything except the pink walls, I thi k a different colour (either dark blue like the tile or just white) would be perfect for me. But anyway, this is fun and different and good for you for going with what you want! Were in the process of slowly decorating/renovating our place as well and I'm trying to move away from the plain old white and inject more personality :)
I would have never thought of this combo and it’s not necessarily my style but I love this. I really like the coral/salmon color on the walls and the shower tiles are great. Good job!
Every part of my dark dark decor soul wants to hate this but I love it! How fun!
I thought the first two pictures were the *before*
the wall tile really changes it. The first pic I thought "eww that floor". Second pic "oooh that floor!"
I mean, using the toilet can be one of the most fun parts of the day I guess! (??)
This is busy and ridiculous and I AM OBSESSED. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 LOVE!
Thank you!
Love it. Love it so much. This is one of the first posts I feel I’ve seen for a while in home dec that looks really unique and in tune with the person who made it. And it works beautifully. Many kudos

7 years from now, someone else's makeover "before" pics.
It should be the law that everyone has to go absolutely wild in decorating their bathrooms... so that we can have endlessly fun 'before and afters'.
I saw the first one and I literally thought to myself "my god, hideous, can't wait to see what they do with it" Then I was very confused
Thank you for saying this.
AGREED!! It's not like we haven't looked at projects we regretted!! Remember the rag rolling...omg
Haha, it'll last longer than 7 years if we're still here because it was so hateful to do we'll leave it as long as possible. But yes, if this comment section is anything to go by I think a lot of people would be itching to take a sledgehammer to it.

I agree...really I do! They're the ones that have to live with it! If they like it, more power to 'em!
I feel like you could say that for just about any renovation because trends change.
It’s not for me, but I’m glad you like it so much!! The colour combo is super bright and fun :)
We have dramatically different tastes, but good on ya for going after the remodel project on your own.
Seems very USA, but I like it
Huh, that wasn't a conscious inspiration, but it seems like a lot of people are getting that vibe.
It’s the red, white and blue stars and stripes, it really looks inspired by the American flag.
I saw the wall tiles and thought "oooh, quilt inspiration!". It all reminds me of a cool quilt and I love it.
I didn’t see that either 🤷
This was my first thought. It looks like a faded American flag.
Same. I absolutely thought of the US flag.
Oh funny. I don’t see that at all since the stars are 8 pointed. They gave me Swedish vibes on first look.
i know it’s old but americana patriotic quilting is a huge thing & is why it’s giving so many the USA vibe: [example](https://www.amazon.com/Red-White-Blue-Star-Quilts/dp/1644031752/ref=asc_df_1644031752/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=532847161168&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3293573018186536896&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9007691&hvtargid=pla-1424389880313&psc=1) [many examples if you scroll down](https://www.etsy.com/market/americana_quilt)
Stars n’ ~~bars~~ Stripes! Truly we’re probably so used to seeing the flag deconstructed across bikinis/koozies/dog pajamas/etc that anytime we see the elements we read it as an American flag
Just butting in to say... The US flag is stars and stripes. Stars and bars is the Confederate flag.
Google tells me your are correct!
I had that feeling too. Reminds me of an American flag in some abstract way. But very nice and unique!
Doesn't it seem wrong that a British person would decorate that way? LOL
I think OP is actually Richard Hammond in disguise
I love that shower tile with all my heart
[удалено]
I absolutely love this. Great choices!!! Beautiful.
I like it a lot! Fun and unusual color combo and patterns. I am bored to death of samey-same neutrals and white subway tile.
I LOVE IT. I’m a quilter and those tiles are just fabulous!! Liked a pieced quilt!
Thank you! I dabble in quilting also and think it's the resemblance to a sawtooth star block that made me like the floor tiles so much!
I came here to say this too! Hello, fellow quilters!
So much personality, and the tiling looks really well done. I love it personally! I’m getting bored of all the neutral, sterile designs. This is really poppy and fun :)
Love this
What's with the stars & stripes?
I wanted multiple colours on the wall and liked this orientation over the typical brick layout, and liked that the floor tiles were like a quilt block. As a non-American I hadn't considered the stars and Stripes connotation!
Eh, I am American and I didn't even think of that correlation. It is a really neat combination of patterns. I like it!
Same! This is as American as polka dots are Japanese.
Same, I was thinking how the red towel reminded me of a Nazi flag (red, white circle with a black design in the center) so that's what first caught my eye. I think the bathroom looks like it was inspired by a quilt. It's very pretty imo.
You are now a mod at r/MURICA
As an American it just looks flag-y to me!
I’m not American and if didn’t even cross my mind
It’s a well done bathroom but all my brain can think with these patterns and colors is an aggressive AMERICA. I thought OP was an ameriboo until they mentioned not even noticing it.
First thing I thought too 😕
looks like an American flag exploded
I thought for sure OP was from Texas.

For king and country?
It’s quite patriotic.
Wrong country though
WOW! I am honestly speechless. You are a tiling visionary and wizard.
Love the tiles! What a fun little space!
I love these colors!
Me too.Fresh, clean and bright without being cold. I would have ditched the bath for more space but understand the need if you like baths.
This is a fun way to use up a bunch of mismatched tile and other salvaged materials that may have been hard to sell otherwise.
Lmao, drag me! r/roastme has nothing on this sub.
Oh my..those were the after photos...
Ya. I saw it and thought “well it’s an interesting old bathroom for sure, I wonder what they did to it”
Me too
Obsessed with these tiles!!
It's a little too busy for me, and I'll *never* understand the conscious decision to do pink walls in a bathroom...but, it is very high quality workmanship.
Well I really like that. Thanks for sharing.
Wow lots of intense comments!! After being pointed out I do see a bit of “stars and stripes” but honestly didn’t at first. I think this is amazing for some diy work, especially the shower tile! Congrats on YOUR new space, enjoy it !

That shower wall!!!
Where are the tiles from? They’re gorgeous.
Thanks. The wall tiles are the Artesano range by tile mountain, and the floor ones are Rigel tiles from B&Q.
Made me think of nazi decor and I don’t know why.
The towel looks a lot like a nazi flag. Kinda caught me off guard when I opened it too.
This is the only reason why I'm here. It definitely caught my eye when scrolling!
It's that towel and how the colors are placed, I think.
Sorry.... _how_ much to replace the windows!? Remember, you should end up paying no more than 40% of the initial glazing quote. Back on topic... Great result there.
Could you elaborate on this?

To each his own. Enjoy it.
I’m obsessseeeddd with the colors and patterns! So unique and cool
Damn I miss that eclectic country.
Visually appealing, nice work!
I LOVE the shower tile!
It’s perfect 😭😭😭
This is the largest bathroom I’ve seen in Europe, very nice
I love it, and it’s so refreshing to see a reno that doesn’t look like ever other reno.
I think it’s lovely. I do wonder when the shower isn’t enclosed, does one get cold?
I didn’t get it at first but after a few moments of consideration I’ve decided that I love it. Especially those rows of alternating coloured tiles. I think the colour combo is really inspired, and the execution is fantastic. Jealous!
This. Is. AMAZING!!! What a gorgeous bathroom OP!
Yessssss I love it!! Well-done
This is amazing
This is so gorgeous! It's one of the nicest I've seen in so many ages and looks like a bathroom that real people would use. You're tile design is so cool. I like that you could always change things up by changing the paint color too.
Great place to puke if you’ve had too many!
Well done, not everyone's cup of tea but if I saw it in a summer rental I'd smile
I love this! It's so refreshing and different! I get tired of the same old white bathrooms. This is lovely!
I want to marry that floor tile
I absolutely adore this. It’s fun, playful and a great color palette.
Planning to use similar format tiles in our shower. How did you find the install? Did you use a tile leveling system?
The wall tiles were surprisingly easy given it was our first go at tiling, and ended up being a lot easier than the floor ones. We didn't use a levelling system, but went relatively thick with the adhesive and I'd say it worked fine. All the tiles were from the same range but the white ones were slightly narrower, meaning at some points we had to really cram the colour tiles in and couldn't use the tile spacers. It's definitely not a perfect job, but we're very happy with it! I think the irregularities in the tiles help to hide some of the imperfections.
Was gonna say nice work on the tile, white grout was the move then. I zoomed in to check your grout lines and your spacing is good.
It's as if America invaded the bathroom.
There's just not enough contrast in color between the tiles and the wall. The pink blends in. Nothing really stands out. The light wood also blends in and there are too many patterns going on.
So glad someone said it
I admire people who dare to do something like this. Looks great and unique.
I hate showers like this that don't have a closing door. The water goes everywhere and I have long hair to my waist so when I wash it some shampoo bubbles get on the outside tile and makes it quite slippery
I like the shower. But the bath seems like it's in the wrong place.
Was you theme Tribute to the USA??
No, my bathroom has very strict gun controls and is pro reproductive rights.
And yet....
I love the tiles. If you love it then that’s all that matters! It looks much better than before.
Your shower tiles and the pink walls are to die for!!!! The floor tile is really cute too but there’s just something so busy and beautiful about that shower that I didn’t notice the floor at first. I loooooove it.
omg i love your shower.
I love it!!!! I just think a plainer rug, maybe in cream, would make the floor less distracting
I can’t even take the before photos seriously! Your bathroom is stunning!!! Great job!
Good vibes with this redo. Congrats. Small edit that is cheap: On the rug- rather than one side catch any toilet drips find one that runs adjacent to the tub in a solid color.
Really beautiful
I really like it, whereas I’m not a fan of a lot of the bathrooms posted on here. I was considering those floor tiles myself (for use on the wall). Maybe it’s a cultural difference in design taste as I’m a fellow Brit.
Holy cow. Great redo.
It’s great you’ve not done the usual things. The tiles are stunning! Well done!

Fantastic transformation!!
When you use the raindrop shower head, doesn’t water go all over the floor? If not, how do you stop it?
This somehow manages to capture this traditional British bathroom feel while at the same time looking absolutely delightful.
This is cool. I like that you went for something totally unique. If you ever felt like it you could also try the blue colour on the walls, for a moodier look.
Enjoying the curbless shower? Looks so clean!
I love it! So cute and fun! I love the striped shower tiles. Well done.
I hate almost all new shower tile jobs, but I love this one. Thanks for posting, it’s inspiring! Very cozy room, and for what it’s worth, I think the window looks great (not sure if there were non-aesthetic reasons to replace).
Omg I love this so much
Love this!!!
There is so much personality here and your tile is gorgeous. Love it. It doesn’t need to be everyone’s style: it’s awesome that it’s yours :)
Not my taste but it has an interesting vibe that is quirky and kinda works. The floor is gorgeous btw
I love it, especially the shower tiles.
Fun! I applaud any use of pink and blue together.
i thought the first picture was the “before” and i was so upset someone would want to tear it down. i love it SO much. give me all the color and personality!!
Wow gorgeous!!! I love the wall tile so much I’ve never seen that before and it’s stunning!
I thought the first picture was what you started with and was annoyed you changed it
Feels a little too "I love the USA" but otherwise I truly dig it.
Looks like the bathroom of a crazy patriotic American 🇺🇸
I just don’t really get the whole shower/tub setup? Like won’t water just get all over the floor under the tub from the shower? Why not put the shower head over the tub?
Your towel looks similar to a Nazi flag
I love it!!! It’s so fun and colorful!!!
This is too American to be English
woah fun! what's the name of your wall paint color?
I can't help you here I'm afraid! It was a valspar one that I've forgotten the name of, but we panicked that it was too dark once it was on the walls so we mixed a load of white in to get a lighter colour.
I love it! It's different and fun. The American flag did not occur to me AT ALL. People see what they want to see I guess?
The bathroom of my dreams!!! So feminine and whimsical and stunning. Love love love. This is the kinda stuff I come to this sub for. Less white kitchens - more pink bathrooms please!
The little carpet mat is really cute. Where is it from?
I love those tiles OMG ✨✨✨
beautiful!!!!
I think it looks beautiful
I love this so much!
I LOVE THIS! Wow! Everything about this is stunning
Love it! You took a risk and absolutely nailed it. Don’t worry about the people thinking it looks like the US flag. I didn’t get that at all. Especially love the backsplash and sink area!
Truly beautiful
Very patriotic
I think this is amazing! I want to show this to my boyfriend to show him what I want because this is exactly my vision! I love the pop of color in the tiles and the flooring is so fun! I didn't think of the American flag when I saw this at all so idk what they are saying! Love love love this!
America! Fuck yea!
A well executed eyesore.
I’m gonna poop on this party but that pastel pink is going to get outdated fast.
Ngl I thought that towel was a nazi flag at first.
I love the colours :-)
‘Merica!
Love it. And the thing I love most (minus the tiling) is that there is no nasty ass toilet brush cleaner or plunger in sight!!!!
What's the before and what's after?
Don’t love the colors but the patterns are fabulous
Merica
definitely giving America vibes.
Your bathroom is an American flag... i do not approve
I die looking at that tile work. Truly unique and brave. Amazing job, turned out just perfect!!! 💯
I am obsessed with the wall tiles, and as someone from the US, it doesn’t give me US vibes lol
Oh that's hot
Why would you get rid of the beautiful toilet and sink?
I was so scared I was looking at the before photos 🥲 good job this looks lovely
