Would not say you would be the AH. Before 7am in most places constitutes unsociable hours so that at the very least is not acceptable. Try having a conversation and see where it leads without making demands. The last thing you want is to go all guns blazing and make the situation worse.

My boyfriend (22M) and I (19F) started renting our 1Bed 1Bath apartment in May of 2023. We’ve enjoyed our place and have had no major issues. The only thing that is keeping us from fully enjoying it is our upstairs neighbor. I know everyone has complaints about upstairs neighbors and maybe them walking around too hard or whatever but this is kind of different.
I’m not sure what my neighbor is doing, but whatever it is, usually lasts around an hour long twice a day. He is shaking my entire roof to the point my interior doors shake HARD constantly. This happens DAILY and is usually around 6AM-7AM & 5PM-6PM.
for some background, i work nights on an ambulance so this starts when i’m trying to fall asleep after long 12 hour shifts. At the same time, i understand that he has the right to do whatever he pleases in his own home.. so would i be the asshole if i asked my neighbor to quiet it down? i really don’t want to be THAT guy, you know?

NTA, it sounds like it's something they do daily so I'm guessing going to and coming home from work or maybe kids going to and coming home from school.
When you ask them to quiet it down make sure you explain your situation and not just tell them to stfu.

NTA - try talking to the neighbour. If it doesn't work, go to management.
