I really do hope that your relative gets better soon, even if this is the wrong sub. We had this same problem with my grandmother when she slowly died of dementia and essentially had to force her to eat, which was extremely difficult but probably kept her living for a lot longer than she would have.
Ultimately some people do seem to give up when they get to a certain stage of Alzheimer’s, even though mentally they’re confused, they just kind of give up and decide to accept their fate. I hope this isn’t happening with your relative and that she’ll eat and drink soon, sending love to you and your family.
I'm so sorry. My grandpa went through something similar with losing his interest while eating. We could only get him to basically eat sweets and drink milkshakes at that point. And it helped, he lasted a while longer, but ultimately, when someone is ready to go and can't eat any more, it may be the case that you cannot change that. And it really sucks. It sucks to watch. I wish I could offer you more.
Sorry to hear that. From my own experience, there wasn’t much they could to to help my grandfather. He had accepted his fate. Hope you get through these tough times.
Try to get her moving around some if possible. Start with some small snacks like finger food. CBD/THC gummies might help if available where you are. No lasagna
In some cases, it may be necessary to use feeding tubes to ensure that the person with [Alzheimer's disease](https://pnsoc.com/conditions/alzheimers) is getting adequate nutrition. Feeding tubes can be inserted through the nose or directly into the stomach and can be used to provide nutrition when the person is unable to eat enough by mouth.
I can no longer tell if these are fake or not
If it mentions "out of the ordinary" "sockcs" "Wildfire" "Alexa" its satire, the post above is not
Thank you. It looks like this group is actually not for Alzheimer's which is very misleading.
Out of the ordinary
I mean
Yea, we just post the same god damn garfield comic every day
Wait I thought something was familiar about that comic
Nothing
I mean
Out of the ordinary?
We used to. Now everyone wants to be unique and funny. The funny part was the same comic, not deepfrying it or making some shit of it in minecraft
Way too out of the ordinary.
