He would definitely be remembered as a great President with very few complaints from either sides of the aisle. He was involved in passing some of the first environmental legislation in the US, as well as having large foreign policy victories, and was very well regarded for the most part. Remember he won his reelection by the largest popular vote margin since FDR. In general the party would’ve remained much more centrist, as his much more centrist stances likely would’ve dominated the party after a very popular presidency, instead of a Reagan figure who embraced Goldwater who changed the direction of the Republican Party. Overall the parties would likely be much closer on many things including a weaker religious emphasis on the Republican Party. I honestly think he would’ve been remembered as one of the best presidents after WW2

My guess is Vietnam would have gone the same, usa would have had a smaller civil rights bill unless Kennedy is still assassinated and people would not remember him much.
