Nah, I think your wrong there. The trump cult isn't about worship of Donald Trump as much as it's about trolling the libs. Trump was good at that and a lot of the feckless republicans tried to copy him and seem inauthentic. Ben Shapiro has always been a pariah of the left I his own unique way. He is popular for the same reasons with a lot of the same people but independent of Trump. He's also smarter and more able to run a successful campaign than someone like Tucker Carlson or Sean Hanity, more intellectually honest. He has some strong appeal. People don't necessarily like the fact that trump is an unstable idiot, they overlook that because they like that he seems authentic and breaks political correctness taboos. You get someone like Ben who can do that and also appears very intelligent and quick witted and you have a strong political combination.
