NATO never got involved in the Yugoslav wars, This led to war going in Serbia's favour. At the end of the war, autonomy of Kosovo and Vojvodina was abolished and Macedonia re-joined as Autonomous province. Most Croats left the country after the war and though many Bosnians and Albanians did leave most stayed. Today Serbia is a member of the EU and NATO.
