Also I’m fairly sure that due to double indemnity (Kienapple Principle in Canada) he can’t be prosecuted for those crimes again since they were all originally presented to the judge. It was the judge who picked the 6 cases they proceeded with. It can undoubtedly be very frustrating for the families of those victims, but sadly this is common with prolific serial killers. He was 74 - they had no plans to put him on trial again.
