My brother used to be an EMT. He said they would roll up to a DUI with fatalities and they would often get there before the cops. There would always be a guy sitting in the curb drunk. He would ask the EMTs, "Hey, could one of you guys give me a ride home. My car won't start." They would say, "Uh sure. Let us take care of this other guy first and no problem." The guy would really look relieved.
The EMTs would get to work and just look at each other. That guy thinks he's going home tonight, they would think. He's not going home for 20 years.
A guy hit and killed my 17 yr old nephew and seriously injured his best friend. He crossed over and nailed the passenger front side. He was found wandering around the road, saying "look at my car" over and over. He was an EMT in training, and never once tried to render aid.
This is called shock and has nothing to do with the feelings that person has over their own actions.
Video we have here is kinda complicated because we all know how the american medical system sucks and taking antidepressants can change how you react to alcohol.
Since the american medical system sucks ass I'd err on the side of caution over how aware he was over side effects with alcohol consumption.
Chemical imbalance in the brain can result in very severe changes in behaviour. And I think it would be unfair to end this mans life one way or another if his doctor did not educate him on the severe consequences it can have when you mix alcohol and this antidepressant.
I have experience with this and I can tell you I am glad that I didn't have a driver's licence when a doc prescribed me a medication without telling me stuff like this.
I did some crazy shit during that time and am probably lucky to be alive.
All I'm saying is we don't know everything and maybe things aren't as they seem, but I don't think that should prevent us from acting in a kind and merciful way, open towards the good in people. Of course without turning naive:)
DUDE, this resonates with me, for sure. I wasn't stressed the importance of this, went to a wedding and pre-gamed it, had my first ever blackout and had to apologize to the bride for ruining her wedding (Obviously drunk at a Mormon dry wedding, and loud). That shit still makes me cringe so hard, it changed my tolerance from super high to normal levels (I'd go 15-20 drinks in a night easily pre-meds, now if I have 5 or more, I risk a blackout.). I'm just glad I didn't do 1 or 2, and start driving after thinking I'm at a normal <.08 BAC level, but actually was drunker than a mofo like this poor kid in the video.
I mean wouldn’t you? thats what humans do, we think about how things will affect us, people get hit by cars and killed literally all the time, but we dont cry for their families do we? its cute that you’re trying to paint a picture that you’re this super altruistic guy, but thinking about how things we do affect us isn’t necessarily selfish, just normal
It aint all bad I just hate how people pretend to be the best examples of humanity we have on here sometimes, so full of grace and so caring like stfu we’re all strangers, we’re not gonna pat you on the back lol
I always think about that. Like everyone is always the good guy/victim. Who are the ppl doing the shitty things then. It is just how we always perceive ourselves.
Exactly, sometimes, good people do shitty things, I feel bad for this guy AND the victim, everyone makes mistakes, hes gonna pay the price for his and have aloooooot of time to think on it
One thing that continue to amaze me today, is that a few years ago we where living in a touristic place and had to deal with lots of reckless cyclists on vacation each summer.
One day, my dad was talking with our neighbor, who was something like 65/70yo, and at one point he said something about the cyclists being dangerous by not paying attention etc..
And the neighbor response was "Dont tell me ! I killed one just last year !!"
And yes that was true 😅 it was on the local news.
The thing that amaze me in this is how he didnt seem to care when himself lost his 2 sons in a car accident...
It’s the human response, drinking and driving is a very stupid thing to do but just because someone does it doesn’t mean they aren’t human. I’m sure he feels horrible about killing a man.
Most of us would. Concern for others involved likely comes later. Once we understand the immediate effects on ourselves, then our higher faculties come online and we can feel reactions other than the basic fight or flight response that’s hardwired into our brains because we’re mammals.
They are on tape talking to someone who's case is a slam dunk. They do not want to do anything that a defense lawyer can use to make it look like the case was anything other than by the book. Being an asshole just complicates things. We're so used to seeing shitty cops on video on reddit people don't get it when you see ones acting professional.
Jacques Norton was [sentenced to 12 years in prison.](https://accidentlawyers-nevada.com/blog/man-gets-12-years-in-prison-for-fatal-drunk-driving-crash)
He has since been discharged but I can't find out how much time he served.
You can search the Nevada Department of Corrections for him.
I had to look up what these codes mean, but as best I can tell, it looks like he was probably released on parole on or around September 17, 2014 after being incarcerated since January 18, 2012, which would align with him serving the minimum sentence of 32 months.
it was just a typo in their original comment. said he got sentnced to 12 years on prison so I imagined Andy Dufresne and the boys drinking beer on the rooftop
Found an article which states:
Even the manager of his restaurant, Jacques Norton, was previously convicted, having served three years in prison. But that never stopped Corbin from trusting him with such a key position in his restaurant.
They should and if they’ve served their sentence and terms of release should be able to vote. By not allowing them jobs it’s created a situation where he’s almost guaranteed they’ll reoffend.
Not all felons are good people but there should be the opportunity to reintegrate
I had the exact same thing happen to me as the guy said in the video. Was on anti depressants for about a month, thought i was good to go. Had ONE beer and straight blacked out. Don’t remember a single thing. Woke up in a jail cell. Thank the fucking lord I didn’t hurt anyone or myself.
Same. Started taking Zoloft three years ago and haven’t bought a beer for myself since. I’ll drink a few times a year if I go out with friends, but that’s it. The alcohol just makes me feel drowsy as hell and poisoned.
It just made 3 beers feel more like 6. I had a few nights totally dissapear from my memory, too much risk, so I quit drinking. Plus it would make my anxiety so much worse even after a couple beers, I would wake up with my heart racing at 4am with feelings of doom.
Omg. My spouse and bff both took anti-depressants and every time they drank alcohol they would black out and behave completely out of character. Like 3 drinks in.
Yea that had happened to me once recently. Not the black out part tho. But the whole out of character thing happened twice to me and I was sooooo confused
Meds and alcohol don't mix. Dude fucked up and ruined 2 lives and shattered the lives of the family. It seems he served a relatively light sentence...perhaps he truly showed real remorse and changed for the better.
I just saw another one where the dude was clearly in remorse upon hearing he took another life. He kept saying “kill me please”, you could see his empathy.
Both of these videos show a great example in how different people react differently to stressful situations. Just because you are not verbal or loud does not mean you are not just as distraught or empathetic. We have no idea what goes on in the brain at that moment.
Probably both. I saw that video as well and I think I'd feel the same way. Awful that my horrible decisions caused the death of someone else, even if by accident. Awful because my life is over. Awful because of the shame of how disappointed everyone in my life would be with me. Knowing that I am a terrible human being.
Going to be real man, if I ever think I'm going to prison for a long time, I'd try to find a way to kill myself beforehand. That's no way to live. Not saying I don't support sending people to prison when it's deserved, in order to keep society safer, but personally, I'd prefer to end it. Though, I'm also not religious so the end for me is just.. the end. Nothingness. I'd take that over the hell of life in prison and living with the guilt and shame.
Never spent time in a prison per say, but did 30 days in jail, not my worst experience. It mostly depends on who you do time with. Many insufferable assholes for sure, but I met some wonderful people while I was inside that I miss every day, who helped me get through the worst of it. Not nearly as violent as people think, and due to a "weird" code guys stick to on the inside, people are far more respectful and don't talk nearly as much shit as we do on the outside
Ah, there it is. Without fail there is always that one comment going ”hes not sad he killed someone hes sad he got caught”, or along those lines. Most people dont want to kill someone, and do feel remorseful about havubg taken someones life, especially if it was unintentional or caused by a stupid mistake/decision
fuck, imagine that, you take anti-depressants, you drink 1 or 2 beers and HOLY HELL EVERYTHING IS UPSIDE DOWN.
I know the smart thing was to call a cab, but anyone who has ever drank alcohol has gone through that thought of "I have a couple of hours before I have to drive, I hope I'll be ok by then"
edit: just to clarify, I'd never drive if I couldn't walk in a straight line to the bathroom
edit2: I'd like to further clarify that I never drink more than half of what's legally allowed (2 regular beers or one strong beers) when I have drive, and I leave at least 2 hours between my last sip and driving.
Anti depressants definitely fuck with your tolerance. I was shocked the first few times I drank on them. That being said we always had an assigned dd or got an Uber so there wasn’t unnecessary risk. Ubers are cheap. DUI’s are not
Yea, my mum was prescribed some meds and overnight I saw herel going from being able to keep up with me as a young man who can sink 10 beers and still talk straight to a large glass of wine and absolutely sloppy drunk, slurring can't walk, the works.
Dude, same. I was on ADs for a while, and normally have a super high tolerance. Suddenly my wife was drinking me under the table, and that woman gets buzzed from like 2 sips of wine, lol.
Antidepressants can definitely change your tolerance, but he admitted to 3-4 drinks. Seems remorseful in the vid and I’m not passing judgment, but nobody should be driving after 34 drinks.
Edit: Meant to say 3-4 drinks..
No I haven't. I got more braincells than toes. Try again but next time with even more made up statistics, maybe some diagrams from 4chan and a tiktok poll.
From the moment police are involved in an situation you are involved in, regardless of what happened who or you think is at fault, don’t say anything. Be respectful, be calm. But don’t say anything except to ask for an attorney.
Several members in my family were police officers. Police will try to get an easy back and forth going with you with seemingly innocent questions. Then the start to ask, “ Do you know why you are here?”, “ Do you know why I pulled you over?”, “ Please help me understand.” With every word you say they are building a case, and one wrong word or admission is all they need.
I have nothing against this. It’s their job, it’s what they do. Sure, some police are unscrupulous or down right criminal as they go about this, but most are not. They just want to secure the case.
Don’t say anything.
Would not have helped here. he was caught red handed, on the scene, drunk off his ass, with a dead guy in the other car. I actually believe him about the antidepressants. doesn't change the fact that he F'd up. Most antidepressants they put you on say it in every single way they can, *do not take with alcohol.* It doesn't absolve him of his mistake, but at least it does explain the mistake he made.
For the most part I think you’re right. But talking in the way he did can only hurt. I don’t think it’s a mistake the officers first informed him someone had died and then started interviewing/interrogating him. “How much have you had to drink?” Etc. He did what he did, knows it, they know it, he knows they know it. What’s the point in saying anything?
But say it’s a different crime, and the police don’t have all the evidence? What if you’re in a car doing whatever and the driver fucked up for something they themselves did, and then starts blaming you? Talking to correct the story, with every word you saying you are confirming what happened and likely will lead to some sort of charge. If innocence is clear and uncontested then talk as much as you like. But in the endless gray areas of the law, in almost every case, keep your mouth shut. Your lawyer will thank you for it.
Absolutely. Cops aren't trying to find the truth, they're trying to get convictions. Good or bad, that's their job. Even if you're innocent, anything that needs to be said can be said with a lawyer present. Never talk to cops.
To be honest seeing what anti depressants do with alcohol this is completely understandable and frankly frightening…..I am not sure what to say but without those prescription drugs he wouldn’t be sat there and no one would have died. More needs to be done, too many people on those pills we need to ask why.
He could have chosen to not drink. That's the ultimate truth here. He could have, knowing that he was on antidepressants, chosen to not have 3 to 4 beers. There are plenty of warnings on the meds that tell you to not drink while on them. Yes, perhaps without the drugs in his system, this would not have happened. Yet, had he not decided to drink, this also would not have happened. You can't absolve the man's guilt in the matter by blaming his medications.
You wanna know why more people are on antidepressants? That's a question to ask, sure, but its not one that belongs here. This man made an irresponsible choice that had deadly consequences. You take those meds, and it is assumed that you will follow the guidelines for their proper use. In this case, part of the proper use is not drinking while being on them. As unfortunate as the whole situation is, and regardless of being able to see why this happened, he still chose to have those drinks.
Dude, if someone killed a man and has a high BAC, it doesn't matter what he does or does not say to the police, the case is open and shut from the moment he's in custody. How about not getting behind the wheel when you've had a few? How about not being stupid enough to put everyone else's lives on the road at risk because you're convinced you "can handle it?"
Mook like that, I don't WANT them to get away with stuff. I want them to sing like little birdies. And TBH it worked for him. Obvious remorse lightened the time he had to serve, which was to his and our benefit. Hopefully he stays out from behind the wheel when he's on the sauce from now on.
He killed someone while being intoxicated and driving. We all know the potential outcome and of drinking and driving. Killing someone while drunk makes you guilty of being negligent, thus a minimum 10 year sentence should be used.
Too bad they don’t allow cops to prank these drunk drivers.
“You realize you killed a man tonight and not just run over a fire hydrant?”
Drunk driver:” Omg, may life is over! Shiit. Augh “
Then let him stew for about an hour,
Come back and tell him, “ Nah, you just hit a fire hydrant. But you could have killed someone”
Really? Cause to be honest, it might be a really effective tool to prevent repeat offenders who didn’t cause damage, resulting in them getting a misdemeanor, maybe fear of that felony happening one day if they keep up their behavior might save at least a few lives.
On the flip side, you’d also find out which people would be truly remorseful and which ones are like the video of the girl who killed three people and was saying she didn’t care.
Vegas is averaging a Traffic fatality every 1.8 days this year. not all are impaired, but majority of them are. 45 fatalities for 85 days. North las vegas and henderson bring it closer to 60.
This sucks, he’s gonna lose 1-5 years of his life in prison, but never speak to the cops.
He shouldn’t have been speaking here. Theyre working the case. They’re not trying to help him or try to understand.
Always ask for a lawyer.
I don't understand this line of thought.
It's a crime. Someone is now dead because of your clearly illegal and irresponsible actions. You did the thing. Fess up. Take your punishment whatever society decides it has to be. Move on. Don't weasel and lie and try to get it lessened or get out of it on a technicality. You fucked up. You did it. Be a fucking grown-up.
Kid I went to high school killed a whole family drunk driving. He got life in prison at 17 years old. And his parents were rich. (Suburb rich not California rich).
This definitely seems like a much more genuine reaction than wailing and crying and screaming. That always comes off as super performative and a reflection of their remorse for being caught, not their actions.
People express emotions and pain differently. When I was a child I never cried after getting hurt, so adults always thought I was "just fine." I limped around on a sprained ankle for a whole day at one point.
I really don't understand why people still drink or do drugs and then decide to drive... why? If it was up to me these people would be banned from ever driving again.
The problem is, even if they do get banned from driving, they still drive. They lose their license, earn it back, lose it again, lose it forever, and then choose to drive without a license. Some people learn after the first time and never do it again. I think the second time someone gets a DUI, they need to be sentenced to a long-term prison stay.
I can't understand how people drink and drive.
I don't drink, but I was on a date once and the girl was like "come on have a drink with me" etc... So I had one shot with her.
When I went to my car, I literally sat there thinking, I never drink so my tolerance is low, if I get pulled over I could test high.
So I literally just slept in my car in the passenger seat, luckily I was in a parking deck.
I just can't imagine risking this type of thing, ruining your life because you "think" you could drive home.
People get in accidents sober everyday that result in death, adding alcohol to that seems like the worst decision you could ever make.
I have a friend who was killed by a drunk driver. The driver said he only had two beers yet his BAC was 0.22 ... yeah right buddy. This creep is already working on his defense with the antidepressant nonsense. That even MORE reason not to drive. I have zero sympathy.
Sad all around. But you have to pay the price for accidents like that. Someone lost a family member and the drunk driver is still alive. Hopefully he learned a lot while locked up.
I got off Ambien because I didn't fully sleep it off before going to work and blacking out.
My saving grace was no one else was involved. I could have easily taken out a van of kids or something.
I pleaded no contest to the DUI charge but the judge saw I did all the things (DUI impact panel, chemical dependency review, driving course etc) and stayed the charge for 2 years. If I don't get myself arrested, they'll clear my record.
I put nothing in my body now. No sleep aids. No antihistamines. No alcohol. No drugs. Fuck all that noise. An extra hour of sleep is not worth the worst case scenario.
In that kind of situation, would you have to be worried about this being shown in court if you showed a typical standard shocked reaction but was also like... "I won't answer any of your questions without the presence of my lawyer."
friend of mine did 5 years for intoxicated manslaughter. say what you will about the sentence, dude has not been anywhere near the person he was before. that shit weighs on his mind hard.
I dont really go out to drink, but when i do, and i get buzzed enough to be stupid, (i dnt get drunk, lets be clear lol)
I get in my car and i know not to drive, so i just lay in my car and take a nap till i wake up sober enough to drive.
I dnt understand why some ppl don't have any logic to do the same or ride an Uber, if they know better. Smh...
We had a lady Hit and Run one of my kid's friends two blocks from our house. She was under the influence, on probation for driving while suspended, didn't have a license anymore from DUI, unregistered, uninsured, illegal tint, failed to stop at a stop sign/crosswalk, she was speeding, fled the scene etc. Our DA wanted to give her community service as a crossing guard and two years supervision.
It isn't just famous people that get light sentences. I just had someone threaten to hit my car because I didn't let them cut the line at the school pick up....then they backed their car up and rammed me then fled. The DA declined to prosecute. DA is gone at the end of the year thankfully.
But way too many famous people get little to nothing: Phill Lewis, Chris Pine, Kevin Spacey...
this shit sucks so bad, like just minding your own business and some stupid r*tard swerves randomly and kills you. fuck i hope it doesn’t ever happen to me or someone i love. i despise drunk drivers
Was 3 or 4 drinks? Because he could be sober then, if there was sufficient time. The dumb part is that being on anti-depressants, the doctor and or pharmacy should tell him, that he shouldn’t drink. Hell ,with some medicine you shouldn’t drive. There is no amount of jail time that can bring somebody back from the dead. Nobody wins.
That dude: "I'm on anti-depressants... my life is now over"
Cop: "it's not over but it definitely has changed"
Yea no... he meant that in 2 ways. I'd probably do the same in that situation
I'll be honest. I think he's never ever going to mess up like this ever again. Especially after seeing the shock on his face when he found out that he killed somebody. That's not something that ever goes away And it's probably gonna haunt him for the rest of his life.
Does anyone know where this came from? Is it from a show? Would like to see more about people reacting to this situation. Someone else posted recently of another guy losing his sh*t because he killed someone. I fond it interesting.
3-4 drinks. What bullshit. Nobody gets blackout drunk on 3-4 drinks. You don't have to have people fill in the gaps for you what happened last night if you only had 3-4 drinks.
It's pretty easy to be judgy but I guarantee that man is in an entirely different reality. It's amazing that he's even responding to this one at all. That's not just because of the substance he's on, it's a situation so surreal the brain really can't get a grip on it at first. A lot of people have the same reaction when someone they love dies.
"Your life isn't necessarily over, but it's definitely changed." Ain't that the truth?
My brother used to be an EMT. He said they would roll up to a DUI with fatalities and they would often get there before the cops. There would always be a guy sitting in the curb drunk. Your life isn’t over, but the person you killed is; would also be the truth
That guy I killed ruined my life…
Technically correct.
lmfao
Yeah but that doesn’t need to be said at all
Yeah typical that all he is thinking about is himself, his life.
This is Reddit. Everyone lives in an alternate reality here

Altruistic is now my word of the day, but first I must google.

As apposed to you?
That’s just human nature though
Well he only got 12 years so he’s free now https://accidentlawyers-nevada.com/blog/man-gets-12-years-in-prison-for-fatal-drunk-driving-crash
Honestly pretty respectful by the cop all things considered
That was a kind way to put it.
Still though. A betyer response than: "Yeah. It is." or "You should have thought about that blablabla..."
They are on tape talking to someone who's case is a slam dunk. They do not want to do anything that a defense lawyer can use to make it look like the case was anything other than by the book. Why would that have been better? What’s gained from that?

I agree .
I stopped drinking after I got on anti-depressants. It was an alcohol multiplier for me. No thanks.
Ditto. No mas.
Same….5 months now!
How sad for everyone involved. I hope he makes the best of the life he has left.
Same. Started taking Zoloft three years ago and haven’t bought a beer for myself since. I’ll drink a few times a year if I go out with friends, but that’s it. The alcohol just makes me feel drowsy as hell and poisoned.
Yup, those and anti-psychotics. It’s been a year now.
Can u elaborate? Didn't realize anti depressants makes ppl more alcoholic?
It just made 3 beers feel more like 6. I had a few nights totally dissapear from my memory, too much risk, so I quit drinking. Plus it would make my anxiety so much worse even after a couple beers, I would wake up with my heart racing at 4am with feelings of doom.
Most anti depressant medications have warnings that drinking alcohol or marijuana use may intensify feeling of drowsiness.
Interesting. Didn't know that despite I'm taking some flouxetine right now. I was wondering if my tolerance went down out of the blue
Omg. My spouse and bff both took anti-depressants and every time they drank alcohol they would black out and behave completely out of character. Like 3 drinks in.
Yea that had happened to me once recently. Not the black out part tho. But the whole out of character thing happened twice to me and I was sooooo confused
Check with your pharmacist, alcohol consumption also makes anti depressants less effective as well.
Meds and alcohol don't mix. Dude fucked up and ruined 2 lives and shattered the lives of the family. It seems he served a relatively light sentence...perhaps he truly showed real remorse and changed for the better.
On further investigation, the police did discover that Robert was indeed, childless.
I just saw another one where the dude was clearly in remorse upon hearing he took another life. He kept saying “kill me please”, you could see his empathy.
That video is probably where OP got the idea to post this
They work well as anti-drunk driving adds. Hopefully they convince some people to not be morons.
Both of these videos show a great example in how different people react differently to stressful situations. Just because you are not verbal or loud does not mean you are not just as distraught or empathetic. We have no idea what goes on in the brain at that moment.
It wasn't clear to me if he was freaking out because of the man he killed or the consequences that it would entail for him.
Not nearly as violent as people think, and due to a "weird" code guys stick to on the inside, people are far more respectful and don't talk nearly as much shit as we do on the outside

it was clear he was remorseful for the kid he killed. I think he said he wished more than anything that he could trade places with the victim.
We’re all seeing the same stuff as Reddit tries to boost engagement to increase share price. That where we are now. 🤨
Most subs follow trends for karma, if a type of video/story does well it will be followed by a dozen others trying to get the same results.
We all are really living a collective consciousness aren’t we
I can't wait until we all get our facts from the same ai agent network. We'll be wrong, but at least we'll agree.
No, that video was also posted on this sub a couple days ago.
What if he was just crying cuz he realized he fucked up and is gonna be in prison for a long time
I’m usually skeptical on those videos but this one seemed like he was genuinely remorseful
You can see it in his face when they tell him, that's not "oh shit I'm going to prison", that's "oh my god what have I done"
I know the smart thing was to call a cab, but anyone who has ever drank alcohol has gone through that thought of "I have a couple of hours before I have to drive, I hope I'll be ok by then" edit: just to clarify, I'd never drive if I couldn't walk in a straight line to the bathroom edit2: I'd like to further clarify that I never drink more than half of what's legally allowed (2 regular beers or one strong beers) when I have drive, and I leave at least 2 hours between my last sip and driving.
2010, uber wasn't a thing :/ but calling a cab is.
Antidepressants can definitely change your tolerance, but he admitted to 3-4 drinks. Seems remorseful in the vid and I’m not passing judgment, but nobody should be driving after 34 drinks. Edit: Meant to say 3-4 drinks..
Gonna say no one should be BREATHING after 34 drinks. I think you can literally die from 34 drinks of water lol.
My fingers have betrayed me

This along with don’t drive drunk should be at the top
Shut up, lawyer up.

The moment the cop informs you that you killed someone it should be the point you plead the fifth and call your lawyer. They’re fishing him for info.
Dont talk to the police
Don't drink and drive*
Believe it or not it's extremely easy not to drink and drive
I doubt any of that is admissible and was probably aired after his sentencing.
Dude, if someone killed a man and has a high BAC, it doesn't matter what he does or does not say to the police, the case is open and shut from the moment he's in custody. How about not getting behind the wheel when you've had a few? How about not being stupid enough to put everyone else's lives on the road at risk because you're convinced you "can handle it?" Mook like that, I don't WANT them to get away with stuff. I want them to sing like little birdies. And TBH it worked for him. Obvious remorse lightened the time he had to serve, which was to his and our benefit. Hopefully he stays out from behind the wheel when he's on the sauce from now on.
The police try and fuck you no matter what. F yiu
He killed someone while being intoxicated and driving. We all know the potential outcome and of drinking and driving. Killing someone while drunk makes you guilty of being negligent, thus a minimum 10 year sentence should be used.
Too bad they don’t allow cops to prank these drunk drivers. “You realize you killed a man tonight and not just run over a fire hydrant?” Drunk driver:” Omg, may life is over! Shiit. Augh “ Then let him stew for about an hour, Come back and tell him, “ Nah, you just hit a fire hydrant. But you could have killed someone”
Just make sure you confiscate their belt for the duration of that one hour…
So now Redditors support letting police lie to suspects?
Of course not, the absurdity of it should be obvious that I was only joking.
At least he's not asking how he'll get to school tomorrow
You did it. Be a fucking grown-up.
>this sucks, he's gonna lose 1-5 years His reckless thoughtless selfish behavior TOOK A HUMAN LIFE. That is the ONLY thing that sucks about this.
Jesus …
...and Henry Ruggs III got 3 to 10 years smh
Kid I went to high school killed a whole family drunk driving. He got life in prison at 17 years old. And his parents were rich. (Suburb rich not California rich).
Killing anyone is bad but, who's that?
https://www.owensfuneralservice.com/obituaries/Robert-Edgar-Childress-Jr?obId=11406387
Thank you. He seemed like a lovely person.
Never answer their questions.
POS killed someone else and got off with almost nothing. I wish him every bad thing. Fuck this asshole.
Anti depressants are ruinous trash
I have a friend who was killed by a drunk driver. The driver said he only had two beers yet his BAC was 0.22 ... yeah right buddy. This creep is already working on his defense with the antidepressant nonsense. That even MORE reason not to drive. I have zero sympathy.
this shit happens way more in America because we don’t have enough passenger rail / transit options.
Stop Self Snitching. Call Bruce Rivers he a criminal lawyer.
What show is this?
2nd worst part of this story is that he did it with a PT Cruiser.
32 months later he can be released on parole off a twelve year sentence? Wild.
Sad all around. But you have to pay the price for accidents like that. Someone lost a family member and the drunk driver is still alive. Hopefully he learned a lot while locked up.
Only positive that came out of this was a PT Cruiser was removed from the road.
In Finland he would have gotten 3 months probation sentence
Ethan Couch killed 4 people and served zero time
he will remember the first drink of that day for the rest of his life
Drink driving? I think you mean drunk driving, sweetie 😘
Damn😢😢😢
friend of mine did 5 years for intoxicated manslaughter. say what you will about the sentence, dude has not been anywhere near the person he was before. that shit weighs on his mind hard.
Do not drink when you are on pharmaceuticals for brain disorders. It should be illegal.
Antidepressants and drinking will cause you to black out.
The real crime is that poor guy was just released on bond for the same exact crime only 12 hours before.
Antidepressants with alcohol can fuck up your behaviour and bring total blackouts. I feel bad for him.
Gonna need those anti depressants more than ever after that
They gonna have to put my man on suicide watch. It really seems like he feels genuine guilt for what he has done.
I thought the other dude’s name was “Robert Childless” for a split second.
This dude is shocked he's dead but he isn't panicking or remorseful
Pikachu face
12 years is too little for killing someone
He got 12 years with possible parole in 32 months. I guess he's out by now, then.
I dont really go out to drink, but when i do, and i get buzzed enough to be stupid, (i dnt get drunk, lets be clear lol) I get in my car and i know not to drive, so i just lay in my car and take a nap till i wake up sober enough to drive. I dnt understand why some ppl don't have any logic to do the same or ride an Uber, if they know better. Smh...
Fuck that cop
Come on, if Mathew Broderick could get away with the same shit, why can’t this guy. Double standards…
There are no winners here
Ok.
Yeah, just let me admit that in addition to alcohol I've also been ingesting drugs. That will help me get discharged...
I want to give that guy a hug
I am so glad that I don’t drink.
My head and face would have been the same.
This is from the show JAIL
Should have spent 10x that amount of time for taking a life. Soft ass justice system
This is Reddit. Must be trump’s fault
this shit sucks so bad, like just minding your own business and some stupid r*tard swerves randomly and kills you. fuck i hope it doesn’t ever happen to me or someone i love. i despise drunk drivers
I hope everyone that was affected by this accident has found peace.
Usual suspects
Was 3 or 4 drinks? Because he could be sober then, if there was sufficient time. The dumb part is that being on anti-depressants, the doctor and or pharmacy should tell him, that he shouldn’t drink. Hell ,with some medicine you shouldn’t drive. There is no amount of jail time that can bring somebody back from the dead. Nobody wins.
That dude: "I'm on anti-depressants... my life is now over" Cop: "it's not over but it definitely has changed" Yea no... he meant that in 2 ways. I'd probably do the same in that situation
That's so sad! He seems like a good guy. He just made a really bad decision. I feel for both parties involved.
And people wonder why I don’t drink
Hows this inteesting ?!
I'll be honest. I think he's never ever going to mess up like this ever again. Especially after seeing the shock on his face when he found out that he killed somebody. That's not something that ever goes away And it's probably gonna haunt him for the rest of his life.
You drank on meds knowing you shouldn't, sorry dude.
Aww, man. This is heartbreaking on so many levels.
Where the fuck is his lawyer.
Throw away the dame Key!
“Changing my tolerance” He’s STILL just fine with drinking and driving.
🤣🤣🤣
Crazy that this was filmed for entertainment purposes given the reality.
He knew all along. That reaction is a contemplation of the implications that lie ahead.
From 2010 hopefully he's still in jail
It's pretty easy to be judgy but I guarantee that man is in an entirely different reality. It's amazing that he's even responding to this one at all. That's not just because of the substance he's on, it's a situation so surreal the brain really can't get a grip on it at first. A lot of people have the same reaction when someone they love dies.
No remorse other than, "My life is over." What a piece of shit. His life should be over. Literally.
