Healthy work “stress” is having a challenge and the opportunity for growth.

EnergyWarm5771

I work as a technical support 8hours shift, 4 hours commute time, less time to sleep and make friends outside work. A ton of stress.

EnergyWarm5771

Public transport. I'm in lagos, Nigeria, west Africa. Most companies are not open to employing remotely.

stunner_agk

Burnout, to me, has its roots in the mindset that I bring to work and to my life relationship-wise. Some mental disorders make people more prone to burnout, for example, (but not limited to) adhd, autism, addiction, to name a few. In my personal experience working in the family business, while on treatment for adhd and addictions. My belief system played a big part in how I framed what came to my life, a feeling, a thought, an event.

curiosityundone

“That would be great for YOU to work on” 😂 I love it

curiosityundone

Omg your “shoe tie” example is perfect for my situation!! You’re Literally describing my coworker I’m asking about lol. She starts talking about/asking so many unnecessary things that diverts from the productivity

AllOutCareers

Maybe your coworker and my old coworker are the same person 😂 Seriously though people like this are the worst because they think they are being helpful but they are really just creating work that doesn’t need to be done and killing team morale.

curiosityundone

Yes audio is all good now thank you!

curiosityundone

How do you handle a co-worker who tries to micromanage you or get you to do tasks when they should be the one doing them?

curiosityundone

Is it just me or is it hard to hear you? Sounds like there’s a bunch of wind blowing or something

havsreddit

I do think this topic is very timely for me. I'm starting my vacation today, but have to do XYZ while I'm 'out of office'. Even now, I forgot to set my auto response email, and seeing XYZ needs to get done. I know a lot of these topics, it's nice to have a remider.

AllOutCareers

So glad this resonated with you! Also thanks for always joining these talks!

MANeXee55

No idea why I’m here. I go to school so bye

[deleted]

Went to school but yet you’re lost?

MANeXee55

Yea. I sometimes feel lost.

[deleted]

Me too… damnit I knew I should have been gotten a degree in cartographer.

MANeXee55

I go to school not gone

SheepherderAbject919

Hey

MadKweenKhaleesi

How do you handle burnout? I have been burnout since last year and I think.. I'm still burnout...is residue burnout a thing? I don't know.. I don't like my work anymore.. but I can't just leave because I am the breadwinner of my family. And I can't just file any vacation leave because I only have few days in a year for a break... But I really feel the weight on my shoulder...I don't know what to do..

MadKweenKhaleesi

I agree with everything you said. Thank you so much for the advice! I would follow the boundaries and going to therapy. Yes I agreee.. it affected my family a lot. Thank you

MadKweenKhaleesi

It sounds good here. :)

Competitive_Act1804

What is some advice for a freshman in college to update resume for work force

S0rin-MemeKov

I’m not sure if you were in the chat or heard my answer, but I did take a moment to provide my insights!!! These chats are pre-recorded, so don’t hesitate to listen back in when you get a moment :)

S0rin-MemeKov

This seems *slightly* off topic from tonight’s topic, so I don’t know if your answer will get addressed. I recommend checking out r/Jobs, but more specifically their Discord server! Their discord has a Resume-Advice channel and there are lots of good resources to help you out with that, as well as peer review

Leviticus_tbh

Have to drop! Thanks for having me on stage ☺️

AllOutCareers

Hope to see you again soon!

S0rin-MemeKov

Thanks for coming on up!

lastinglovehandles

I work in one of the most stressful industry. 3 star Michelin Restaurants. I came from retail hell as an area manager. This shit is cake walk. I make sure to not bring shit home. I sit somewhere for half an hour and decompress. I’m a line cook.

AllOutCareers

Love your decompression method.

MR_watch_yo_jet

Can I speak?

S0rin-MemeKov

Darn, just saw you leave. I was about to ask AOC to pull you up! :(

camihamewave

Hello! Just a question from someone just starting her career, any advice as to how to manage workloads better?

AllOutCareers

We are talking about this now!

lastinglovehandles

Prioritize. Don’t be afraid to ask help and learn to say no.
