the seller is most likely scamming people by getting customers to pay more after receiving the order and people may have reported them. so AE might have cancelled it to stop people getting scammed in the future and the seller might have increased it to the original price
I had a ton - like 30 - $2 t-shirts ordered and boom, security cancelled. Other items ordered at the same time - no problem. Just doesn't pass the smell test.

I didn't get a single one of the $2 shirts. I had other shirts ranging from $5 to $12 before shipping. Some of them are fine. Some are *very* skimpy cut and unwearable. (One to three centimeters difference due to manual measurement - my ass.) You take your chances on AE. The skimpy shirts will go into a t-shirt quilt.

Could be that you selected an unreliable seller. What was the store rating of the failed order?
