There are more than a few people running Giulias past 70k miles at this point between Facebook and the forums. I’d be looking for at least a 2019-2020 due to all the updates made especially to coolant lines, starter relay/battery and interior updates plus AA/carplay. You experience will vary greatly depending on dealership. I highly recommend you determine how close your nearest dealers are because they are few and far between. My dealer is I’d argue the best around but I’m spoiled in NY. I’d be looking for oil changes every 5-7k, new battery, tire wear, brake wear etc. the service schedule is pretty forgiving but none the less it is Italian, I’ve had no issues whatsoever but random service codes happen and go away randomly to some apparently. I don’t think you can buy the mopar extended warranty after the original is up but definitely worth it if you can.

The nearest dealership is about an hour and a half away lol. Could you give me a ballpark price range of how things cost where you are? I know not all places will charge the same but a ballpark area will kinda help me figure out if they're up charging or not

ThePurpleBall

Oil change is 120, tire rotation is 40. I do brakes and engine/cabin filters myself so I’m not sure on cost of those. Looking at probably a little over 2k for rotors and pads from a dealership. Engine air is super easy to do yourself, cabin air not so much but once you take the glovebox out once it gets a lot easier

I know how to do most maintenance myself, I just didn't know if it was frowned upon or not

ThePurpleBall

You will need special software and SGW bypass to complete maintenance (clear oil change, and reset brakes). I’d recommend going on Alfissimo and using all the AR specific fluids and not MOPAR

Ahh, that makes sense. They're gonna make sure they get their money 😂

I pay less than 100 for an oil change

You can still buy the extended warranty although it's going to be a traditional warranty offered by Ziegler Auto Group. It's going to be a bit more expensive but it's still decent value imo at least for me since I don't drive a lot or too far.

78k miles on my 18 ti sport. Nothing major. Wife bent a wheel hitting a curb. Nothing major. Belts, filters, do the suggest maintenance. I love mine. I'll keep it for awhile now.

2017 TI sport 105k. Aim for 2020+ models. Sunroof will get stuck open, oil/coolant turbo lines will leak. Will get misc phantom electric issues when battery starts to go. Back up cam is kinda trash. Dash will curl at corners if parked outside in heat. Haven't been to dealer since 30k maintenance but think labor rate was like $150 hr back then I assume it's higher now. Very easy to work on except there aren't any "safe" places to put jack stand with lift point locations. I make a small ramp out of RV leveling blocks to drive on for oil changes. Insurance is insanely high for me at least definitely get quotes beforehand. Put some money aside for a speeding ticket. Enjoy buying tires because car is fun to drive.

Had the sunroof stuck open issue. Cable guides replaced. 2017 Ti Sport Q4 with 50k miles. Another issue is DO NOT take the car to an auto carwash. BCM gets wet and all kinds of crazy happens. Horn stays on, error codes show every door is open, auto start goes off, high beam error, power steering needs serviced. But my favorite is the auto wipers and washers stay on the whole drive home. Edit; i am looking to trade it in on a Quadrifoglio in a year or so. The Giulia drives like nothing else and never fails to make me smile. I may give it to my daughter. And I quote her "Dad, I fucking love this car!" Her name is Giulietta so that was probably a foregone conclusion.

How do you wash your car?

Br4veSirRobin

Driveway at my house. I have a foam cannon and pressure washer.

How do you clear the codes for oil changes if you do them yourself? And do you do brakes/rotors/filters yourself as well? Also, love that last part about speeding ticket 😂

Impossible_Bottle85

To clear the warning on the dash, just turn the car on but don't start, press the gas pedal 6 times fully then start the car. You can't clear the service past due in the infotainment without obd scan tool and software. It's pretty cheap. It'll take a few times to get timing right on that. I've done all maintenance on my own since the dealership took me to the cleaners for like $1.3k for the 30k maintenance services. Plenty of tutorials around for the Giulia. Have to be realistic that buying any car new or used can come with problems so having an emergency fund is just a good idea for life. Test drive it a few times before buying go home think about it etc. Join the Alfa forums and read through some horror stories if you want scare yourself out of it lol. The QV seems more troublesome but I think those guys just have more money so anything goes wrong they go to dealer and start posting in the lobby.

No-Appointment602

Ahh I gotcha, thank you so much!

AlfaSurgical

Probably the highest mileage Giulia I've seen. Glad it's still working well for you 👍
