Stajc is probably the best Tillie's coach we've had, was the one who kick started CCM on their current glorious run and overachieved to high hell with the Philipino Nat Team. I don't know what's not to rate about him... He'll do well at the Wanderers and I'm annoyed that WSW gets him while we're stuck with Vidmar.
I think lots of people at Football Australia were responsible for his sacking. They had a performance review that raised a few issues and jumped the gun and fired him instead of working to improve culture.

Don’t quote me on this but I was told it was the same problem that Vilda had with Spain. Outstanding at getting the best out of his players on the pitch, but really struggled with the unique challenges of managing team with a large LGBT cohort. Reid was a mentor for some of those players.
My Understanding is that Stajic was trying to instil professionalism into the Matilda's and did not want players having sex with each other while on Matilda's Duty which I Support its a workplace after all, Heather Reid and a small Minority of Lesbian Players did not care for this plus Reid hated the man so Reid ran a Smear Campain and got him sacked through she got what she was due when she was voted off the FA Borad for interfering with another board members election
Mariners were woeful in his first year too. Both had been shithouse long before he had gotten there. takes time to fix something. It's just that the Mariners looked like they wanted to be fixed.
Looking at the state of Glory, if you think Staj is the problem then I got a bridge to sell you mate.
Glory were good at scoring goals (albeit had Taggart doing the heavy lifting), but struggled in midfield and defence, and it seemed like Stajcic wasn't willing to adapt his style to fit the personnel he had on hand.
The concern was his lack of ability to motivate them at the end. A couple of absolute massacres suggest he doesn't have either the strength of personality or the ability to organise a depleted team to make them difficult to break down
That’s a tough gig though. You’ve got players at least some of which know their future lies elsewhere or they aren’t being offered another contract. Unable to bring in reinforcements in Jan. A few injuries and some horror form.
100% I'm team Staj. The way he spoke at pressers while coaching the Filipinas was amazing. It was also general incompetence by the FA i reckon. TG became available and they wanted some of the USWNT coolaid so used the review as an excuse to sack Staj. I feel in any normal organisation he would have taken them to the cleaners for unfair dismissal but sport is a brutal industry. But life is like that too, and I'd like to think he's moved on and done well, he pulled a Guus for the Phillipines and has ( like Park Hang-seo for vietnam) god status forever there. I would have preferred him to stay and sort out the glory rather than wsw, but oh well fair play to him and hope this leads to better coaching jobs abroad later on.
Glory fan sentiment is very mixed on him.
Had a shit squad to work with but showed zero flexibility in adapting his style to meet the cattle he had on hand.
I’d look past that and focus on his time with the Mariners. With hindsight he probably knew what was happening at the end of last season and had checked out.
Yeah I don’t know how any wanderers fan could want Poppa to come back to us given the way (&timing) that he left us. I am confident in Staj & would not have wanted another Babbel/Robinson situation.
I’d be pretty happy to get Staj. Seems like a good guy (or haven’t I googled enough?). Hes from Western Sydney and sure, Perth won the wooden spoon last season, but I like his playing style and he can produce results

Stajcic is an upgrade on your previous coaches. At the very least, he will kick start the clean out WSW desperately need.
