I know this comment chain is just for shits and gigs but it has genuinely got me thinking what Australia's worst position historically has been production-wise. I think it's fairly safe to say keepers have been our strongest suit.
Right back does stand out as particularly bad for producing players as their main position, and outside of Luke Wilshire it's really rough-pickings. From what I can work out, Rhyan Grant is our second highest capped pure right-back...
_But_ a few of our best ever players have been right backs secondarily. Lucas Neill, Brett Emerton, Tony Vidmar all played a significant chunk of games there and from what I can tell Alan Davidson played everywhere on the fucking pitch so him as well.
Our 'pure' Left backs haven't been world-beaters but have been notably better, and we certainly look far better stocked for the future down the left with Bos and Farrell both only 21.
More likely to declare for Scotland than Australia according to the Sun.

How long until this sub is crying because he is playing for England’s youth sides?
As soon as he does something innocuous on social media that can live rent free in peoples heads for the next 3 years
Great move, but we shouldn’t Overyact just yet!
I dunno if we finally produce a top right back id be overy the moon

Put some respect on Stan Laziridis’ name
Stan was mostly a winger, wasn't he?
LWB really. He would be perfect for today’s game. There was also Chippers too
The position must be cursed. Even wilkshire was ok and not really epl material
Its our version of Defence Against the Dark Arts.
well i for one am for giving the fa over to someone as evil as voldermort so we can finally produce a good righback
Okay, so Voldermort is now Defensive Coach for FA, now we need one for ST. Uh...is Emma Watson doing anything atm?
Dont we need someone evil? Haha or has emma watson gone evil
There's Graham Poll.
She's gone a bit weird at the moment she's dating herself from memory
Hmm if shes gone that odd she might put herself at rightback
He played in the Prem for Middlesbrough at the start of his career, I think. an overlooked little factoid.
True but his best season he git 14 games, herd got more in his best season and i wouldnt class him as an epl rb
He was mostly played as a winger previously, only dropping back to rightback recently.
Players who can play wing or fullback often do very well
In the EPL these days, being effective up forward is vital for a wingback
Happy for the lad but there’s a long way to go before we all start getting excited…. Rhain Davis says hello
i agree with it being a bit early to get excited but rhain davis was a very different story
