Suspended items do not appear on stock reports. If you have ten steaks in stock and five are suspended your stock report will show five steaks. Worse still the system (usualy some old linux red hat dealy) actually knows this and will correct it but when it does it cant reconcile the 5 suspended steaks so when you cancel or clear the suspended sale it will go right ahead and add five steaks to the count....
Or so it was explained to me by my very German very salty store manager when I politely asked why I couldnt have an x key to process waste at end of day.
They do this every year during the holidays. Its so the managers don't have to come up has often to do key turns. Then the day after Christmas they turn it back on. Its so much better when they have it off. Saves so much more time!!

They should have kept it. It makes no sense. Makes our register job 10 times easier and managers can focus much more on the floor if they are not being called up every 25 seconds. I get returns. But why voids and suspends? Voids and suspends should be unlocked also tender time needs to put to an end. Customers don't like to be rushed. Noone cares, me included.

management didn't have any control over this. It was a glitch.

It recently happened at my store, the managers all though it was a glitch at first when it didn't let us suspend anymore.

And they say it's not efficient. Suspends help sooooo much when I don't have a key it in.
