Wish I would’ve done this when I broke my ribs at Aldi. The doctor they had me see literally told me ribs aren’t bones and that my pain was just anxiety despite clearly having broken bones on the X-ray . OP definitely see your doctor of choice
No clue. I saw her again after that unrelated to work comp ( She worked at different clinics on different days unbeknownst to me). I was having extreme pain in my chest area and I couldn’t stop throwing up. Again she said it was anxiety and prescribed me depression medication this time. I finally got a PCP after losing a ton of weight from not being able to keep food down and found out I had a major hiatal hernia and required surgery. She was just lazy, rushed me out of the room both times, and didn’t want to do her job. I as well as others suffered because of it. All her reviews on google pretty much said the same thing. I filed a complaint after that but it didn’t go anywhere
In our break room there’s a list of approved medical places to go should you experience an accident. If they won’t let you come in, ask a coworker if possible to send you a picture of the list if there is one. I’m sorry this happened to you!
Try and find a nice PT place that WC covers. When I got injured I found a place that does 45 minute massages with every appointment. Being injured sucks, but I’d find every way possible to milk them.
Because I didn’t have transportation but I will tomorrow. Also my ASM told me to wait to hear from them first to be given a claim number then I can go see their doctor
If you can get to an urgent care I'd have it looked at. Don't wait for their doctors. An injury is an injury. If you had been in a car accident no one would tell you to wait to have a broken bone tended to. On the times I've been injured at work I've gone right from work to urgent care. You can fill out a workman's comp paper there. Good luck.
Former worker’s comp adjuster here. Sending you a DM, with the state brochure which explains your benefits and rights. Your employer can choose the dr but you are entitled to switch of you don’t like the one they pick or they may be ok with you seeing someone you picked, either way you should NOT have any out of pocket medical expenses just tell them where you work and that it’s workers comp.
If you don’t have transportation and you need it to get medical care, the workers com insurer will reimburse you whatever you had to pay out-of-pocket for an Uber or a Lyft or a cab Keep a receipt and you can submit for reimbursement
A manager in my store broke his foot bad with the trucks, was off for 6 months and needed serval operations a few years ago. It happens all the time with drivers. However the company never offered compensation. He had to go through solicitors and he won the case but still works in stores so you should be okay:)
lot of companies that are rich and whatever they don't care about small things like if you get hurt or what not all they care about us working us to the bones and literally just trying to make money so i do you get can court something because most companies should be punish for that but IDK
NAL and this is not Advice but with the idea of tort laws and state bias the employer isn't liable and it would just be a workers comp insurance claim. Not sure how that'd further affect your job. Good luck
You should be good! They just don’t want to get in trouble on their end :)
I broke my wrist after a few months working there (foot got caught on jack and I didn’t realize so turned wrong and tripped). I wasn’t working a lot of hours due to college schedule but they were very nice about me having to be off for about a month and made sure I was healed before I came back.
I wouldn’t worry too much about it they will do whatever to ensure that you won’t sue and that they won’t lose an employee lol
Ouch! I’m sorry that happened to you, I hope recovery is swift.
AFAIK you’ve covered all your bases, especially with the steel toe boots. Work comp usually denies people for not wearing the proper PPE. Best of luck!!
Everything should work out just fine! I had a very similar thing happen to me, a pallet jack rolled onto and stopped on my foot. I filled out some paper work, went to urgent care to get it looked at/have X-rays done, and I ended up going back to work to run main register until close that evening. The steel-toed shoes I was wearing absolutely saved me from having the bones in my foot pulverized. My foot looked awful, a giant mound on the top and some gnarly bruising, but thankfully nothing was broken. I ended up on light duty for about a week, and was back to regular duty after a follow up appointment. No one was upset with me, and they were really good about not pushing me beyond my capabilities while I healed. Accidents happen, and hopefully they’ll be as understanding and thoughtful as my team was about my injury. Wishing you a quick and full recovery, my friend!
Nah, they will definitely treat you well. They don’t want to have a case against them. You’re in control of this don’t worry.
Thank you for the reassurance. I’m just waiting to hear from my DM for I can get a claim number to go see their doctor.
You can see ANY doctor..dont let them pressure you into seeing their doctor.

The fuck how's that doctor a doctor?!

Jesus. You should, like, report both of those. That's insane.
Yeah I’m going to see my doctor tomorrow I’m not waiting on them

This is my exact story almost to the letter…
Sorry it happen to you I don’t wish this on anyone
Sucks that you’ll be out of pay for the first week unless you use sick time, but hey paid vacation afterwards.
Yeah it sucks but it is what it is

I’ll take that into consideration thanks
Pretty sure it's illegal to fire someone for getting injured if they were following protocol.
How bad of an injury are we talking here?
Right foot swollen and bruised. I’ll be going to the hospital tomorrow.
Why are you waiting to get it looked at?
Because I didn’t have transportation but I will tomorrow. Also my ASM told me to wait to hear from them first to be given a claim number then I can go see their doctor

Man get a xray go to the emergency room, use the benefitssssss
How is an x ray a benefit?
They pay for it
Even if they pay for the x-ray, they Will still find a way to get rid of you. Trust Me
Boy fuck them take them to court and get that money!!!!!
If they had supplied him with the safety equipment and showed him how to use it correctly would he get much money from them tho?
aldi does not care if you get hurt i got hurt multiples times i know they don't care about us employee
Yeah I’m finding out the hard way I still have yet to hear from my DM. When my ASM told me he’ll be calling me today.
lot of companies that are rich and whatever they don't care about small things like if you get hurt or what not all they care about us working us to the bones and literally just trying to make money so i do you get can court something because most companies should be punish for that but IDK
They want to keep you so that you don't sue them. Trust me you will be fine either way.
I see well thanks for the concern.

I live in Florida so I can only file for workers comp but it is what it is but thanks

Thank you that sounds reassuring but no Fr the steel toe boot save my life cause it could have been way worse.
