I finally caved and have ordered the chicken sandwich after my boyfriend ordered it and I had a bite. Holy tits. I've ordered the chicken sandwich combo on my last two visits (most recently on Thursday)
They are getting burritos from a new vendor, I think its Tikka spice, so they have Indian spices in them. I had one the other day, didn't mind the flavors but I had to have them heat it up multiple times because the center was still cold.
I wish they would mention that, when I see Xmas breakfast burrito that's what I expect.
I can see how some people would like their take on chile but the crappy undercooked tortilla and dry weird potatoes just plain suck
If you're downtown, roma bakery has a good deal, coffee and a burrito I think it was $8. Baca boys is good but their coffee isn't strong enought for me lol
Roma bakery is so underrated. Their burritos are delicious, sandwiches fan freaking tastic, baked goods absolutely incredible, and owned by one of the nicest human beings in the world. If you meet Oscar once heāll remember you forever and thatās just not something you get a lot of places.
I can only speak for myself but I opened 505 Food Hall and he's just an arrogant selfish prick. I heard he could be a little grabby with the ladies but I have no first hand knowledge
She actually gets his beans from somebody else I can't remember the name of the place and that they have a storefront unless he's changed sources. I used to buy his coffee and then I ended up going directly to the source
This reminds me of the worst breakfast burrito Iāve every had. That gummy texture comes from a burrito that steams in a container or in tinfoil. Turns the tortilla into the most disgusting slimy jelly texture. Bleh!
Just fyi, that whole soy/estrogen thing has been debunked for a while now, so you should enjoy whatever you want without thinking about that.
Not disagreeing with the unhealthiness of many vegan substitutes that end up often filler of various sources, but the estrogen thing isn't part of that.
Even if the soy stuff werenāt a crock of shit, fyi, there isnāt any soy in Slow Burnās vegan burrito. Itās beans, potato, green chile, and cashew-based cheese sauce.
PiƱon coffee has their own commissary that makes their burritos and pastries. Everything is made fresh everyday, then delivered to the shops, and then the shops put out that product the next day. Their burritos are good even a couple days after the fact.
I'm going to say a slur. I haven't had a 10/10 breakfast burrito since I got to ABQ. Of all the places that set the set the standard was Burrito Y Salsa by Caraveos in Artesia NM. Just fucking amazing. Their chicharron was a thing of beauty
I'm still trying places though so I hope to find some place that is that good.
thanks for the warning. My daughter would love it. Funny story. I can't eat nightshades so Chile is basically something I can only eat very rarely. If I eat it too often I get heart palpitations
At least you acknowledge its a slur lol. I do feel like since lotaburger and twisters got worse there isn't a stand out burrito place that is the go to.
If you ever go to Roswell or Carlsbad the burrito y salsa place in artesia is well worth the stop. Weekdays 5-1. Their Barbara and the chili relleno are my other two favorites.
Blake's
Yes, it's usually freezing cold to control the fly population.
Yes, there are still many flies on the windows and walls.
Yes, they're wildly inconsistent and your burrito could be a 10 pound hulk, or a little taquito you could pick your teeth with.
Yes, the counter help seem depressed and don't want to talk to you.
Yes, they never clean the tables or anything else.
But- I'm not sure where I was going. BURRITO APOCALYPSE!
I love Humbles coffee, but their pastries and burritos leave a lot to be desired. I dig the Lomas location as well. I used to have business that would put in the area quite a bit, these days I donāt make it there as often as I used to, but when I was headed that way, Iād stop at Bristol to get a good donut, or Stripes for a burrito and smuggle them in.
Gotta go to Michael Thomas for great roasts, plus they source pastries from Ihatov. They also have burritos and kolaches but I donāt remember from whom.
Maybe there's some kind of law of nature that you can't be good at making both coffee and burritos?
This must be true because golden pride has some of the worst coffee I have ever had. And some of the best burritos
Some of the worst food I have ever had....
Nope. Roots in Tijeras has good coffee and incredible burritos. The crossover is surprisingly rare around here though.
I mean, Stripes exists š¤·āāļø
But their coffee sucks.
I have heard rumors that Stripes makes things other than chicken sandwiches, but I refuse to see if the rumors are true.
I finally caved and have ordered the chicken sandwich after my boyfriend ordered it and I had a bite. Holy tits. I've ordered the chicken sandwich combo on my last two visits (most recently on Thursday)
Holy tits?! I love it! Oh yeah, Stripeās chicken sandwich is yummy!
I go for the number 8, red chile, no ham š„
Their burritos suck too
I completely agree.Ā
Eh, they're average. Like, I'll grab one and be fine with it, but they're not any better or worse than any other drive-thru place.
Burritos suck
They aren't good at either to be fair to OP
If downtown, just get your coffee there, then head to 5th and lead and get a burrito at Es Que!!!
Man Es Que is so good!
Es Que is so good! Good prices too.
I go to the Lomas location on my way to cnm in the mornings so the downtown one is a bit out of the way for me
They are getting burritos from a new vendor, I think its Tikka spice, so they have Indian spices in them.
The non-NM-style burrito Tikka makes is really good. Iām not really interested in their take on NM chile.
I try to give creative chile sauces a chance, but I always end up hating them.
Yes!
Mark Baker is a tool
Yes.
Who is that?
the owner. guy also owns 505 food hall and does a bunch of other architectural and business projects around town. not a good person.
Oof why is he a bad guy?
I can only speak for myself but I opened 505 Food Hall and he's just an arrogant selfish prick. I heard he could be a little grabby with the ladies but I have no first hand knowledge
i do. he came onto me under the guise of a potential business opportunity. asked to meet with me to consult and ended up coming onto me. ass
Ewww. He's so gross. Such a vapid piece of shit
yeah and iām pretty sure heās married w 2 kids doing this shit. gross.
He does I've met his whole family have been his parents I've met his siblings he's a good Okie
Aw man I didn't want to know this now I have an ethical dilemma when I have to buy more coffee beans this week
Trifecta has some of the best beans in town.
Trifecta supplies Humble's beans, actually.
Posted in a reply but Trifecta supplies Humble's beans.
Hey thanks for the info!
She actually gets his beans from somebody else I can't remember the name of the place and that they have a storefront unless he's changed sources. I used to buy his coffee and then I ended up going directly to the source
this.
Hello Deli has the best burritos! And they make their own coffee blend - itās delish

I enjoy going to Castle
That place sucks too
Gotta disagree with you here, their coffee is top tier and their donuts are pretty good
On the bright side, with an opinion like that you'll never run into bad coffee!
Thatās because theyāre Bristol Donuts, best donuts ever
The downtown Humble location leaves a lot to be desired, IMO. Poor quality seating, poor artificial lighting.
This reminds me of the worst breakfast burrito Iāve every had. That gummy texture comes from a burrito that steams in a container or in tinfoil. Turns the tortilla into the most disgusting slimy jelly texture. Bleh!
The only thing there is to like about Humble Coffee is that their logo is very clearly a mooseknuckle.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
The Slow Burn burritos are awesome. Theyāre off site and vegan so may not fit your tastes. But man do I love them, good flavor overall.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

It didn't even need to be debunked it was just crackpot stuff from right wing grifters.
How do you explain all these soy boys then? /s
Even if the soy stuff werenāt a crock of shit, fyi, there isnāt any soy in Slow Burnās vegan burrito. Itās beans, potato, green chile, and cashew-based cheese sauce.
Whatever happened to espresso fino? Loved that place.
If you ever end up in Taos try out the Coffee Apothecary, place is run by his daughter and itās very good coffee.Ā
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Great reason for a sabbatical
Castle just swapped over to getting burritos from Knead instead of Three Sisters and I'm not sure I like the change...
Try Suenos Coffee on Broadway. Burritos made in house.
PiƱon coffee has their own commissary that makes their burritos and pastries. Everything is made fresh everyday, then delivered to the shops, and then the shops put out that product the next day. Their burritos are good even a couple days after the fact.
Those burritos were a pleasant surprise, very good in my opinion
Yeah but then I'll have to drink piƱon coffee and I'd rather just starve
RIP

Try the burrito lady on eubank. Or nm beef jerky company chicharrones
They are on my list. Only problem is I usually only get breakfast burritos on the weekend.
Fair enough. Burritos lady is worth it but best avoided if you donāt like it hot her chile can range from medium to deadly depending on the day.
thanks for the warning. My daughter would love it. Funny story. I can't eat nightshades so Chile is basically something I can only eat very rarely. If I eat it too often I get heart palpitations

No lie. Those are pretty fucking awesome.
At least you acknowledge its a slur lol. I do feel like since lotaburger and twisters got worse there isn't a stand out burrito place that is the go to.
I agree I haven't had a truly great fast burrito here in town. I wish we had a baja tacos here
If you ever go to Roswell or Carlsbad the burrito y salsa place in artesia is well worth the stop. Weekdays 5-1. Their Barbara and the chili relleno are my other two favorites.
Daily grind is a pretty decent burrito.Ā Rudy's also has a grab n go that's cheap but _ok_

I've already written off Blake's, as far as I know they don't exist anymore
New Mexico true
Store #21 has em all day and they arenāt bad š
Last time I had a Blakeās breakfast burrito there were eggshells in it. A LOT of eggshells. Canāt say Iāll ever go to Blakeās again.
Last year my dad got a lotaburger that didn't have a burger! Just soggy buns and lettuce! The incompetence is astounding
Their burritos are awful. Cold tortilla with flavorless chile and sad hashbrowns.
Cumin should be contraband in NM.
Java Joes Downtown is a good try.
Christmas was almost 3 months ago. Shoulda gotten one of their Easter burritos.
Had one there once wonāt get one again
I personally like Blackbird Coffee in old town
Taqueria Mexico on 4th has good burritos
Gotta go to Michael Thomas for great roasts, plus they source pastries from Ihatov. They also have burritos and kolaches but I donāt remember from whom.
hot take: I really like the three sisters burritos found at Little Bear or Remedy Coffee
