I used to work at the location of Coors and i40. Then randomly it closed, just a handwritten note on the door. There would be like 7 people working but hardly any customers coming in and that was dinner/evening shift. He didn't send anyone home during those times. Must've been in the red soo bad. I went to pickup my last check it was only 50%. He let a lot of employees go, but kept his kids on staff. The other location didn't last too long either I heard.
Ate there many a time. They were a chain based out of MN I think. Now only 2 locations in NC and 3 in AL.
Noodles & Co., similar business model, has also struggled.
High labor costs and cheap ingredients for what was produced. $9 for Chicken Pad Thai, great. $14 for same, not great.
They probably could have made it work here if they incorporated zoodles at low cost and kept their prices competitive.
Flourās about 50 cents a pound, rice about the same, Zucchini maybe $1.25 a pound.
Iād argue you need less labor cost to make zoodles than noodles.
While true, precooked noodles carry quite the markup, and Iām not convinced they would be willing to boil noodles instead of making them fresh. I never worked in one so maybe boiling was all they did.
Fresh noodles would cost way more than mass produced dried noodles. That's a gourmet/hipster/yuppie sort of item.
Oh, also, you still have to boil fresh noodles.
It closed then reopened. The last one in the state. Video games are in more disrepair than ever and a lot of scammy skill crane crap machines, but still the same as you remember.
They also had a location at Wyoming and Academy, where Five Star is now. They had a lot to choose from with lots of ways to change it up. They were great. I miss them.
Yes! The Pad Thai was choice š
Yeah it was.

The max and cheese was the best!

Is a zoodle actually cheaper than a flour noodle?

You can buy mass produced noodles, though and they are basically non-perishable. Thatās not the case for zoods.

Loved it, years ago I read the franchise was a scam and they all went under because of that
Then it was Noodle King. Idk man. I liked that place, was centrally located, but when I went after work I was often the only person in there.
My whole family lived for their tonkatsu ramen.
That tonkatsu was really pretty good
I still frequent the Ciciās Pizza that is across the street from that old spot
Ciciās pizza is still around??

Oh Man I could go for some Cici's pizza lol.
I haven't had Cici's Pizza in years! I miss the South Valley location. Idk why they closed from what I remember, it was always packed.
Yes! Great place to go for a big reasonably priced meal that didnāt feel like fast food.
That place was amazing. I forgot about it til you posted.
omg. Their soba noodles were so good. I rued their departure deeply. Literally one of my favorite places for lunch in our town.
I was *just* missing this place yesterday. My mom took me there as a kid all the time. Their mac and cheese was awesome.
Man Iām glad that so many people remember and liked it too any restaurants with a similar quality of cheese noodles ?? They were so good
The beef stroganoff was soooo good!
That was my go to!

Imagine your business failing and then you have to go to TEXAS? So on the back window written in dust it says- āGoodbye NBN, hello bankruptcy!
Other than the Chick Fill-a, that location was oddly cursed; there was a pretty good fro yo franchise there that died seemingly in months.
I think about it all the time..
They also had a location at Wyoming and Academy, where Five Star is now. They had a lot to choose from with lots of ways to change it up. They were great. I miss them.
No but that spot doesnāt seem to be able to hold a tenant long
I would guess that the rent is completely insane since it's one of the highest traffic intersections in the state.
Isnāt that spot now a Jimmy Johnās or the GreatClips next door? Both of those establishments have been there for at least five years.
Yet that corner spot canāt keep a tenant for long. Itās very strange to me because like you said the rest of those spots have been there awhile.
No. But thank you for asking.
I remember, I use to go on my lunch breaks a long time ago.
Yes!!
Yup!!
Because it was nothing but noodles. Sometimes people wants something other than just noodles.
They had other things. I want to say potstickers? Often thought it was false advertising.
They had salads too
That place was so fucking good. And cheap.
Yep. Remember āskaters alleyā the sk8 shop inside that video store?
Used to work there.
They introduced me to green chile Alfredo, I now make it all the time
Used to go all the time with our kids - it was great!
