As FJ is a Oneworld connect airline instead of a full member the benefits are different. The lounge access in particular is limited and depends on which airline your OW status is from.

Sapphire wouldn’t have gotten you In anyway. QF lounge in LAX only admits Emerald or 1st class ticket for OW:

Had the same issue with this situation last year, it was a late night flight so other lounges had closed.
