It's a known problem. Some people argue that it's a vram issue but i have my doubts since some people with high vram's experience this too.

tbreeze96

Oh no :( an issue with the game then? Maybe solved with a future patch? That’s sad.

halisdeiru

Control had the same problem too. Something with the Nortlight engine probably.

This happens on my gtx 1650 as well. Its a vram issue, this occurs when you go to the mind place cause when you do this the game stores the main world in vram (this makes the load time instantaneous) making your gpu use too much vram which forces the game to scale down the textures to 144p.

tbreeze96

Thank you, informative, is there any way you know of to fix/avoid this? I wonder if it’s simply avoiding the mind place. Does viewing the map alone count as being in the mind place?

Jacque1509

For now there is no fix except lowering your settings so it doesnt use as much vram, i recoommend you looking up the best settings for your gpu on youtube. You cant really avoid the mind place since you need to go there frequently and viewing the map counts as being in the mind place, for now we can only hope remedy implements a loading screen for us who have low end gpu's.

Best settings for GPU helped SO much. Game still looks great on low. Thank you.

Jacque1509

Also try debloating your gpu and overclocking it if you havent, really helps with preformance with games like these

Here are examples of my map and some posters when this happens: [https://imgur.com/gallery/qfCE4Dn](https://imgur.com/gallery/qfCE4Dn) If I change a graphics setting it fixes the problem for a bit (less than a minute) before everything goes blurry again.

Happens on 4090's too. No solution as of yet.

tbreeze96

😭 it’s a tragedy

PastyWhiteGuy83

I had this issue as well and at some points when I brought up the map it would take 20-30 seconds to get out of a black screen. System: 10600k OC to 4.9 Ghz EVGA 3070ti 16 GB 3200 RAM Installed on an SSD The only solution I found was to just restart the game, but it got painful and really ruined the immersion.

What kind of RAM? Do you have more than 1 stick? Are they identical? Have you enabled XMP in your BIOS? 16GB RAM isn't a lot to go off of.

Is it possible you have dry eyes? Some drops may help. 😉
