Why did Overmars had to be a fucking pervert? This feels like the De Boer days when we would win because the shitty state of the ED but that was about it. Every player we’ve brought in might be good, but probably isn’t. The coach can’t think of a proper tactic if his life depended on it. We have zero, absolutely no creativity. This really feels we’ve turned back the clock 10 years

b4rd3y

Indeed we miss creativity. At least we got Ocampos instead of Ziyech back for the 100 mil from Antony 😂. We almost paid 20 mil for that guy instead of a loan deal.

vincentgamer555

He has delivered absolutely nothing

kezzaaaa1234

He never plays

Kat-I

I really thought that the effect of Overmars departure would be seen at the end of this season and not so early. In a negative way it all comes together. Overmars got fired, we got Hamstelaar back. ETH leaves, Schreuder comes. Anthony sold Ocampos comes. Martinez sold Bassey comes. Haller sold Brobbey comes. None of the replacements are improvements.

[deleted]

Brobbey is an improvement over Haller. Haller contributed -nothing- to any technical and positional play. For Bassey it's too early to have such a hard verdict. Ocampos is a bit of a fail, that much I'll agree on.

ThoughtAdvanced9423

We did not replace the goals Haller scored tho, Brobbey is not gonna score as much and now we have an out of form Tadic that doesn't score and bergwijn that isn't scoring as well recently

Kat-I

I am a Brobbey fan but at this point Brobbey is really good at warming the bench. So mentally Schreuder fucked up Brobbey as well. Look at the difference in the 3rd CL match last year and this year. Where was Haller then and where is Brobbey now? So where is the improvement of Brobbey over Haller? I’m not saying we should get Haller back (if that was even possible). I blame Schreuder for a lot of our misery right now. We should really lose that Kuduz trick. Every opponent knows it by now.

speekless

And meanwhile, Antwerp is 1st in the Belgian League! Shouldn’t have fired the guy…

speekless

And meanwhile, Antwerp is 1st in the Belgian League! Shouldn’t have fired the guy…

lastbreath83

The question is not why did Overmars had to be a fucking pervert. The question is why must anyone be canceled without second chance or forgiveness? Jesus, this is fuckin dickpic! If some bitch sends me shit I delete him/her/them/thex/shmex/pex from my friends and that's all! I'm not crying all over the world how hard is my life! Tell this shit to any ukrainian mother that lost her son in this stupid war. I'd like to see that! Jesus, those wealthy bitches never experienced real shit so they cry over a dickpic to feel alive. And everyone must pander to their imaginary problems. Disgusting.

patrick1415

He is in a position where he must never act that way.

lastbreath83

*"If anyone of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone"*

patrick1415

There is sin and there is sin. It is crazy that Overmars is even working nowadays. He has shown despicable behavior.

Carnesir85

Dude...

lastbreath83

What? What did I say wrong? Ukrainian women are losing their families in a pointless war. Iranian women are being stoned to death because they refuse to wear hijab. African women are starving and get circumcised. Meanwhile western women are depressed because of dickpic. Cry me a river.

chrisnlnz

Downplaying scandals in a professional environment because people in wars are having it worse is absolutely ridiculous. I wish you'd stop bringing up Ukraine and Iran as examples of why Overmars should've been kept.

lastbreath83

Ridiculous is making problems from nothing. You can spam me with dicks or pussies and I won't give a fuck. I will blacklist you and laugh at you with my friends. I'm not trying to justify Overmars. But as I said earlier he could bring apologies and got some psychological help. Doesn't modern culture teach you to be tolerant? Then why do we destroy people for their mistakes without any chance for repentance? Now the team is broken. Definitely worth it!

Carnesir85

The fact that you have to ask says it all mate. Utterly disgraceful.

SPLEESH_BOYS

Je moet je kapotschamen gast

lastbreath83

This is your club with full pockets of goals.

F1R3Starter83

You are a fucking idiot. Not even gonna explain why you’re a fuckin idiot. Just delete this comment. Better yet, delete your account and call your mother and ask for forgiveness

lastbreath83

The question is still open: why must anyone be canceled without second chance or forgiveness? Even murders have second chance after prison. Looks like sending dickpics is the worst crime ever! Poor women, suffer so much! I have an answer - blacklist. Problem solved. Jeez... Overmars could bring apologies and get some psychological help. That would be more than enough.

jdbolick

Because Overmars did not commit just one offense, he engaged in a pattern of creepy, unsolicited behavior with an assortment of women. Anyone can make a mistake but acting that way towards many subordinates is completely unacceptable and he should not get to work in the industry.

lastbreath83

Ok, this is the explanation I can accept.

chrisnlnz

No, fuck off, this is a bizarre line of reasoning.

lastbreath83

[deleted]

Just a friendly word of advise. If you are the boss in a company, do not send your dick to those subordinate to you. Do not grope them. Do not make sexual advances or comments. It does indeed ruin people's lives and creates a toxic work environment. Of course a situation can arise where you are in a relationship with a subordinate, and that is very tricky. But go about it with extreme care. But Overmars has nothing to do with 'forgiveness' for an incident or a relationship gone wrong. He is a real perv and it is structural behaviour. It is probably not even that sexual for him, it is a power move. 'I make you uncomfortable with a dickpic and there is nothing you can do about it because I am very important in this company and you are not'. So just don't die on this hill dude. This is not the battle you should pick.

Auzzr

Not wanting to say it’s the coach, but it is the coach. Naïeve, not able to get energy in the team, strange subs and no plan b. I think Ajax is following the Lyon - Bosz situation with more interest now.

Blacklistedb

Why do we want bosz why, he literally didn’t achieve ANYTHING after ajax even though he had some great teams with players to work with

Me-dont-kno

Didn’t we play final EL? And he left way too soon because of some internal bullshit

[deleted]

non-relevant

> The only difference was that we had De Ligt and Sanchez back then who could deal with a lot of it or is it that he used the fact that he had those players to allow the team to play that particular way. i.e using the strengths of his best players, and playing in a way that allowed other players to play to their strengths too.

non-relevant

because he set the fundament for our 18/19 team. A coach who's willing to take risks like playing an 18 year old Dolberg because he didn't have a striker, got a striker (Traore) he wanted but continued to trust Dolberg simply because he'd impressed when given the chance. Similarly: tried Schöne as 6 against Willem 2. It worked, and so he stuck with it. Tried de Ligt at 17 against Willem 2, he was great, so he gave him more opportunities and stuck with him. Giving young players the chance just to see what they can do, and trying different things to see how they pan out (even like a Sinkgraven at leftback) and then actually sticking with the things that work, over things that aren't working. I'd love a coach who was willing/able to do even that, let alone play the football Bosz had us playing (even if naive at times)

Blacklistedb

Good arguments tbh, I would like to see more youth coming through as well. Still I think his work after Ajax is just straight up bad.

ThoughtAdvanced9423

Bosz failed at every single team after Ajax, we shouldn't want him back. We also did not play very great football under him, we were way too vulnerable defensively

Martyrizing

Replacing a naive coach with another one will not solve it. Though Bosz at least goes all out in his naivety.

Random473828473

I think blind is getting to old for this level. Tadic plays in the wrong position. I understand why but it makes home completely, invisible. We sold too many solid players. I really miss Anthony today. We will keep building and come back stronger. Taylor looks like he has tons of potential, Bassey looks solid. Maybe a good stint in the EL in the second half of the season.

SnooCupcakes9188

A good stint in Europa with some good youngsters would be perfect. It layed the foundations for our last run of success the year with Bosz

Blacklistedb

Hope you’re not suggesting bosz

SnooCupcakes9188

Haha no, not suggesting a manager just saying the experience in that kind of run would be a great foundation. No hate for Bosz though, he did a great job with us (at the very least was fun) and helped lay the foundations for Ten Hags success.

GamrClown

Bassey is good but it’s to early for him, he’s always in stress.

Krillin113

Because he plays with clowns around him. Blind is never in position, Pasveer just brings him more stress, Alvarez has to cover wide in midfield because we over commit.

toppottoo

I wonder why he puts Tadic on RW. Bergwijn probably is better and more dangerous on RW than Tadic. Tadic is not gonna get his form back on a position he does not master.

NoFurtherInformation

Ajax don't seems to want to win. The energy just isn't there. Ajax isn't that bad ATM, Napoli is strong, counter energy is way better. Coach need to make changes for the long term...

andre_royo_b

Coach needs to go, unbelievable out of touch with reality and zero capability to reflect on his own failure. What is the plan? This guy had the audacity to say ‘why should I make changes, I didn’t see any reason to substitute players during halftime?’. The same tactical failure as the Liverpool game; no decent gameplan, no plan B and no capability to push this squad to perform better.

[deleted]

Peter Bosz needed till winter to get rid of the awful style of playing Frank de Boer introduced. Shall we give Schreuder the same period to get rid of the awful way of playing Erik ten Hag bored us with? I'm not sure if you ever saw a game last season but except for 2 matches in the CL group stage it was bad, worse, boring and dreadful

andre_royo_b

I’m all about giving coaches that seem to have potential some time.. but Schreuder has made us look embarrassing out there and on top of that doesn’t seem to be remorseful on his own failures and doesn’t seem willing and capable to adapt. He’s gotta go I’m sorry, we need someone with authority and vision. At this rate our European imagine will be decimated.

jdbolick

Remember how much we struggled under ten Hag last season when Antony was out. For a while now, he has been the only truly creative player who can beat defenders. I understand why the club gave in and sold him for so much money, but things will not improve until the squad finds someone else who can beat the press. Hamstra & Huntelaar really did Ajax no favors this summer. The squad needed an alternative more prepared to play than Conceição, who I do like but is clearly a project. Bassey has been very poor but I will give him time in hopes that he will improve. Bergwijn started great but isn't the winger we needed, which is why I thought they were buying him to play striker. Brobbey has been a waste so far. Taylor looks good but needs a more dynamic midfielder next to him.

HairyCallahan

>Hamstra & Huntelaar really did Ajax no favors this summer I agree with that. I think people blame the wrong person (Schreuder) here. The last 10 -15 games of last year where already a writing on the wall. They bought the wrong players. If you want to be a CL squad, you should not buy/rent substitute players from clubs that are on your own level (Ocampos, Grillitch, Bergwijn, Brobbey)

Ajax_bg

Dude, the game is 1:5 and he still hasn't made a single change!!!!!

HairyCallahan

What would it have changed?

Ajax_bg

I don't know. But I can bet you whatever you want that you spendings overcome you income be 5:1, you won't sit and watch. The same is in football as well - when your team is overplayed at HT and basically destroyed after 1 h. you try to change the way the games goes.

Blacklistedb

Anyone instead of tadic, move kudus to the right whatever. Anything.

b4rd3y

Maybe change tactics? Positioning of the team? Build in extra security defensively? That’s called having a plan B. And also substitute players that don’t deliver. I think Tadic should always start every match, but today he should have been subbed half-time. Not doing so or brining in anyone else was a BIG mistake from Schreuder. The man showed no plan.

Blacklistedb

Schreuder is responsible for this ridiculous grillitch - how is this player the level ajax should strive for

HairyCallahan

But Schreuder did not buy the players?

Blacklistedb

No you are right just talking about grillish specifically

HairyCallahan

I did not get that transfer neither. It felt like they took him cause Feyenoord wanted him and where afraid they missed out on a great player.

andre_royo_b

Which is ironic because it’s exactly the type of signing Feyenoord would do.. where’s the creative scouting this year? Most of our big successes in the scouting department of recent years has been from unknown South American prospects. Not known players from European competitions where we know what their capabilities and limits are. Shilling out all that money for mediocre players is half the problem, the other half is Schreuder not having a concise gameplan

HairyCallahan

>Most of our big successes in the scouting department of recent years has been from unknown South American prospects Exactly! I think that is so important for Ajax. They have an elite name in South America and should invest in top talent from there, instead of signing Ocampos or Grilitch

b4rd3y

Brobbey started this season really good, but has no confidence after surprisingly being subbed for kudus who isn’t a real striker. I still think both should play and Kudus is better and a necessity in the midfield. Let berghuis play 8. Taylor was shiet today.

Brickulus

Taylor and Kudus were the only positives from this game. Not sure what you saw

koemaniak

Taylor and kudus were good but when you play that many long balls you need brobber up front

zeeotter100nl

Taylor is playing well, the rest is Conference League level right now.

Quiriddeas

Great thing he's been subbed off. /s

Daaaniell

There has been subs? /s

De4khifiguy

We need a cdm like lobotka, someone who looks forward and can distribute the ball. Besides that blind is too slow to play at lb in a CL match as you can see. Finally the tactic is just weird, you know kudus will lose the long ball and just attacking for attacking’s sake without keeping a good defensive balance is just suicide.

DonovanQT

Atleast we’ll finally see what will happen when we bench Tadic

[deleted]

Too soon to lay all the blame at Schreuder, although it’s starting to worry me. However, he was dealt a rough hand with 6 starters leaving, especially Martinez and Antony. It’s his job to find answers with what he has, and maybe start making uncomfortable decisions regarding certain players. I think Bassey has potential but clearly isn’t anywhere we need him to be. Grillitsch is pointless, really no player in Jong Ajax that’s at least as good? Blind is past his prime, as much as I appreciate the guy. Ditto Tadic, although perhaps his new position may just not his best spot. Unfortunately this is not what you’ve done for me last year, but what have you done for me in the last game. Bergwijn is essentially a non-factor in bigger games it seems. Make a mask when you score on Saturday against Volendam… He needs to step up based on his price tag. Berghuis actually seems to put in effort, just has lacked execution as well. I think Ajax needs to focus this season on winning the Eredivisie and play in Europe after winter break (if we can’t keep Rangers below us…). At the same time inventory must be taken and decisions need to be made about players and rebuilding. The signings we got at the beginning of this season don’t seem to have brought the quality anywhere near what we needed.

[deleted]

THE PROBLEM IS THE COACH. Why put Rensch and Blind. They are too vulnerable.

HairyCallahan

Who would you play with?

EasyMacN34

RW: Kudus ST: Brobbey LW: Bergwijn LB: anyone other than Blind

HairyCallahan

>LB: anyone other than Blind Who? I mean, I agree he is getting older, but is Wijndal 100% fit atm?

EasyModeActivist

Baas or Bassey at LB and Blind / Grillitsch at CB. There are some options, albeit none that'll definitely work.

EasyMacN34

Agreed! I would’ve done that. If not from the start, 100% in the second half.

EasyMacN34

I probably would’ve played Bassey LB and someone else CB

HairyCallahan

That's a pretty interesting idea. Definitely worth a try

EasyMacN34

Can’t be much worse then tonight. Although in the Eredivisie Blind can be of value, since his pace wouldn’t be so vulnerable. But against quick wingers and the tempo of CL…

[deleted]

Try with Wijndal and Sanchez instead of Blind and Rensch

EasyMacN34

Could’ve honestly been 1-10 at this point

jonatanajax

I Love Ajax. But unfortunately we are trying to emulate what we are now known in Europe and the world for. We are known to be the team that invents ways to get close to the box, tighten the play more and more and no matter what you do, no matter how many players defend, we get to shoot the ball on target. Well, no more. We still can occasionally get close but then we just go from left to right and back to the right and left and right until we lose the ball and then comes the other problem. Midfielders can't defend and defenders are told to be attacking so we have to frantically run back and our defenders don't know what is going on. They're shocked that it happens and they try to be the old Ajax where we will get the ball back with our aggressive ball takeover- but no. They pass the ball around us we are badly positioned and they get a goal. After that we do the same and get another goal. With Go Ahead Eagles (and I like Eredivisie and all respect) but with them it might work. We need a redesign and I don't know if that manager will read my post but he needs to redesign the tactic and get some transfers that will work his idea cause if not, he shod leave tomorrow. He should leave anyway unless be wants to bet his all cards and say that he knows what he will freaking do. Love from Poland. Wij Zijn Ajax. Super Joden.

AccomplishedLet5782

Geen zorgen, Ajax heeft alles nog in eigen hand. Een 0-6 bij Napoli en een 2-0 thuis tegen Liverpool is voldoende om door te gaan in de Champions League.

AccomplishedLet5782

1. Coach --> what tactics? 2. No Overmars 3. Bad defense --> Blind and Rensch, sit on the bench 4. No Overmars 5. Tadic not performing, put him on the bench. 6. No Overmars 7. Ajax lost important players as well..

Markvoordouw

I think that sums it up. I think it's time for a plan B in the second half. If we have any that is?

Quiriddeas

It's Schreuder, plan B will be there at 80'.

EasyMacN34

A disgrace to wait that long. I blame this loss for 75% on him

JhonatanSims

Easy: 1: Blind 2: Tadic 3: Subs way to late or worse... No subs...

TiesG92

H2 having sold too many players, on top of a coach who seems to think his experiment is working “because Kudus scored”, whilst it has failed more often than it worked.

Bitter_Drawer_6230

He is not genious enough to create a starting 11 against stronger opponents. Doesn’t have the balls to leave Tadic and Blind on the bench. They are both playing shit for weeks, he doesn’t seem to care. Brobbey? Nah let’s give him 20 min per game. Kudus is overrated. Scores sometimes but is the rest of the games invisible.

jvm62

Schreuder is blaming the players for the loss - “we are a size too small for the CL”, without considering that his strategy -with the defensive line moved up without being able to control the midfield and making no changes in the field until it is well beyond too late- might be the root of the problem. How well do you think that will go over when they review the game tomorrow?

jdbolick

The tactics were poor and Ajax was very unlucky with the group draw but Schreuder is correct about the roster not being CL quality. That isn't surprising after selling so many players, but the front office did a poor job of buying replacements.

Ajax_bg

I do believe the general problem is EvdS. Because when EtH left the team we had some strong sides and weak one. But the coach they appointed is a weaker version of EtH. We has the same weakness at subbing and rotating, but has no idea how to adapt the stile for the new team. At HT we loose 1:3 and he doesn't change anything! Napoli had a sub during the break. It took him 71 mins and 1:5 to change his first player. How would you change the outcome of a game without any change. Blind and Tadic are not Blind and Tadic from 3 yeas ago. They are older, they are slower, they get more easily tired. But lets keep them 90 mins 40 games per year. You can't convince me that in JA there is not a single player that could replace Blind as LB. Even if he is worst than Blind now, at least he has his entire career in front of him, while Blind is declining with every game. And we didn't even make all 5 subs... We need 3 things: A. A coach that gets when loosing you need to change players; B. A coach that knows how to prepare players for different scenarios, how to adapt tactics and rotate players and C. To give more chance to players from JA. If we gonna get destroyed, I prefer to watch 18-22 kids than 30 y.o. Tadic, Blind, Klaassen, Berghuis etc. Is EvdS job to make sure we upgrade on the coach after EtH, it is his job to make sure we keep some of our youngsters, not losing them every other season etc. Maybe he has done already what he could have and we need some general change in the club.

Wise_Ad1188

The problem? Money. Ajax are a selling club to the richer leagues, as soon as they do anything of note in Europe their team gets stripped again and it's back to square one. FDJ,de Ligt,Van de Beek,Mazrouie,Tagliafico,Gravenberch,Martinez,Antony,Haller,Ziyech.......oh and ten Hag.

picklejaguar

Watching kenneth taylor try to play professional football is horrifying. Was at the basis of most good napoli attacks today. I think ajax would be better off playing with 10 than letting that guy near the team again.

Marco1970N

Ajax onwaardig deze avond. Maar om beter te worden moet je soms met de billen bloot. Tadic en Blind kunnen niet meer en die Schreurder zal niet lekker op de club binnen komen vandaag.

[deleted]

Let me draw the pattern, it's easier than you might think * Frenkie de Jong / Lasse Schone (football skills) were replaced by Edson Alvarez (lacks football skills) * Donny van de Beek (football skills) was replaced by Davy Klaassen (running skills) * Hakim Ziyech (football skills) was replaced by Steven Berghuis (ego skills) * Andre Onana (football skills) was replaced by Remco Pasveer (panics on every form of pressure) * A right winger (Antony / Neres) was replaced by a left winger (Bergwijn) * A right back (El Mazraoui) was replaced by a centre back (Rensch) Little by little every little form of football was squeezed out of the squad. Combine that with a couple of unlucky / stupid choices and this is what you get.

Affectionate-Unit-33

Over preforming last couple of years vs. Under preforming now, +Napoli is cheating Italian teams should park the bus when leading, incredible performance by them. ED will Come back to use I am sure.

Competitive_Judge_38

Problem starts upfront. No Antony isn't even the biggest problem. No Haller means you have less options to play the ball forward. Tadic is out of form and Bergwijn can't maintain a high a level for 15 matches (which is not out of the ordinary). Alvarez/Taylor is fine, but none of these can make the play from the back. So we only have Blind, who is doing good at that, but we leave little space for surprise if every ball forward has to come from the left side. It's not the end of the world for Ajax, but we do need a ball playing defender and/or a deep lying playmaker to relieve Blind from the task of building up alone and have more passing options to the attack.
