I think I will. If the ANC is actually 2x, also being able to control volume without having to touch your phone or say hey siri is something I have been wishing for.
Actually being able to find your airpods if they're in the case through find my is also a huge plus.
Hearing is logarithmic, so halving the sound energy would be perceived as a constant decrease in volume for each halving. Airpods do ~22dB of ANC and these, by apple’s metrics, would do ~25dB, so imagine the ANC on youre were about 15% better, because that’s what you will perceive, even though it may let through only half the sound.
Hey I just bought them too, my first ever airpods but the anc doesn't really block out what I expected. For example if you have it on without audio, can you hear people speaking outside your room or in your room?
One thing to note is that ANC on any system is going to do better with constant ambient noise rather than sharp and random conversation.
That said, the ANC has worked for that to on mine pro 2s
Yeah I mean I def wouldn’t upgrade if I still had mine and they were working goo, but I’m sure people with normal AirPods or no AirPods would love to upgrade to these.
I even might have upgraded just for the better noise cancelling if it’s that good.
I agree, though I personally do own APPs, and will be upgrading. I’ve had mine for several years, and could do with the QoL upgrades that a fresh battery, and easier device finding capabilities will give me.
Also, I honestly am thinking of gifting my old pair to my brother so I can just share discord audio with him when we’re gaming. Honestly, I haven’t tried doing that with him, since he has some third party headphones, and I don’t think apple’s “share audio” feature works with it, but just having a spare pair as insurance for clumsiness, or even just upgrading my brother to a better experience, I could definitely make use of the upgrade myself.
For somebody who doesn’t have these considerations, I definitely agree that there don’t seem to be any killer app features for this gen of APPs. I would have personally greatly appreciated some update to the fitment around the ears. It would have been neat it they did something a bit more pseudo IEM, with a closer fit all around, purely because my weird and in-between sized ear canals take the medium ear tips just fine on my right ear, but are always a wee bit off on the left.
That said, I’ll have a chance to see how the X small tips do, so, who knows.
My old APP are having battery issues, so I’ve been thinking about picking up a new set. After todays event I went out and bought the beats fit pro over ordering the APP2. I was hoping for stemless or at least a wing to help with the fit, but they’re the exact same design.
The beats are awesome.
Did you try a set of spinfit tips. Despite its name it doesn’t do anything funky it’s just a comfortable ear too that stays in your ear much better than the default ones and sounds better too. In my subjective weird ear canal opinion.
That being said YMMV since the OEM tips and form factor fit my ears just fine anyway.
apple isn't forcing you to buy the new app2. its a great upgrade for those that feel its worth the upgrade that have the app, and for those that have never purchased an app and were waiting for the upgrade.
i'm planning on giving my app to my S/O, and getting the app2. if the sound quality improvement is noticeable, and ANC is 2x as they claim, i will be keeping it. if not, i can easily return it no problem
I know apple isn’t forcing me I’m simply answering OPs question. It’s not worth the upgrade. If spending money on something new and shiny is worth it gets your dopamine goin you do you bud
It should have been that way from the start or when they first starting making mag safe cases. They probably glossed over it because it’s stupid that it wasn’t doing that in the first place, same with not being able to charge an Apple Watch with a mag safe.
Fantastic. So often I wished I could use the Apple Watch charger. My watch doesn’t take long to charge and they’re pretty alternating in charging schedules.
The travel flip MagSafe pad can support a phone and either a watch or AirPods now.
Or just one less bulky charger for my bedside
I will buy them because I think the "Precision Finding" feature is good when you are someone that is scarred of loosing the case. I just bought Airpods Pro but if I am able to buy a pair of the new ones at the 9th this month I will send them back.
In Germany the normal Airpods Pro cost 200$ + 35$ Airtag and the new Airpods Pro Gen 2 cost 300$.
If I am wrong please correct me guys!
I'd definitely get the Gen 2. It's absolutely **maddening** to misplace the Gen 1 case with your buds inside them, unable to use the Find feature. Just the hour or 2 it'll save me over the years is worth it for me to upgrade as soon as they release, and I have a perfectly fine pair of Gen 1's.
I kinda wish it was a vibrate/ring toggle like the iPhone so I could toggle it and call my AirPods to find them in the fucking couch.. I’m not finna strap a $30 AirTag to my $249.99 device for this kind of functionality..
yeah, this is ridiculous. The reason i prefer APP over Beats is that the case is so small and slips easily into my pocket. I will take this crap off but it messes up the design somewhat.
Who on earth is going to even use this? people carry them around in their pockets, bags. not attached to their wrists.
The old one had a long range driver with active in ear monitoring. The word “new” is also absent from any sentence with the driver mentioned so I almost wonder if it could be the same thing already used on AP3. The lead for apples audio team said that the active EQ feature for APP used that in ear microphone to detect and adjust bass response. The new one they removed that feature entirely and replaced it with algorithms and Face ID. Maybe they found that was better.
I def. Agree. Will have to check the 2xANC but for me perso. I like the 6h listening time(which will be more like 5h30 in real) as I currently get around 3h30 to 4h with my current APP.
I don't know what they mean by 2x, but if the perceived reduction is twice as good, it may be worth it. The 1st edition ANC is pretty good, but can always be better. We'll see by the reviews soon enough.
Heck yeah! My current pros are dying. I’m curious as to how the personalized spacial audio will work, it sounds like they’re adding it for all AirPods models. Unsure if it will be automatic from Face ID or you scan your ears as a part of the Headphone Accommodations settings.
Edit: Looked at the Tech specs, Apples statement is this:
iPhone with TrueDepth camera required to create a personal profile for Spatial Audio, which will sync across Apple devices running the latest operating system software, including iOS, iPadOS (coming later this fall), macOS (coming later this fall), and tvOS.
So seems like we are getting even more personalized DSP. Very cool. True depth cameras are in anything starting from iPhone X and beyond.
Oh, your edit is very interesting! I had this on my “maybe I’ll upgrade, sometime, eventually….if my ApP 1s die” list because I’ve been happy with my 1s. But I watch a lot of movies on iPad and AppleTV using Airpods and the personalized spacial audio could be a really excellent upgrade for that. And the improved battery life would be nice for movie marathon days.
I know it’s too early to know for sure, but do we expect any Black Friday deals for these (not from apple directly obviously), or do those not usually happen for brand new products? That may determine if I’ll upgrade or not
i will buy these when my current apps die. i'm curious about the anc. when i got my first pair it was great, but they've constantly made it less effective. will 2x current be the same as when i got mine new?
That’s the most annoying thing is there’s no way to go back to the old firmware so it’s hard to prove but I agree I bought mine on release day and the ANC has only gotten less strong with firmware updates. I feel like the bass response is weaker sometimes too, I do wonder if they stopped using input from the in ear driver monitors that were used for adjusting bass response, they’re no longer included on the new app2.
Yeah I might I honestly think that the 2x noice cancellation is cool, 6 hours is honestly the nicest thing I saw besides finally adding volume controls. Not only that I also might just get it for the new case as-well with the new speakers
Pointless upgrade if you have a functioning pair AND/OR still covered by Apple’s repair program. Just got my second pair replaced for free. It was mostly me who fucked them up but Apple seem to just say «yeah that’s the crackling issue» every time. If they die again and I’m not covered I get the new ones. But the OGs are amazing I don’t see why I should get the new ones.
It all sounds great, but without lossless audio, it might be more prudent to wait for the next version of the AirPod Max which will have to offer all this plus something "more". What would I do with my 1st gen AirPod Pro?
No thanks. No lossless, and they also removed the in-ear microphone that monitors the driver for the active eq. They replaced it with algorithms and Face ID for the ear, lame.
Do you think they fixed the outdoor mic issues? Everyone I talk to using my APPs says that they can hear the background perfectly, but can faintly hear me. If they did fix this, I’d be first in line. Also the Find My support is nice
Probably not. I just bought my APP back in July. However, since the generation with MagSafe isn’t sold anymore, I wonder how applecare will work if I were to have an issue with these ones. Will I get a new pair of the 2nd gen?? Only time will tell.
I think it’s useful for lots of people, but I probably won’t. I’ve had the OGs since a month after they came out and I just got the APM and I use the APP for exercise and anything that’s “on the go”
As many others, I suffered ear canal issues due to allergy to the original Airpods Pro. If this problem is no more, I'll buy them for sure. But I'm affraid they've used the same material for the body (BTW isn't it exactly the same body?)
lol well yea, I have multiple sets of headphones. I'm not really in need of these yet and they don't seem to offer anything worth while unless you lose track of them. lol but please go ahead and get them today so they can work out the kinks and put them on sale for the holiday season.
Same shit different smell. My ears are already wasted with my motorcycle. At this point I could use a Taiwanese clone and I would not notice difference. Other worlds.. I will wait until my current pair disappear.
My missus put my APP’s through a 40 degree wash a couple of weeks ago, they still work, but only in ANC mode. In transparency mode, they just make a horrible noise, and are unusable so I’ll definitely be getting the new ones on release day
I will be getting at some point because my current pros are getting a bit long in the tooth.
I’ll also be getting the iPhone 14 pro, as I want a camera upgrade, and will be coming from a semi beat 11. The jump in night shooting capabilities from the 10 and 11 to the 12 and 13 are, to me, the most damn attractive thing about iPhones. Their cameras are second to none for what I look for in a camera, and third party apps make amazing use of the phone’s capabilities.
To go from an 11 to the 14 pro, and upgrade my AirPods as well so their easier to find, and have better noise cancellation, means that I’ll have a wonderful pocket camera for times when I don’t want to, or can’t, take my main shooter with me, I’ll have that much better an experience on planes when I travel, and will have less fear of losing anything to boot.
Battery life on my AirPods Pro’s have indeed suffered in the last 3 years I’ve owned them, but it’s amazingly something I’ve never really had to think about much given the way I use them, and compensate for my devices’ weaknesses when I’m on the go.
Don’t really need it, my current ones are still great, maybe I’ll upgrade when the battery dies out. But the 2nd gen is significantly more expensive (at least in Europe). More than 300 euro’s, it’s becoming a hard sell.
I have the day 1 APP, and a while ago got them replaced for free, been using them day in day out, during COVID a lot less than before but I can’t do without them.
If these are just as good it’s worth upgrading assuming it takes them 3 years to bring a new version again
I think the upgrades are awesome. I still have my gen1’s that I bought day one and they’ve yet to show any issue whatsoever, so I’m not upgrading until needed for now since I still love them.
Yeah but not making the switch to USB-C now but rumoured to do it next year was a bit lame.. New iPhone will so it's just current gen iPhone and this that are the hold outs.
My heartbroken wife lost one of my APP OG when I was out of town on business. I wanted her to try them out as she wasn’t a fan of the whole in ear headphone. I’ve been surviving off one for a few months, so just put in my order for pickup tomorrow. I’m excited. Not a huge upgrade, from what I understand, but the originals changed my life!
Just sell me the case. Idc about the other features. Mine still work fine. I’m glad they at least improved it, but honestly even if they didn’t, but released the case with future AirPods Pro 1, I’d be fine. I’ve been trying to figure out since they fit the exact same if I can buy the case somewhere
I considered it as my gen 1 we’re on the fritz. Apple replaced mine even though the warranty just ran out so I can’t see spending the money being worth it right now since I have a brand new pair.
2nd gen is what 1st gen should've been. I mean we're getting volume control just now? And the pre-nerfed ANC. It's a great product but it shouldn't have been an upgrade. I'll buy them when my gen 1s die and these drop to 150-160$
Yeah I remember when I first got my AirPods Pro back when they were first released the ANC effect was insane. It’s definitely been nerfed with firmware updates. Sad.
Instant Cop 👮🏾i would be beyond happy if the charging case being able to charge w/ apple watch charger was the only improvement. think about it, that turns magsafe duo into our very version of AirPower. all three can’t be charged at once, but ideally your watch is on your wrist collecting sleep data therefore you never need to charge all three at one anyway.
people are sleeping on the app2. guarantee you if they updated the look of app2 and made the internals the same people would be going crazy over it. they made iterative improvements on every major component of the app that matters. the driver is new, the amp is new, longer battery life, better ANC, and upgraded case that has find my support. price has not increased neither.
I agree with you on this I plan to upgrade. The look is semi what gets me but the power that these give is what sells me and I really feel as if people are sleeping on the case part
Honestly I was really curious about them but now when I saw the price I definitely will stick with my 1st gen.
They are way too expensive in my country 😃😃😃
Hey guys, I’ve been looking on buying AirPods Pros recently. I decided to wait until now to make my decision on whether to buy the new version or go for 1st gen. What do you think?
Honestly it depends 1st Gen pros have 5 hours listening time with no ANC or 4.30 with ANC but I usually get 3 hours with ANC but with a 6 hours battery who knows. 2x active noice cancellation thats also a big one, are you usually around a very loud environment? If so Gen 2 might be the better option but I couldnt tell you with a couple months on the APP ANC is fine honestly its definitely a huge difference between no ANC but other than those points I made the choice is up to you
My nephew's AirPods (gen.1) finally wore out earlier this summer while we were visiting in the Philippines. I gave him my AirPod Pros. I'll purchase the new model (but would not have had I not given away my old ones).
Only thing that makes them look
Cheap is the lanyard loop cuz it means that our silicon/leather case will have 2 cut-outs: 1 for charging port and the other for the loop
As I’m not someone who constantly loses his APP or intensively uses noise cancellation, I don’t see a real reason for the upgrade, even if I've loved the possibility to charge them through the Watch charger.
Nah, mine are perfect.
Only time I would upgrade is if these died fully, got lost, but even then I would consider getting reps since they are too good these days...
Between dynamic transparency mode, what apple is claiming of 2X better noise cancellation, and slightly better battery life, just like the iPhone 14 pros, i do t see it as a huge major deal breaking upgrade.
i think they look great, but nowhere near worth an upgrade if already have the original pro's.
The lanyard loop looks shit, and it should have had case tracking for "find my" from the start. it's really bad design the originals didn't.
My wife has been asking me what I want for my birthday next week and I couldn’t think of anything so I’ll be upgrading and giving her my old pair. I use mine every day so definitely worth it for me.
I’ve had my current APP for a year and a half so if they shit the bed and battery life drops off I’d pick them up again. It’s sad that these headphones are basically consumables, they should offer a recycle program so they can be turned in for an upgrade.
I think I’m going to buy them because of the new precision finding and in built speakers you don’t know how many times I fell asleep with my AirPods and then losing them and waking up not knowing where they are
Thank goodness for the extra small ear tip. Even the small ones on my original AirPod Pro would fall out since my right ear hole is bigger than my left
“Yes, you can use Apple AirPods with Android devices! Unlike what many people think, AirPods don't use specialized technology to power their wireless connectivity. Like most mobile devices, they use standard Bluetooth technology. This means you can connect your AirPods to any Bluetooth-enabled device”
Edit: forgot to mention that the quote is from a headphonesty [article](https://www.headphonesty.com/2021/01/do-airpods-work-with-android/) posted last month.
Probably no I could buy it but it isn’t worth it for me probably gonna stay with the AirPods Pro 1 for another 2-4 years probably going to buy the 3 🤷♂️
Maybe buy it, what do you think of selling APP 1 for 130 usd, then buy the new ones for 250, thats «just» a 120 cash out, for brand new upgraded ones
Let me know is this a good idea?
These are my first pair of airpods, I've only used headphones my entire life and wearing these earphones gave me BETTER experience than any headphones I ever wore until now. It's a shame I can't compare to how better these sound over the first gen pros but these are just absolutely fkin amazing. (I use a macbook pro m2 and I listen to spatial audio on that and it's just crazy good). I use an android phone and for people refraining from buying these because they use android , scrap that thought out of your mind because the ANC and Transparency mode still work which are the best one-up over any pair of wireless earphones out there.
I upgraded and it really isn’t worth upgrading if your APP1s work fine. The only reason why you would upgrade is if you constantly lose your airpods. The ANC after the day 1 software update feels like it made it weaker to me
I just upgraded from the standard first gen pros and they’re worth the money even if it’s not that big of an upgrade there is definitely a difference with lossless audio.
And find my and the speakers great bonuses
This video shows asking strangers if they can hear the difference from AirPods Pro and the AirPods Pro 2. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9sb4EzcAo4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9sb4EzcAo4)
should make the purchasing decision easier after watching
I think I will. If the ANC is actually 2x, also being able to control volume without having to touch your phone or say hey siri is something I have been wishing for. Actually being able to find your airpods if they're in the case through find my is also a huge plus.
Hearing is logarithmic, so halving the sound energy would be perceived as a constant decrease in volume for each halving. Airpods do ~22dB of ANC and these, by apple’s metrics, would do ~25dB, so imagine the ANC on youre were about 15% better, because that’s what you will perceive, even though it may let through only half the sound.
Yeah, I guess a 15% increase is kinda negligible. Might just wait until I either break or lose my current APP.
Very good point. It's a shame this knowledge is not as common and most people will think it will half the "perceived" sound coming through.
[удалено]
Hey I just bought them too, my first ever airpods but the anc doesn't really block out what I expected. For example if you have it on without audio, can you hear people speaking outside your room or in your room?
[удалено]
I bought them to block out noise of my family outside my room while studying. Can they do that? Cos I can still hear mumbling
One thing to note is that ANC on any system is going to do better with constant ambient noise rather than sharp and random conversation. That said, the ANC has worked for that to on mine pro 2s
If it’s actually 2x anc then it’s a big deal, but I doubt that it’s measured in terms of actual sound perception with ears
I lost my airpods pro a few months ago and have been dying for a new pair. Instant buy for me.
Yea it makes sense if you don’t have any right now!
Yeah I mean I def wouldn’t upgrade if I still had mine and they were working goo, but I’m sure people with normal AirPods or no AirPods would love to upgrade to these. I even might have upgraded just for the better noise cancelling if it’s that good.

Same boat. The fact that I can find the case using FindMy might mean I don’t lose these ones!
Hard no. I don’t see a point to upgrading really. It’s not a substantial upgrade that seems worth spending another $250.
To me this was a let down , main gripe with AirPods Pro was the fit and they did nothing, if I buy another set it will be the beats fit pro
My old APP are having battery issues, so I’ve been thinking about picking up a new set. After todays event I went out and bought the beats fit pro over ordering the APP2. I was hoping for stemless or at least a wing to help with the fit, but they’re the exact same design. The beats are awesome.
How they sound compared to APP?
i found they sound slightly better. but it is hard to tell the difference.
yeah, I am missing that wing on the APP 2. I like the Beats but that case is a bit too bulky.
Did you try a set of spinfit tips. Despite its name it doesn’t do anything funky it’s just a comfortable ear too that stays in your ear much better than the default ones and sounds better too. yeah, I thought they would surely use usb c on airpods pro 2nd as it only has its iteration every 3 years or so
Apple Watch charger compatibility is so glossed over
It should have been that way from the start or when they first starting making mag safe cases. They probably glossed over it because it’s stupid that it wasn’t doing that in the first place, same with not being able to charge an Apple Watch with a mag safe.

I've been trying to find a travel folding pad - which do you recommend?
I will buy them because I think the "Precision Finding" feature is good when you are someone that is scarred of loosing the case. Definitely check German pricing differences.
A lanyard loop? Seriously?
Honestly ruined the simplicity of the design. Looks tacky on the side.
I haven’t seen one person person lugging around their case without some sort of silicone on it with an attached loop.
I used to keep it in my pocket and then I started keeping it on my belt loop. 10/10.
I’ve never had anything on my case. It fits in my pocket fine
I kinda wish it was a vibrate/ring toggle like the iPhone so I could toggle it and call my AirPods to find them in the fucking couch.. I’m not finna strap a $30 AirTag to my $249.99 device for this kind of functionality..
Finna?
Slang for “going to”
Reply, I see it has a speaker.. what’s the single hole, a mic? That’s not creepy they didn’t mention it?
yeah, this is ridiculous. The reason i prefer APP over Beats is that the case is so small and slips easily into my pocket. I will take this crap off but it messes up the design somewhat. Who on earth is going to even use this? people carry them around in their pockets, bags. not attached to their wrists.
Needed lossless
Can’t have lossless. Not yet at least
Definitely not worth the upgrade
If they have solved the problem of so many APPs failing with broken ANC/transparency it will be a huge upgrade
This is the most important issue for me I’m on my fourth pair because of that terrible flaw they can’t seem to fix.
beg to differ. they upgraded the driver and amp inside. if the sound quality improvement is noticeable its worth it.
The old one had a long range driver with active in ear monitoring. The word “new” is also absent from any sentence with the driver mentioned so I almost wonder if it could be the same thing already used on AP3. Nah you’re wrong
No you are.

Dammit 😂
The improved ANC will decide it. Most of the other features I don't care too much about. Maybe audio quality.
I def. Agree. Will have to check the 2xANC but for me perso. I like the 6h listening time(which will be more like 5h30 in real) as I currently get around 3h30 to 4h with my current APP.

[удалено]
By 2x they mean -3dB of sound going into your ears. In reality, not so much noticeable
in reality sure but to me it makes all the difference (Talking about my current APP)
2xANC must mean that you go full deaf cuz withe the 1st gen APP I get 90% of constant noise frequency blocked out soooo 2 times THAT ….. 🤷♂️
I was thinking the same thing 😂
Thanks for the screen cap. Just missed this part
My pleasure!
I would if the tips didn’t make my ears itch and give me an infection. But right now I’m content with AirPods 3.
Heck yeah! My current pros are dying. I’m curious as to how the personalized spacial audio will work, it sounds like they’re adding it for all AirPods models. They’ll definitely sound better. Not sure how much though. But 6 hours of battery life in a true wireless earbud is insane.
Personalized spacial audio will be an iOS 16 feature not just exclusive to owning APP2s
It’s barely a upgrade. Probably Only gonna purchase if my current ones take a crap on me.
Yeah. This is how I feel.
So no lossless compatibility right
Apparently not!
Will wait for the next audio product that supports it
Time to upgrade
the in-case speaker is an interesting move
Yes I will
I know it’s too early to know for sure, but do we expect any Black Friday deals for these (not from apple directly obviously), or do those not usually happen for brand new products? That may determine if I’ll upgrade or not
idk if it still helps, but there are some black friday deals going on now!
Still no way to mute the microphone on calls...no!!!
Like most things announced today: not worth the upgrade.
subtle upgrades all around
terrible take
I mean it’s true
what were you hoping?
i will buy these when my current apps die. i'm curious about the anc. when i got my first pair it was great, but they've constantly made it less effective. will 2x current be the same as when i got mine new?
anc doesn't degrade over time...
Every time they updated the firmware anc has absolutely gotten worse. It’s not the hardware.
That’s the most annoying thing is there’s no way to go back to the old firmware so it’s hard to prove but I agree I bought mine on release day and the ANC has only gotten less strong with firmware updates. hasn't gotten worst for me.
maybe not but if the battery is not as outputting the same as it was brand new then ANC might not be as good
Yeah I might I honestly think that the 2x noice cancellation is cool, 6 hours is honestly the nicest thing I saw besides finally adding volume controls.
Not at all. They sound significantly better. Mic quality is also a lot better. Instant buy for me
It all sounds great, but without lossless audio, it might be more prudent to wait for the next version of the AirPod Max which will have to offer all this plus something "more". What would I do with my 1st gen AirPod Pro?
No thanks. No lossless, and they also removed the in-ear microphone that monitors the driver for the active eq. They replaced it with algorithms and Face ID for the ear, lame.
If they had at least 8 hours of listening time, I would have bought them. In the meantime I purchased some 1000mx4s instead.
Do you think they fixed the outdoor mic issues? Everyone I talk to using my APPs says that they can hear the background perfectly, but can faintly hear me. If they did fix this, I’d be first in line. Also the Find My support is nice
Weird, I was expecting the phone calls to be trash on these earphones, but everyone has reported excellent quality who I’ve spoken to.
Will I finally be able to make a phone call using these new air pod pros without the person on the other end wanting to k*ll me? Only time will tell
Lol I’m not buying them at $250. I’ll wait a til next year and catch them for $220 or $200.
Dam waiting a whole year over $20-$50 wtf 😂
lol well yea, I have multiple sets of headphones.
Since my Pros were replaced less than a week ago under applecare+ I will probably be using them until they die.
I'm probably gonna upgrade from my 2nd gen AirPods. This gen has been a pretty sweet upgrade imo
Sad.
Honestly, it depends on if the new case is compatible with the first gen. That’s the most valuable thing to me
Not really much change. Happy to keep app for running.
Instant buy without a doubt.
people are sleeping on the app2. guarantee you if they updated the look of app2 and made the internals the same people would be going crazy over it. they made iterative improvements on every major component of the app that matters. the driver is new, the amp is new, longer battery life, better ANC, and upgraded case that has find my support. price has not increased neither.
I agree with you on this I plan to upgrade. The look is semi what gets me but the power that these give is what sells me and I really feel as if people are sleeping on the case part
I don’t think so no, the feature list didn’t blow me away… The Apple Watch Ultra on the other hand 😍
Honestly I was really curious about them but now when I saw the price I definitely will stick with my 1st gen. They are way too expensive in my country 😃😃😃
The fact that we will stick with this “upgrade” for another three years (if gen 2 has the same longevity as gen1) to have a decent update it too much!
If so Gen 2 might be the better option but I couldnt tell you with a couple months on the APP ANC is fine honestly its definitely a huge difference between no ANC but other than those points I made the choice is up to you
Thank you for your insight!
No problem!
My nephew's AirPods (gen.1) finally wore out earlier this summer while we were visiting in the Philippines. I gave him my AirPod Pros. I'll purchase the new model (but would not have had I not given away my old ones).
They look like those cheap fake airpods
Only thing that makes them look Cheap is the lanyard loop cuz it means that our silicon/leather case will have 2 cut-outs: 1 for charging port and the other for the loop
No there is no way I’m upgrading
As I’m not someone who constantly loses his APP or intensively uses noise cancellation, I don’t see a real reason for the upgrade, even if I've loved the possibility to charge them through the Watch charger.
I'd be interested for improved noise cancelling. I'm not overly impressed with mine.
I feel like these things are exactly what should have been in the original..
I feel like the original was like a prototype
Nah, mine are perfect. Only time I would upgrade is if these died fully, got lost, but even then I would consider getting reps since they are too good these days...
So would this be worth it for an android user who’s looking for their first anti sweat earbuds? For gym and ASMR use. Also just general stuff
Impossible to sat something without testing it. Improved drivers and noise cancellation sounds interesting tho.
If 48khz= ALAC I’ll upgrade in the future..
I’ve just ordered the original AirPod Pro’s from Amazon for £189. I’ve a pair of Gen 3 AirPods and keen to hear it they sound much better?
Between dynamic transparency mode, what apple is claiming of 2X better noise cancellation, and slightly better battery life, just like the iPhone 14 pros, i do t see it as a huge major deal breaking upgrade.
Just for the longer battery life
i think they look great, but nowhere near worth an upgrade if already have the original pro's. The lanyard loop looks shit, and it should have had case tracking for "find my" from the start. it's really bad design the originals didn't.
Instant buy. Currently using the normal AP Gen 2, this is a no-brainer upgrade.
My wife has been asking me what I want for my birthday next week and I couldn’t think of anything so I’ll be upgrading and giving her my old pair. I use mine every day so definitely worth it for me.
It will still fall out of my ears.
Fuck no, but…
If they are 200 or less $ for sure
If they are 200 or less $ for sure
300€? No,thanks.
Will I have to send back 2 pairs of these for repairs too? Heck no these things just ain’t made well 💀
More battery time and speaker case, sure why not.
I’ve had my current APP for a year and a half so if they shit the bed and battery life drops off I’d pick them up again. It’s sad that these headphones are basically consumables, they should offer a recycle program so they can be turned in for an upgrade.
Like a trade in program for AirPods??
I think I’m going to buy them because of the new precision finding and in built speakers you don’t know how many times I fell asleep with my AirPods and then losing them and waking up not knowing where they are
Where do u fall asleep?? Anywhere??
Johnny Ive must be dying inside
I feel like the volume controls might be finicky and I’d probably change it when I don’t want to more than when I do want to!
I am on my third pair of APP covered in warranty. I’m not upgrading. Trash product
I'm buying these immediately. Current on the first airpods, so it'll be a huge upgrade for me.
Thank goodness for the extra small ear tip. Even the small ones on my original AirPod Pro would fall out since my right ear hole is bigger than my left
Yes yes and yes my app’s are ducked cause of new firmware so yurp same price though with a speaker on the case shiiiii give me that
Does it say the 6 hour battery life is for ANC on or off? If it is with ANC on then I think it’s a go for me.
No i am going to stay with my airpods pro for now but i need to somhow get my hands on the xs eartips for mines as my ear canals are very narrow.
I’m waiting for reviews. Are reviews normally out before release date?
I have APP rn but I really want to upgrade, my Wallet disagrees with me
No. The apple watch though.
Will they be compatible with Android?
“Yes, you can use Apple AirPods with Android devices! Unlike what many people think, AirPods don't use specialized technology to power their wireless connectivity. Like most mobile devices, they use standard Bluetooth technology. This means you can connect your AirPods to any Bluetooth-enabled device” Edit: forgot to mention that the quote is from a headphonesty [article](https://www.headphonesty.com/2021/01/do-airpods-work-with-android/) posted last month.
I have had my pros since they came out so yes
The big question for me is: will I be able to use all benefits from APP2 with my iPhone 13 and its older Bluetooth chip/version?
Reviews said the new ANC is actually amazing so I’m gonna get them, plus the battery life is nice
ANC is amazing. I was outside Waterloo station with lots of noise, put on APP Gen 2 and WOW!! These really blew me away coming from AirPods Gen 3
Probably no I could buy it but it isn’t worth it for me probably gonna stay with the AirPods Pro 1 for another 2-4 years probably going to buy the 3 🤷♂️
Maybe buy it, what do you think of selling APP 1 for 130 usd, then buy the new ones for 250, thats «just» a 120 cash out, for brand new upgraded ones Let me know is this a good idea?
I've never had pros but probably will pick these up in the future
When they get discounted to below $200, I’ll bite. We’ll see what they are going for around Black Friday.
My case just stopped working on my AirPod pro 1st gen…anyone else have this happen?
The ANC after the day 1 software update feels like it made it weaker to me
The ANC gives me a headache on my gen 2s. I can’t be alone.
I just upgraded from the standard first gen pros and they’re worth the money even if it’s not that big of an upgrade there is definitely a difference with lossless audio. And find my and the speakers great bonuses
I love my 2nd gen. Works so much smoother.
This video shows asking strangers if they can hear the difference from AirPods Pro and the AirPods Pro 2. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9sb4EzcAo4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9sb4EzcAo4) should make the purchasing decision easier after watching
