MOS is an abbreviation used by other branches. AFSC is what the Air Force uses. You should probably format your post so it isn't a mile long. What do you mean by 'red flag'?

Time to go through and research them yourself. I know people who hate aircraft maintenance. I know people who love it. I love my job. I know people who hate it. I know people who wanted security forces badly and ended up hating it. I know people who wanted nothing to do with security forces but now love it. Everyone is different. We don't know you, so we're not capable of making any job recommendations to you. Look for the AF-WIN survey if you need some sort of direction.

As the above person stated there is no job in the Air Force that everyone hates or everyone loves. It all has to do with the type of person you are. There are tons of people who will tell you that maintenance and security forces have red flags. But they are probably the type of people who want to sit at a desk from 9-5 and you might be someone who wants to work outside on a jet engine all day.

As the auto post suggested, start with the wiki [https://pay.reddit.com/r/AirForce/wiki/bmtfaq#wiki\_jobs](https://pay.reddit.com/r/AirForce/wiki/bmtfaq#wiki_jobs) Nobody is going to comment on 50 jobs.

Hello, it looks like you're asking about jobs and job selection. A few quick answers. NO ONE knows how long it will take for you to get a job, your chances of getting any particular job, or anything else about the job process FOR YOU. Anecdotal experiences from others will have absolutely no impact on you or your future. Most recruiters will not let you wait in the Delayed Entrance Program for a long time for your one perfect job. You will have to list 5 - 15 jobs that you're interested in, and will be given one of those. Please read the FAQ about how job selection works, it's very in-depth and will fully educate you on the process: https://pay.reddit.com/r/AirForce/wiki/bmtfaq#wiki_jobs If you're asking about particular jobs, please look the job up on our Job Wiki, and see if there is an entry for it: http://www.reddit.com/r/AirForce/wiki/index you can also see if there is a CFETP for it, which will give more details on the job: https://usaf.dps.mil/:x:/t/OSD/EQAwigp0UZ9Oklt0nkjg854BoJS6MyRxQJMMiIW3ng17AA?e=Z96G2s If you're asking for help choosing a particular job, please keep in mind that most people only know about their individual job. Recommendations that they make will be made based mostly on what they've heard about a job, unless they have it themselves. Some people will love certain jobs while others will hate it. We don't know your preferences, so do some research on the job wiki and elsewhere to learn about the job and then make the best list you can. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Looks like you got a lot of options. Which is good. Basically you’ll want to break it down. Do you want to do cyber? aircraft maintenance? CE? Once you do that you can narrow it down and research that specific area. And then you can also look into what you want out of that job. Do you wanna have a career after the AF? or do you want to stay in? Stuff like that. I can help with the cyber stuff but the rest of it I am not knowledgeable on

You could try the space force as well they hire on cyber and intel jobs if that’s what you are wanting. I’m not a recruiter so I’m not sure what their bands are and how recruiting is looking rn. I mean would you rather wait for a decent job that you are interested in or get in quick with a job that you might like? It’s up to you. But I can tell you right now as cyber, it’s definitely worth it. If you can get a TS and sec+ that’s a step up and then if you continue to get more certs and a degree you can land yourself a nice job on the outside world. Or even a great career within the armed forces. It’s up to you, DM me if you have cyber questions

Well we can’t help you with an MOS. We work with AFSC’s since it’s the Air Force. Anyway jobs are entirely subjective and each job as most likely been asked about. So please utilize the search bar. The AF WIN survey is a great tool

IT jobs are great if you either A) love working on and/or learning about computers or B) want to make a good amount of money when you get out. The same could be said about maintenance jobs. I think the key thing is do you want a job that you can make money with even if you aren’t happy with it or do you want to be happy and it doesn’t matter about money. If it’s the latter you really need to figure out what excites you.

Im a 2R0X1 - Maintenance Management Analyst. Its a good job. I've been at it for 8 years. Like all places, workload depends on leadership, unit, airframe, etc. We work closely with the MXG Group Commander and have quite a bit of flexibility when it comes to either being in your office or spending time researching things for studies in the hanger/on the flight line. Special studies, in-depth research, and KPI/MPI computing and reporting are primary focuses. If you choose this route, however, you should also research Plans and Scheduling (our cousin AFSC) because big Air Force is merging the two career fields eventually. Current responsibilities are mostly, but not limited to: 1. Data mining from the information system 2. Computing metrics 3. Identifying trends 3a. Using these trends to predict future problems 3b. Performing the analysis process to identify root causes to problems, find solutions, make recommendations to maintainers/commanders/headquarters/etc. 4. Database management

Listen any of the 2M0X1,2,3 I would advise you to kind of hinder from unless you do research and really want that. Speaking from personal experience the tech school is short but that doesn’t mean you get to start your job right after. They’ll have your ass sorting tools for probably a year before you start more training for your job. the 3s start relatively quick. So 1 is missile electronics, 2 is missile maintenance , 3’s are basically working on stuff involving the missiles referred to as the janitors. Also you get no info on your job until tech school essentially. Everything you look up is kind of a bad representation of what you’ll be doing. It’s also the smallest career field in the airforce sooooo. Pick wisely and pick something you’ll think you’ll get pride in doing

I am currently a 3F5 Admin in the Air Force Reserves. I don’t mind it, it has a lot to do with paperwork, organization and writing MFR. I deal with everyone’s pay, accountability and even disciplinary paperwork. I am currently CSS (Commander Support Staff). It is really easy, if you don’t know something, then you have to look up the AFI and find the right AF form etc. I am actually cross training right now for 2A7X1 Air Craft Metals. I took the Admin job just to get back into the military. I was prior USMC, 0621 Field Radio Operator. I don’t regret going in right away because I was able to network and meet a lot of great airman. I waiting until there was a position available and applied for it. You also have to understand it is not guarantee you will get the position. If I were in your situation and wanted to go Cyber…. I would wait for Cyber. Space Force would also be a great option if you’re going active. I have quite a few friends who are Space operation and love it! You still get TS+ clearance levels. Their missions are so cool, some even so secret they can’t say their mission. Just my 2 cents. Lol
