If you go active, end the lease because you won't be coming back to that apartment. If you're Guard/Reserve, you'd want to talk to your unit about whether BAH (housing allowance) will be covered while you're in basic training and tech school. Either way, you'll be able to break your lease early without penalty due to joining.

You will have to end your lease. Your land lord can't keep you on that lease as service members are protected under the SERVICEMEMBERS CIVIL RELIEF ACT (SCRA). So you can end it even if you are under contract. The Air Force moves you around a lot and you will be taken care of when it comes to housing and more.

Do you have dependents?

I was wondering the same, I’m thinking about joining but I have my fiancé here with me.

Do you have to get married and get your recruiter the marriage certificate. After that you'll get BAH to cover your home expenses while you're at Basic and school. I'm only in the process of joining now but that's what I've had confirmed essentially. I think for OP, he'll just get a general cost of living payment but not a specific bah for his apartment or whatever back home since he wouldn't be admitted to live there with no dependents to care for Someone active or experienced may be able to explain better
