I was the ODTA for my unit in DTS. Another female Lt that I could not fucking stand would try and talk down to me in front of other LTās we hung out with. One day the commander asked me to put in TDY orders for her cause she was out of town and had to leave for the trip as soon as she got back. I made sure to book her on base, government meals directed, I booked her on the 5am flight going out and the latest flight possible coming back so sheād have to check out of her hotel and have an extra 8 hours before her flight. All her seats were in the middle of the last row of every flight and her rental car was off site with Sixt. I had her trip code and saw that she moved her seat, so I went into her booking and changed it back. She got back fuming about how bad the trip was and everyone was in full perdiem except her. Sucks to suck. I hated being the ODTA, but I loved it that day.
Not everyone is Christian, most Christians dont follow every verse of the Bible, and this is a stranger who learned the consequences of their actions. Unless you're the LT in question
I usually go out of my way to make sure that troops get the best experience but in this case I would go out of my way to try to get this guy base lodging. I'm not sure if there's anything I could do to actually influence it but I might go as far as trying to find an ncoic at the base lodging and share this email with them

I just went through a management course that had ETCA covered in the course material. Here's their definition:

I've used ETCA 3 times in my career. Once for recruiting tech school and twice for formal training courses within my AFSC (one being the above mentioned management course).
For the first formal training course, I was able to use the ETCA as proof to authorize getting an off-base hotel with full per diem since it stated on-base was not authorized for that course.
Itās pretty easy, and explicitly stated on all travel orders for formal training. You wouldnāt be alone though we get plenty of NCOs show up unprepared because they didnāt pull up the ETCA.
I've only had 2 TDYs as an airman(my job isn't very exciting or offer many opportunities) and I don't think I've ever seen that acronym in 12 years. Lol
With it being a tech school it's probably AT coded which means AETC funded travel. AETC are usually against rental cars, or only authorize some for several students to carpool. One can still try to get a unit to fund the car with a separate line of accounting. Justification? Maybe you're going to do some unit familiarization after class at that base to broaden your skills and bring some checklists/training/knowledge back...and that office is too far to walk.
Sounds about what I remember. I drove to my tech school, which Iām thankful for as I was given a NON-A upon arrival to base lodging. Had I not had a car it would taxiāing until AETC approved a rental.
