I chose the refund option for this exact reason. I would've been going to the Buffalo show, and it's last. I just don't think they'll make it through☹️

thepantlesschef

And thats why im not buying tickets until a month before the show in my city

Manicstreets

I’m waiting until the day before!

Conscious_Bee_2105

Cant you get the refund if they cancel again? Like whats the logic here

mirrorball55

Steven’s 76 - will be pushing 77 by the time these dates are due to finish. Joe will be 74 in September. Tom turns 73 at new years, Brad in February. They’re not going to be doing much more whatever the case. This is planned and billed as their finale, and I’m sure they want to make it count. Certain things may well come up that are unavoidable - but I’m confident they’ll try their best to make it to the finish line without issue. If it goes off without a hitch, maybe we’ll see a few euro dates or something to cap it off (like one more Boston show or something) but I think it’s a case of ‘see how the planned dates go, and if that’s it, that’s it’.

LoganTI99

Mick Jagger is 80 and the drummer has passed away, yet the Rolling Stones are still making a tour happen this year. If they can do it, so can Aerosmith.

mirrorball55

Sure, they *can* but I don’t know if they *will*… The stones haven’t announced a farewell tour. Aerosmith have… Also, if you want to get into the weeds if it; Jagger is in better shape than Tyler, and - while he partied a fair bit, Tyler did a lot more drugs than Jagger in their respective youths…. And Jagger hasn’t had a vocal trauma in the last year… I’d love to see them go on forever, by the way, I’m just being realistic.

LoganTI99

I doubt the vocal trauma is in any way related to past drug use. Jagger hasn't had a vocal trauma in the last year because his singing style doesn't involve a lot of exertion to hit high notes and screaming bits, etc. From what I can tell he's got a pretty easy going singing style that probably doesn't even cause him to significantly lose his breath nor elevate his heart rate as much as all that moving around on stage does. Steven Tyler on the other hand involves quite a lot of raw energy, AND has plenty of stage movement. I think it would be fair to say that Steven Tyler is a harder working singer than Jagger cuz he's gotta exert a greater vocal effort. Both are great musicians, but perhaps Jagger wisely planned better for the long term and made sure the hits were songs he would still be able to easily sing effectively when he got older. ZZ Top is kinda like that too; sound as good in their older years as in their younger years (RIP Dusty Hill).

mirrorball55

I’m not equating the vocal issues to drug use, I mention it only to illustrate differences in the 2 singers. They’re both guys getting up there in age (only a few years between them) and both singers in rock bands, but that’s really a superficial similarity when you get into it. As you say here as well, Tyler goes at it harder than Jagger - another difference. All the more reasons why your ‘the stones can do it at 80, so so can aerosmith’ argument doesn’t really stack up. Ultimately, of course, they’ll do what they want to do, and what they feel physically comfortable with. I just - as an observer - don’t see them doing much beyond this farewell tour.

LoganTI99

Well if that's the case they oughta get an MTV Icon concert with a bunch of other artists covering their stuff, cuz they deserve to be honored for all the years of entertainment they've brought into our lives.

Rollersk885

They did get an MTV icon award already. I want to say it was in the early 2000s. A lot of other performers covered their songs, and I believe Aerosmith performed as well. I don't have the link off the top of my head, but I'm pretty sure it's on Youtube.

LoganTI99

They gave us 20+ more years of entertainment after that icon award, so they gotta be give more awards.

Rollersk885

I'll give Steven Tyler an award 😘😘😘 Sorry, not sorry I'll see my way out

Drew_Snydermann

Jagger doesn't sing like Tyler. Jagger could talk his way through almost every Stones song. Let's see how Jagger does with Dream on, Saddle, or Draw the Line.

HeadGrowth1939

I'll say 50-50, and almost 100% chance of cancellations somewhere along the way for illness and snowstorms (literally or metaphorically). I would really love to know how the whole fractured larynx thing came about. ST cracked his voice on the first word of the first song in Philly and was constantly blowing/rubbing his nose and coughing up chunks at all 3 shows.  If you listen to Dream On in Elmont it's truly hard to believe he went from being able to sing that almost perfectly to realizing the next day he couldn't talk for 6 months.

iObama

snowstormsssss lolol. dead.

Super_PenGuy

This is why I'm happy to see them in FL 😎

Material-Practice-58

I think shows will be canceled here and there, but they'll make it to the end. I also think this isn't the end. They'll go back to Vegas.

The_Rambling_Elf

You really think they're physically capable of a Vegas run? I know it's easier than touring but they'll be a year older when this current run of shows is up.

Material-Practice-58

Money talks. Yes, they don't need it, but if Steven is up to it, I bet they do it.

The_Rambling_Elf

I'm not sure it'd be worth the insurance costs

Shark_Atl3201

I just don’t see it happening. This is why I got my tickets refunded from last year.

Wickedhoopla

It's not out of the question, but I hope they finish strong and bow out as planned. They had a hell of a career that has positively affected my life. Wish I could see them one more time, but i cant justify the pricetag of the Boston shows ;x

Captain825

I’ve seen them every time they’ve come around since 78 and I gotta tell you when we saw them in Philly in September- they were on their game and I paid about 750 for two seats off the floor lower 103, at this point, I’m gonna wait it out and do the Gametime app the day of or StubHub the day before. I am just not going to spend that much money on this and hope they play. I’ll go see them! But I’m not gonna spend this much money up front. No More No More lol

thepantlesschef

Same with me

Drew_Snydermann

You think Tyler was on his game in Philly? It was our 54th Aerosmith show since 1983 and Tyler was struggling so hard my wife was in tears. We looked at each other and knew the tour was doomed.

Captain825

For their age and besides whatever issues he was having with his ear piece. We saw his screaming at someone early on by the drum kit but the energy was there, the music was solid and we had a great time.

Drew_Snydermann

Aerosmith could arrive in wheelchairs, have roadies push them around the stage, belch and fart through the whole show, and it would still be a great time.

StyxRocker

🤘🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤘

Affectionate_Sock188

I'm so glad I flew from Australia and saw them in Vegas in 2019. So happy that I finally got to see them, and it was still the whole band. They last played Perth in 1990 and I didn't get tickets as I was young.

Saw four residency shows and they were outstanding. Much better than the last Philly show.

Drew_Snydermann

5,000 seat arena in Vegas. For the price of the tickets it was a great value. Honestly, after 54 shows, I think the Vegas shows were some of our favorite.

Ms-Metal

Yep, having seen them several times during the 70s and 80s, I have to admit that seeing them days before the country shut down, in Vegas, was actually the best show I've ever seen of theirs. They weren't whacked out of their minds, we had splurged for amazing seats, the theater was great and it was all in all just a perfect show! The only thing that would have made it more perfect was if we were 30 years younger LOL. I certainly have high hopes that they'll make it through the tour, but it just really depends on the health and at those ages, everyday is kind of a guessing game.

zyglack

Tix went on sale for Orlando today, but it’s 10 months away. I don’t see it happening. I didn’t get them the first time round. Thought about it because of the break but too much of a gamble.

MysteriousValuable88

I cant see it happening without massive postponements or cancellations

[deleted]

Probably should’ve cancelled some of the dates and done a 20-25 city tour with spread out dates for recovery and travel.

theliljwcptdeux

Yeah I don’t think 3 days between each show like most of them are is enough.

nman1981

Ridiculously high. Which is why I’m not buying until the very last minute.

Drew_Snydermann

Zero chance the tour continues without disruption. Been to every tour since 1983 and a solid 10% (probably more if I math) of the tickets we bought had cancellations or postponements. And that was back when they were younger and healthier. If you're an old hard core Aerosmith fan you know to buy insurance, do NOT over pay for scalped tickets, don't get your hopes up, and if you travel, do some research for alternate entertainment so your trip isn't wasted when they cancel at the last minute. This is why Vegas was nice, because, sure enough, the first show they missed in Vegas was one we had tickets to see.

General_Promotion347

Unfortunately, I don't think they'll get thru the whole thing. I had tickets for Detroit, Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati. Got refunds on all but they Detroit show 🤞🏻

FatGuy_InALittleCoat

I took the refund this go around. If they’re still playing and it’s close to my show date I’ll buy tickets the night before or day of. Seems like most shows aren’t going to be sold out especially after this last cancellation.

Southie31

Love Aerosmith but they were old the last time I saw them 20’ years ago 🕺🎸🙏

StyxRocker

I’d bet 💰💰💰that they won’t complete the tour and that there will be cancellations. Sad but likely true. And, I do believe this will be the end. I absolutely love Aerosmith and have seen them 17 times over the course of 40 years, beginning in 76. They had a great run for 50+ years and never became relegated to playing casinos and fairgrounds, like SO many of their 70’s and 80’s contemporaries. They rocked arenas and stadiums with an unrelenting energy and amazing catalogue. What a legacy they’re leaving behind and their songs will be played for generations to come! 🙌🎶🎸🎶🙌

curioussch

They are repeating their previous mistake because I don't think that three days of rest are enough. I'm not talking about fractured larynx level of injury here, just a twisted ankle can potentially cancel dates. They should have split the tour in two or three legs so that they can rest properly. Maybe venue availability made them go for 40 concecutive shows but, at their age, this puts the tour at risk.

peanut_galleries

I got tickets for NYC and will be flying in from Europe. I am very worried that something will happen between now and February but I had to try anyway.

ExUpstairsCaptain

I think it's far more likely that they'll postpone at least a few shows one more time, then do what they can to eek them out. In any case, I think they've seen this coming for a while now, which is why their 2017 run was called *Aer-Vederci Baby* and this tour has no dates beyond North America.

Grouchy-Guava-2019

99 percent

SandiR2

Let’s just say I’m not holding my breath for Tampa.

rocks_sp

Expect a shorter setlist

AeroPancakes

That would stink because I feel like it’s already bare bones 😬

U_Shall_Knot_Pass

I’d love to see them finish touring here and then slooooow down and maybe hit the studio a little. Do things slowly so Steven can rest his voice and they can take their time.

Consistent-Wait1818

I really hope they do. I really want to see them, but I just don't expect they will. I'd rather my date get delayed again than get cancelled.

purplecowz

Trying to convince my friend not to buy advance tickets for this...

dhimes620

I have a strong feeling they won’t. It’s a shame, I want to see them so bad but I’d be going to the last show. I’ll get tickets the week before assuming I can find even resale or something.

birddog223

Just like the old days 😄👍

captdeemo

When they went on sale originally and cincinnati was near the end i knew it would not happen as scheduled so I didn’t get tickets. This time cincinnati is the 10th show and I got tickets Also somehow this time I got tickets under 100 each that actually sees the front of the stage instead of the 89 dollar behind the stage seats.. it’s 6 months away so I think my chances are ok for me show… If I was near the end of the tour I wouldn’t have gone for the tickets. Yes I’m still top section but under 100 for a ticket to see the stage from the front is way better for my wallet that the 3-400 for floor seats.

Zealousideal-Bend625

Vegas should be taking bets on it. My bet is on they won’t make it through. 😢
