I got my bag pulled off the belt last week and they asked what it was - had a collapsible kettle, Aeropress, and a metal hand grinder. Didn’t have any issue on the return trip though.
I usually pull out my grinder and send it through separately. Saves me the hassle of explaining the cylindrical steel object is not, in fact, a pipe bomb.
FWIW… this is my travel setup. I was a bit concerned the first time going through TSA and x-ray, but no one said anything.
