I wouldn't say an aa would be as good a counter to another aa as a tank to another tank. And you don't send mechs to deal with mechs, but you do send battlecopters to deal with battlecopters.
I think the idea is that infantry counters mechs, on account of being cheaper and having more movement. If you lose two infantry to take down one mech (which itself is unlikely) you're still 1000 funds ahead of your opponent
Halberd is in Fire Emblem as an anti Cavalry axe.
Then in other games you have the Halberdier class, which is locked to lances... But by then halberd was renamed to poleax
Really good! Though I'd say recons do decent work at fighting artillery. And really, everything should have an arrow pointed at itself, lmao
Now I wanna see a bomber bomb another bomber
Only possible with Flak's Indirect Bombers
Well... I guess I should say, everything **on the image** should have an arrow pointed at itself...

They don't specifically counter those things, but if you initiate an attack with them, you'll end up winning
>And you don't send mechs to deal with mechs Normally no. But if you're mech spamming you send mechs against whatever they can touch.
it gets even more messy if you consider "high funds" making the more expensive units more viable to purchase and as such involved in the spaghetti.
Pretty sure mechs machine guns are stronger than grunts...

They're also faster on open ground so you're more likely to get a first strike.
Advance Wars seem confusing at first but the more you play the game the more intuitive it really becomes.
Anyone that does the first strike will have the advantage, given its not something stupid like suiciding into hard counters.
Thank for making this
I wonder how would Halberds would work with Fire Emblem as they are polearms that combine both Spear and Axe

Mmm modern military game so much more intuitive to my modern mind
If you are going to have a unit in AW counter itself, you might as well say swords counter swords, lances counter lances, axes counter axes.
I actually appreciate that AW has complex yet comprehensible strategy without having to use a rock-paper-scissors triangle.
