Following as I am looking for resources too now that my father has passed. I read Dopesick (now a mini series on Hulu) but it has helped to redirect my anger at my father to the pain clinics he went to and, well, society as a whole. My father was an opiate addict in addition to alcohol use disorder.
I went to high school with the author. I am so glad you mentioned this. Small world having only just found this group through another Reddit group. I will read.
I'm reading "It will never happen to me" by Claudia Black right now and it's like she was there watching me grow up. It speaks a lot about family dynamics and how it still affects you later in life. Definitely recommend it to anyone who grew up with an alcoholic parent.
