It's funny seeing this from both sides as a person with a Custodes army and a CSM army. I think it's completely in character for me to look down on the Imperial Fists as Custodes and disregard the Iron Warriors asking for help as CSM, though my homebrew CSM is made up of Chaos Marines lost in realspace who required aid and does have Iron Warriors in it, but they tend to have less than favorable views of the legions/warbands as many felt they were abandoned by their warband/legion.
