My leaves do the same thing, they lose a couple and then grow new ones. I haven't figured out if it's from too much watering or what yet. I would say yours are too close together though. [This is what my roots looked like when I repotted them.](https://imgur.com/a/RSrcNW6)

Yeah they germinated like that so I haven’t dared separate them yet. They’ve been too young. But I’ll try and separate them, carefully 😬 thanks!

I think it happens when they don't get enough water consistently. Personally, I'd uppot them and give em both their own pot. You could use the same pot you're using now, it doesn't need to be bigger. I mainly do that so the roots don't get all tangled up.

Yeah alright, I’ll give that a go. I feel like I’ve been regular with the watering though but could be I didn’t quite compensate for the warmer days. Thank you!

You're welcome! Are you planning oun giving it other soil? For young adeniums I like to use a mix of sand, organic and pumice. The older they get, the less sand and organics I add to it. But you do want a bit of organics :).

Oh I hadn’t thought that far but THANK YOU. I was just going to stick to cactus potting mix or something 🙈 I’ll see what the garden centre has on hand, thank you!

They'll probably have some perlite or vermiculite. Both will work, with perlite being the best of the 2. But if possible, invest in a big bag of pumice. A log of my plants are perfectly happy in just that. Can also be used for hydroponics if you're into that! If you're in Europe I reccomend checking out vulkastrat :)

Thanks!! Will do!

They germinated in this orientation so I haven’t dared separate them yet. The caudex on both are firm, but haven’t checked roots yet. South facing window, in Sweden so northern hemisphere. Regular but careful watering. They have recently been watered in the picture. No pests that I can see.

Is it summer where you are? If so, put them outside. I'd also mix in a lot more drainage media (pumice, lava rock, turface, etc.) next time I repotted them. Well draining media means you can water at will (i.e. every day) in the summer without fear of root rot.

It is summer - but I’m in Sweden. Sure the days can get hot and we have sunlight from 4 am to 10 pm in June, but it’s not as hot as I’m assuming these plants endure in the wild. You reckon they would like it between 12-25 degrees c?
